Swedish and Tottenham fan. Urgh. Better than a Norwegian Newcastle fan. Yuk. What is it with those Norwegians hating all other Scandinavians? It's a Mackem-esque obsession! Have nothing against Scandinavians in general. In football on the other hand. That goes for Norwegians as well. I'd say it's the other way around. But that's more an issue for you, Denmark and Finland. Arrogant as it might be, but you lot go unnoticed most of the time. Not sure what your point is here. I doubt any of the other Scandinavian leagues is of any big interest to the different Scandinavian countries. I certainly don't hear much about them here in Norway. Was just speaking about the countries in general. Footballing wise you and Denmark are lightyears ahead of our miserable league.

This lad - Erik Andersson - is having a nine day trial with us. 14 years old... http://hd.se/landskrona/2011/11/10/bois-talang-tranar-med-newcastle/

He's excellent back-up in the middle tbh. Look at what other teams put out when their starters are out (Spearing, Livermore and even a couple of Arsenal's youngsters this season), and I'd say we won't be able to get much better in terms of a third choice CM.

Likeable lad and good professional, but if we want to move forward we need to find better in time anyway.

Asset stripping is one thing, soul stripping another. A pity this had to come at this time, hope the disruptive potential of it does not cause our form to dip. Stupid move from him, even if he earns money from it.

Newcastle United 2 - 1 Everton - 05/11/11 - post-match reaction from page 26

Our passing is fantastic at times. -
Coloccini has grown into one of the best defenders in Europe, if not the world. Not many can match his ability to tackle, read and organize a defence. Add to that his excellent ability to distribute the ball and pass himself out of positions. Lots of people who watch Newcastle games are starting to acknowledge his behaviour on the pitch. Top, top player and one of the best defenders I've ever seen. By far the best CB I've seen at Newcastle by now. Surpassing Woodgate in terms of ability and consistency.

Sounds to me like he's bitter that he didn't make it at Barca. Personal problems aside, at the end of the road I think what happened is that Guardiola spent a shitload on a player to perform the striker-playmaker role he envisioned to replace the more limited Eto'o, and then he realized that in Messi he already had the best player in the world to perform that role. Zlatan became a bit of an odd end. Brilliant player, I'd have really loved if he had made it here. Swede's seem to always defend him, I'm not sure he was the right fit. It seems to me as if Barcelona simply works better with someone who finishes off the moves and provides an alternativ in behind defenses. Zlatan has toyed with the Serie A for years, playing with his back to goal. Doesn't really work in a team playing the sort of football you lot play. Not really down to his or Guardiola's ability, but rather a rare mistake of signing the wrong player. His reaction is of course something else. Looking forward to read it myself.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is releasing a book that deals with big parts of his career. Apparently the bit about his time at Barcelona is incredibly revealing and honest. When he was troubled at Barcelona, he called his childhood friends from Rosengård (rough neighbourhood outside of Malmö where he grew up) to ask for advice. They offered to come down and "smash things up", he kindly declined with it "not being the right strategy at that particular moment". On Guardiola: "You don't have any balls. You shit yourself in front of Mourinho. When Mourinho light things up, you pull down the curtains."

I see my "blessing in disguise" caused some fury. In the long run I think we'll benefit from it, Marveaux or Ben Arfa will get their chance, I think most of us agree that their potential is something else. Of course it's a pity this has come when he had a brilliant game at Stoke. And I second the fact that he'll be far more effective away from home. His decision-making when we control possession is horrifying.

Blessing in disguise.

For some mysterious reason, there is this new, weird habit of things coming right for us. In most cases. I think Ben Arfa is just one we have to have patience with. When an injury occurs, he'll excel and be the player we all fell in love with.
-
He's got everything you want from a striker. Quick, strong, good in the air, gets goals, collects the ball deep, decent technique. I reckon he's perfect on his own up front as well. Masterful piece of business.

Spurs got stuffed off Man Utd away and City at home. Clearly not top 6 material. Even if we get turned over in these 3 games, it's how we do after them against Norwich & Swansea which will truly gauge where we are imo. My exact opinion in the OP. If that's the test, everyone has failed and nobody can finish anywhere except Man C.
-
I'd love a return to Europe. Seems like ages ago we played there.
-
The shit one was disgusting, worthy of a Stoke player.
-
Including Stoke players too? Could be. Pretty new stadium isn't it?
-
Chelsea game could well be a point. The other two are two of the maybe four hardest fixtures in the World. Of course there is no pressure.

Was just trying to highlight facts in terms of "testing". Slightly tired of hearing it from experts, especially over here where everyone support Liverpool. Same goes for journalists and lots and lots of fans. Trying to get my head round what they're aiming at. It's all there to see.
-
Lots of supporters going on about it tonight, trying to find a way to explain our emphatic start to the season. It makes no sense. I don't even want to touch upon Liverpool, their say in the matter is irrelevant. But they've failed to beat Norwich and the mackems at home, as well as lost to Stoke. And 0-4 to Spurs. Spurs were "tested" against Manchester City and Manchester United. They lost 0-3 and 1-5. Chelsea have "tested" themselves against Manchester United and Arsenal. They've lost 1-3 and 3-5. Arsenal were "tested" against Manchester United. They failed miserably and lost 2-8. They also lost to Spurs. Manchester United were "tested" against Manchester City. They failed their miserably test, lost 1-6. So everyone who have been tested have failed bar Manchester City. What is this test that other supporters and experts are on about? Whether we can challenge for the title? I'm not saying we'll finish where we are, but overlooking the sides that we've brushed aside is just plain stupidity.

Newcastle United vs Everton - 05/11/11 @ 12:45pm - live on Sky

Is Fellaini suspended for this? Picked up something against Man United didn't he? What about Cahill's fitness? Very tough game, great opportunity for three points again though. Would like Cabaye to get more involved and be on the ball more here. Same team except for Tioté. Everyone deserve their place after tonight. I think the bench players we have at the moment will come in handy here.
