  1. You can always buy players approaching 30 if you pay enough. Sunderland did that with a couple of ex-Man U defenders. Fucks sake man, you were wrong, just leave it.
  2. When you're playing away from home and getting all the decisions, complain to the referee as a group.
  3. The more I see it the less it looks like a sending off, just tries to trap the ball.
  4. Hi guys, enjoy it while it lasts, we know what's coming.
  5. He'll probably get done for that. Probably aye. He also said that we'll appeal the decision, even though we'll lose it
  6. Absolutely cracking footballer. His close control is unreal.
  7. Given how the team is playing and McClaren's general attitude so far that just wouldn't make any sense imo. The only possible reason I can think of is that he would expect Colback to be able to use his body a bit more, even then I'm far from convinced it would be a priority.
  8. what kind of corner does he have to turn like? he's a footballer who can play football, now that we're playing football he's starting to look a decent midfielder and will continue to do so as long as we play to his strengths and not his weaknesses as we'd done for the entirety of his time with us We didn't play much football on Saturday tbf. We set up perfectly for Anita to max his strengths and Man Utd. played to his strengths too. But Anita did his thing. It's where there's strong midfield runners looking to get ahead of the strikers and really boss the midfield is where he usually struggles. But today we saw a glimpse of what we could do. i honestly don't think we should be comparing what he's done or not done in the past to what we're seeing now when he plays in the right system if he's playing behind wijnaldum/sissoko (or colback) and his job is as it was on saturday he'll be able to do the ball recycling thing we all know he can do, but he'll also be better protected and able to track runs, intercept and so on, just as he did on saturday and he's actually very good at i know it perhaps seems like a massive excuses are always being made for anita but he's a diminutive defensive midfielder playing in the premier league, in the same way that armstrong is a diminutive striker and didn't suit having the ball launched up to him by williamson armstrong hasn't "turned a corner" at coventry, he's just being played properly (and of course has dropped down levels) if you expose anita he's going to look shite because he doesn't have the physical attributes, but played correctly he's twice the CM colback is and offers twice as much Cracking post. Anita's been criticised by quite a few, most of them without any vision.
  9. Indeed, he looks very useful. Also scored one and set up 3 on his full debut which even though the opposition were not of a good standars I dont think there is much more he could have done. He's not got blinding pace, but he's got that elusive quality you need for a dribbler, whereas Cabella would be head down, step over, no gain, repeat.
  10. Feel sorry for him reading this tbh. It's funny, obvs, but it's easy to overlook how tough it must be for young lads in a new country who don't speak the language. Seems a totally genuine fella, this one. He also appears to be a premier league ready centre half already, he's gonna be a legend.
  11. Granted I barely watched us last season, but I've already seen more in him than I did in everything I saw of Cabella here. What the fuck were all those French doom mongers on about?
  12. Must have some Next vouchers. I might get myself one. Must be an offer on. Can see all kinds of fuckers starting to wear tuxedos at away games and that now The mackems are NOT going to like this development, they're the classy ones!
  13. Who keeps saying that? I'm yet to hear anyone pundit other than Danny Mills say that it wasn't a red. Mick Lowes and John Anderson both said it wasn't a red card offence and that Mariner had got it wrong. Red card then. Ahh, the 'x said it so the truth is the opposite' line of argument, one of my favourites.
  14. He's not an animal. He's got the physical attributes to really impose himself on the opposition and he knows it, but he needs to be a bit more clever in how he goes about it, that's all.
  15. Would like to see that challenge done on yourself, you'd be changing your mind instantly. I doubt I'd give a fuck if someone scraped their studs down my shinpad like. Let's recreate it, I'll come round and touch your shin with my foot, see how instantly you change your mind? It was a stamp BTW, not a touch. I can stamp as lightly as he did.

  17. Neutrals on a horse said it wasn't/was a red card, depending on what I think.
  18. It's a red card. Whether it would warrant it 10 years ago is irrelevant...today it is a red card, sadly. Stop it, man That's a yellow card, I don't give a f*** if it's an NUFC player a Man United player or Jimmy Saville, stop telling everyone what they think! Eh? I'm not telling anyone what they think Isn't this place about giving your opinion. My opinion is it's a red card. That is all. More a reaction to your thumbs up at Neesy's post tbh.
  19. Nice to read, mate. Especially given what you've been saying about him over the last few weeks. Did you change your mind after you watch the team play?

  21. Exactly, pants shitting all over this thread. 'His club'? It's fucking Alan Pardew, man, weren't you watching for the last five years?
  22. Haven't read through the thread but for my part I'm once again encouraged by the character in the team. 70 minutes against Arsenal with ten men and they had to rely on a deflected off target shot to get three points. Obviously they could have had more but that was down to their poor finishing as well as our defenders fighting to the last to put them under pressure. In seasons gone by that would have been 5 or 6-0. A word on the ref as I have read the debate in the Mitrovic thread. Regardless of everything else he showed his hand with the Colo booking imo, he might have just about gotten away with it but that booking was just flat out cheating, it was never, ever even a foul nevermind a booking. The Gini booking was a little hint at his intentions too, the lads playing 70 minutes in a ten man team and he's just been fouled, let him have a whinge ffs, such a petty booking with no thought for the context of the game.
