  1. Sorry for the scepticism but I'd much rather they just said we're building new facilities than 1. claiming it's to "attract elite players" (on loan? on expiring contracts?) 2. Put that fucking idiot's name on it. It says so much about how fucking stupid Ashley think we are.

    Alan Pardew

I think Rooney will get it.

    Loïc Remy

Best movement we've had since Bellamy. Completley transforms us going forward and makes Cabaye so much more useful. For fuck sake make an effort to keep him.
  4. We have a reaaly good chance here. Swansea aren't flowing they way they used to and Michu looks like he's out. Their pressing should suit Remy.

    Alan Pardew

Pardew's inability to get us playing in a defined system as a team for the majority of his time here is what has raised doubts about his ability. He does appear to have chopped and changed his way to an eleven that look fairly well organised currently though. The test will come when we come up against a side that keeps Remy quiet. Hopefully as a team we can work goals through good attacking play as well as hitting teams on the break. This is my main criticism. On the basis of the past 18 months, the manager employed at this club has been unsuccessful in learning his side how to attack or defend. We lost 19 league games last season, mainly as a result of that. If the recent upturn in form and results is a result of him revising his football approach or learning new ways of utilizing the talent at the club, then sure - go on and bring the club forward. On evidence of his career and the previous reoccurance of the same mistakes, he has a very long way to go before my belief is back with him.

    Alan Pardew

Injuries and Europa League - neither of them forces him to play hoof ball with Cissé on the wing and concede 68 goals. Not explanations nor are they excuses for what he served up last season.
  7. No penetration from their central midfield nor from their wingers, no CM capable of turning up in or around the box with Dembele/Paulinho/Sandro etc. I think dropping Lennon from RW is too much change at once. Need to stick to part of last season's formula. They should blood Lamela down the left as he was their "like for like" replacement for Bale, give Eriksen license to float and create behind a nr 9 - which honestly could be Adebayor rather than Soldado - offers nothing if there aren't balls played into the box with pace. They won't get that. Don't think he'd have been successfull in last season's Spurs team either. Really strange signing without any real purpose and a luxury striker who'd do well in Dortmund, Arsenal or perhaps Bayern, feeding of unorganised defences and smart movement with lots of offensive players surrounding him. Nothing other than that.

    Papiss Cissé

He supposedly did hold up the ball quite well when he was at Freiburg, was on his own up front a lot. Really weird as he most often looks unable to control the ball, hold off defenders or win headers.
  9. Really impressed with Mapou in the recent games. Seemingly not affected by the Everton horror show nor the fact that he was moved to RB because of Coloccini's return. Top pro, great defender and someone who'll grow into a very, very important player for us.
  10. Absolutley. I just feel the two of them deserve eachother for being shit at what they do.
  11. He also quoted something from Guardiola about "hating excuses" and called him a "top manager". Clear dig at Pardew. Fucking child. He's licked Pardew's pelvis for so long.
  12. Zlatan's said he won't be at WC2018, as would be expected. Fucking shame we didn't go to 2010 when he was a fucking monster. Feels like a dive into eternal darkness for Swedish football after Euro 2016, even though I seriously doubt we'll get there without anyone emerging from out of nowhere. Still feel blessed to have lived through the age of Zlatan, this country will never see anything like him.
  13. It's an unusual situation as the arrangement probably requires a lot more transparency than given. If fans are buying merchandise in order to support the club, but the reality is different (money goes into SD), it's something that should have been communicated with clarity at an earlier stage. The club owes everyone connected to the club to be clear in this aspect. Many fans are spending their money in good faith at nufcdirect.com.
  14. True Faith asking all the right questions. Hopefully the local media can pick up on it as well. This is what I'd like to be explained the most. Does not make sense one bit.
  15. (4–4–2): Andreas Isaksson – Mikael Lustig, Per Nilsson, Mikael Antonsson, Martin Olsson – Sebastian Larsson, Rasmus Elm, Kim Källström, Alexander Kacaniklic – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Johan Elmander. Our CB pair is basically white flag.
  16. So for example, it's not harder to play an away game in Europe midweek than to have a day off? It's not an excuse for starting Shola in midfield and hoof millions of people into insanity for 9 months.
  17. In 02/03 I think we didn't lose a single game after Champions League games? Pretty much played the same team as well with the occasional Shola/Lua-Lua/Bernard/Andy Griffin inclusion in the game after CL. That excuse can eat shit tbh.
  18. He wasn't a fucking liability. He was off form and not as effective as we're used to. Rightly sacrificed for harder working players for the two games against Chelsea and Spurs. He should have his place back for the games against Norwich and WBA, no doubt. Squad game etc.
  19. I'd say Anita's development as well. He's higher rated by both fans and Pardew now. All three of them seem to push eachother on. Or maybe this is all because Gosling left.
  20. AlanSkÃrare

    Loïc Remy

He'll have bigger and better takers if this continues. Looks like one of the best in the league in his position; clinical, creative with very smart movement and confidence about him. There'll be loads of interest.
  21. We also need a manager that teaches a purposeful way of playing football. Not the opportunist, relying-on-one-player-to-score-all-the-goals-then-sit-back football that we've played for three years now. In the long run it's not enough, despite finishing 5th with that mentality bearing fruit for almost a full season.
  22. Squad player that we can happily rely on for a few games here and there. Extended runs in the team will expose him. Problem is he's not supposed to be replaced by Coloccini or Taylor, but someone more physical than Colo and less injury prone than Taylor.
  23. http://www.fifa.com/u17worldcup/matchcast/matchday=15/day=1/match=300253594/index.html?intcmp=livecoverage_box_u17worldcup_hp_en Pisstake. Valmir Berisha has been on fire, supposedly close to joining Celtic of all clubs. Seems there's hope after Zlatan.
