Jonas form has dipped quite a bit after a brilliant start to the season. It seems like everytime someone pushes him for his spot, he raises his game (Marveaux). He was brilliant up until we played Everton. Still, his defensive capabilities and work rate exceeds Obertan's and they both create an equal limited amount of chances right now. Too much pressure on Cabaye to make things happen when we don't have wingers that produce chances, evident at Norwich and likewise against Swansea. Therefore HBA needs his chance on Wednesday night.

Sitting 6th for the third round running, made two changes for mid-week. Ba my new captain.

Playing him on the right would work well, he'll be able to cut in on his left and create some new patterns etc. Very fed up with Obertan, not because I think he is that piss poor, but because he dwells on the ball and gets into way too many good positions. Still only has one assist and no goals. Even Jonas manages more, and his strength has never been providing points.

Chile-lite pretty much. Just sold Vargas who scored most of their goals to Napoli for £11m. Their left sided player, Eugenio Mena, looked good in the couple of games I watched n all. Vargas looks a player. Incredibly quick and a class finisher.

f***ing infuriating yesterday. Had everyone lined up to attack the back post and he never got past the front post. Free kicks the same. Yet him and Demba do some sort of code before with their arms like an X. Stop in and just smack them in there. We were sound when Barton took them. If Ryan Taylor plays I don't see why he shouldn't take em.

This whole "can't play on the wing" is lunacy. That's where he made his name isn't it? Just play him. Obertan was woeful yesterday again. And as well as Best have done for us, he hasn't scored since Villa. Just get Benny in to support one of the most in-form strikers in Europe.

I think Samba and Sow are both way too expensive.

Him and Cabaye is one of the most dynamic and brilliant CMs in the league. Really hope we get to see more of them and maybe throw in Ben Arfa there as well at some point, that triangle could cause mayhem.

Very good performance yesterday, what a big asset he can become. Very good going forward, using BOTH feet in contrast to Taylor. Really hope Pardew does not do anything stupid now.

Benny and Ba for me now. Best is helpful should we need someone of his stature, but Ben Arfa offers something different. Would have been useful today.

Thing is, Tioté today and v WBA would probably mean 6pts. Today will be tough, Swansea are very capable.

Interview with him in today's Journal. Think he comes across well spoken and certainly being honest about things. Used to read "this is my chance, I want the manager to pick me from now on etc." and fringe players fooling themselves. He's just saying he's struggled but wants to do better, can't fault him.
