He might continue his debut tradition of scoring own goals of catastrophic proportions?

Ryder dropping knowledge. Lee Ryder @lee_ryder 12 s Newcastle United are understood to have made a 'substantial' bid for Lyon's Clement Grenier #NUFC
-
It's us telling them we've offered a lot for him to try and avoid the backlash when it's rejected. Probably below £10m.
-
Sky Sports saying "substantial but undisclosed bid" lodged now... Edit: Graeme Bailey @GraemeBailey nu Sky Sports understands Newcastle United have made a 'substantial' but undisclosed bid for Lyon's Clement Grenier.

I really hope Pardew sees what this man brings to our team. His energy and movement transforms us to some degree. We win time on the ball because of his technique, he imposes more pressure on the ball and is always finding space. I think he's "freeing" us up. We've collapsed, both on and off the ball, when he's been subbed lately. Fair play to him for sticking through a difficult start as well, he's coming into his own now and getting much deserved praise.

Daily Star saying Lyon's £13m valuation has ended our interest. Sounds very believable.
-
So that means nobody coming in then. No way we'll get Grenier in these coming days.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Aye but the Webster ruling has happend like three times ever and the reason some s*** paper reported it was because Julien Laurens started some speculation on his own on Twitter, and came up with the idea himself. There's never been any real suggestion Cabaye was contemplating using that rule ffs. -
If we sign Adam to replace Cabaye, I'd hope the world ends. There's just no need to go on if that happens.

FootieWriter better be right.

Who is Andy Brassel? Former expert in World Football Phone-In. One of the most knowledgeable journalists I know of.
-
Andy Brassell @andybrassell 1 min Borussia Mönchengladbach just announced that Luuk de Jong not training today as medical with Newcastle is set up. Seems done.
-
Seemed to me as if we'd moved on to Grenier? He's even more unlikely.

Of all things that could ever happen in football, Zlatan playing for us would have me ready to die. -

We should be able to squeeze them for at least £20m. Anything else is a scam, unless he threatens to use that Webster rule thing in the summer. -

The only thing that gives me hope is the sudden interest in loaning players. It's proper straw grasping, but still. Why leave the biggest advertising board he could ever dream of without having to spend a penny on it? -

Aye, he knows this. Some part of me just doesn't trust Kinnear to negotiate/convice Cabella/his angry bosses or Grenier to join us within the forthcoming four days.
