Pardew can't really be faulted for this scenario. If we have Cheik, Colo and Williamson back for Liverpool & Man Utd I don't fear those games one bit. After Man Utd away we'd played well and many expected us to beat Chelsea. Solid performance and freak luck in terms of injuries - and suddenly confidence is shot? I think these players are very confident in their ability considering our start to the season. We'll be back firing on all cylinders very soon.

In terms of strikers, not one for January, but John Guidetti (Man C, loan at Feyenoord) is the greatest talent Sweden has produced sin Zlatan. 8 goals in 11 games for Feyenoord, 19 years of age and a psychotic will to succeed, his interviews have been mental yet inspiring since he was 16. Will probably leave City at some point, we should be in for him. I suspect he'll go to the Euros for us as well.

Cheik can boss any midfield. What we saw against Villa, Spurs and a couple of other games this season was the most industrious CM I've ever seen at Newcastle. He has become more dynamic and tackled Spurs off the pitch. In addition, his work load enhances Cabaye and gives him more freedom. The biggest shame - if he goes - would be that we wouldn't see the two of them in full flow.

Very optimistic. Although, his price is going to be ridiculous considering the fact that his contract is up in 2017.
