Positive move imo. Worth remembering he's still only 23 as well, we're getting the prime years of his career. If he wants to be a success here I think he can be.

I like him, but then again I don't really watch much football these days Potential to be a real cult hero imo

Watford 1-0 Newcastle United 9/1/16 - post match "reaction" from page 12
Dr Venkman replied to Greg's topic in Football
Just watched the highlights, which was 3 minutes of us attacking and their goal, Mitrovic was involved in everything they showed -
With respect, Ian, semantics. The net result is the same.

Where do you draw the line though? Get rid of obvious errors and naturally the focus will then move to less obvious ones. The stakes are so high that we could end up with anything being deemed a 'game changer'. Give each team a number of challenges. then managers start moaning about not having enough challenges and we would have won if we could challenge x y and z thing at the end of the game. Also I can easily see the likes of Pulis and Allerdyce making frivolous challenges to disrupt opposition momentum and or waste time So the net result is managers moaning? 1) They do that anyway. 2) So? Fairness is more important Yes, they may well make frivolous challenges, that would be their prerogative. I think the net gains out weigh the losses. Challenges might not ultimately be the answer, but we have to be doing something to address unfair decisions.

At present, every single refereeing decision made is subjective. It shouldn't be about removing subjectivity, it should be about affording the referee the benefits of modern technology in order to make a better informed decision. The entire refereeing structure in this country is built upon the notion that the referee can't be wrong, it's thinking like this which has us in the mess we're in. People get things wrong, that's fine, but give them a better chance to get things right and the game will be better for it.

It's a line in the sand though, and stops everything getting reviewed.

I only got into this thread to reply to one comment about him not "giving a f***". That's what all of my rambles over the last page have been in reference to. If rather than "not giving a f***" it would have said "results on the pitch don't matter much to him as long as we are in the PL" would you have reacted? Because that's what it effectively comes down to. fundamentally bullshit in my eyes

It's even less surprising when it's Pardew's Palace.

We got plenty of good deliveries in today, they just aren't going to get us many goals at this stage of their careers. Wijnaldum is our best bet for a goal by a mile I disagree. Janmaat and Sissoko are always the players crossing and neither are particularly good at it. I saw one good delivery from each, but the rest were all just lofted into the box.

Arsenal 1-0 Newcastle United - 2/1/16 - Post match reaction from page 26

It's just his usual 'oh, look, he can tackle a bit' performance away to a big team. After this, he'll be trying to nutmeg people on the edge of our box and shooting from 40 yards out on his left foot first time. It's Tiote -
Needs to give Thauvin a run in the team imo and ditch Colback. Focus on getting good delivery into Mitrovic and Perez, we desperately need to start scoring.

Tiote often looks good away against the better sides, it won't last. -

I'm sure there was something enjoyable about watching NUFC games, but I can't remember what it was. -

Mitrovic gets fucking nowt like -
It began to show the minute Kinnear walked in you plank. Is there a need for such a response? Especially as you would never dare talk to me like that IRL.

Not concerned about a few missed chances, strikers go on these runs and turn it round. The old cliche about worrying when he stops getting into positions is appropriate here.

Shelvey would be a big improvement on what we've got. His first touch usually takes him forwards, he's an attack minded player, which we really need in the middle. Also scores a few, I think he'd be a good signing. Why is he leaving Swansea?
