Kinnear tried to ship Enrique as well.

why in gods name to Pearce and Keane and no hope in O'Neill Forest connections and all that. I still think Keane can become a decent manager, would be good for them. Someone like Dave Penny or Lee Clarke otherwise. Still rate Billy Davies, seems to inspire his teams to defy odds all the time.

Emre against Reading was a fantastic goal to cap off a brilliant performance. But overall he was a flop tbh.

They have a huge fan base here in Sweden. I think my next major piece will be on how much I despise them and how it's come to my attention after the sales of Carroll and Enrique. They have 7-8000 people reading their articles on there everyday. Should cause some reaction. Just found an article on "Luis Enrique" and how well he's settling.

Sorry to bump this thread again, but I have to get this out of my system. Liverpool fans have been getting on my nerves for quite some time now, especially because of how they're treated by media and the perception that there is something superior and noble about their club, that the importance of Liverpool knows no limits and that you have to be of a certain standard to play for them. It drives me mad. I've seen plenty of examples from England, but the Swedish ones have been limited. Today, a leading Liverpool fan site - the equivalent of the one I'm in charge of for NUFC-fans over here - have a fan saying he was worried Enrique wouldn't be up for it at Liverpool because of the massive difference that comes playing for Liverpool instead of Newcastle. He says he was worried Enrique would find it difficult at such a club because of all that comes with it. What exactly he's referring to, I don't know. Is it that he now has Carragher by his side instead of Coloccini? Is it that he plays in front of a smaller crowd? My question is; how did this fed-up personality of Liverpool supporters come to be from the beginning? It's spreading on a global scale now, it seems.

The international break - a moment to take stock

I know Pardew has already hinted he might make changes for Spurs, in my opinion it's the right thing to do. The first change I'd make is putting Santon on for Ryan Taylor. The time has come despite a couple of decent performances. His last ditch tackles and brave clearances have suprised me, but up against a good winger he's clueless when it comes to one-on-one. I don't want him to cost us points, and Spurs will be the best side we've played so far. Get Santon in the team. The second change would be Jonas to right midfield and Marveaux coming on at left wing. Not necessarily permanently, but Jonas will be important for Simpson when he comes up against Bale. I'm not a massive fan of Bale and I do think he's massivley overrated, but Simpson will struggle with his pace and with Bale's sheer belief that he can beat him time and time again. Also, Marveaux deserves his chance now. Obertan didn't impress at all today. The third one is harsh on Best, but I'd consider getting Ben Arfa on instead of him. The partnership we have upfront is working very well indeed, but it might be a bit to static against Tottenham. Also, I think Ba och Best might be outmuscled by Kaboul and King, so playing one of them will be enough while letting Hatem offer something else in attack. -
The only sort of weakness this golden god has is his aerial ability. How he makes up for it I don't know, but he should be struggling a lot more against the amount of big, mean strikers he comes up against. The moment that springs to mind is when we played Bolton and he was all over the place, finally elbowing Elmander and getting sent off. Somehow, I think he learnt a lesson that day, hasn't looked trouble by anyone with that physical approach ever since. Completely agree with him surpassing Woodgate by now. His consistency since we dropped down is unheard of, playing every single game and being the magnificent defender whoever he plays with or comes up against. Like HTT said, world-class and would be considered a steal at £10m if he had played this well from the off. Also, taking into account that he didn't turn his back on us when we went down shows that he is a determined player with a point to prove. Pure love.

Boro on Boxing Day, 01/02 season. I think it was against City in 03/04. Won 3-0. He scored in that game against Boro though if I'm not mistaken.

It's been quite a while since we had a squad that were capable of pulling in the same direction. Comebacks like the one against Arsenal (and going back to the way we beat Chelsea in the CC, that game at Bristol City where we came back from 0-2 down etc.) is the sort of thing that indicate a tight group. Before "Hughton's Group of Lads", we didn't have that kind of willingness to fight for each other going back 7-8 years. It's refreshing, but like someone said, we need to see these players perform when things aren't going our way before any real judgement can be made. The "fightback" at Villa, where we kept believing despite going 1-0 down, was a good sign for me.

Why? Terrible for him. Good player.

Remember Cotterill tearing Danny Simpson a new one in the Championship. Clearly MOTM when we played them away, made Simpson look like a conference defender.

I think the black change strip is the best change kit we've had since the black one in 03/04.

Watch your mouth. It's retarded though. Retarded mouth? Norweigan level of understanding going on here I see.

Wolves vs Newcastle United pre-match thread - 01/10/11 @ 3pm

4-4-2 will work with Ba because he comes deep and links midfield to attack, I'd like to see it again, with Ben Arfa possibly coming on if things don't work out. They played quite well 2nd half at Liverpool and have a point to prove on the back of three losses. We need to be on our toes. Could be a very good game to watch, just hope we come out on top. -

The only game worth going to over here. Not sure I like the protests though, our FA is absolutley abysmal and haven't got many things right, but responsibility lies with the fans as well.

One of the best CB's in the league. A fucking joke that he can't get into their national squad.

You don't remember Solano?

I've got a lot of time for Norwich. Sympathetic manager who seems like he know's his football (dropping Holt is the right thing, gives them a much more dynamic attacking approach), class atmosphere in the ground. Also like them because they've been through hell since 2005 and come back in sensational fashion. Seems like they deserve their success. Really hope they stay up instead of Blackburn or Wigan.

Sessegnon is similar to Dembele in that aspect. Looks good generally but fails to produce the goods. No end product.
