Everything about the Bolton goal was glorious, particularly given how anti football we were for 80 mins prior. It'll be a long time before I see an NUFC player score another as good as that.

His technical ability and 'flair' have been blown impressively out of proportion in his absence like. He couldn't even deliver in Guingamp by all accounts, will never make it in the Premier league. Yeah i've been thinking the same. Maybe he also means people that have the kind of character that makes them able to perform at the big stage as well. It's a very important distinction. Can you think of a meek, subservient player who will stand up and be counted on the pitch? The likes of Pardew need a room full of weaklings who won't stand up to them because he's insecure due to his inability. Sir Bobby knew that when it comes to game time you need a team full of men with self belief, and they tend to give your their opinions.

Shawcross would undoubtedly improve us, I'm not sure why it's being debated.

Given the last few seasons I'd consider it a success. The most important thing is looking to improve every season, which of course is where we'll fail.

It goes all the way back to Pardew saying HBA didn't want to play out wide, a few weeks after he signed. This was Pardew's first excuse for not playing him, after HBA had done an interview with the chronicle saying that he wanted to supply the crosses for Carroll.

Don't really care how fat he is now. He was treated absolutely disgracefully by Pardew.

We've lost seven players since we last signed one (Ben Arfa, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon, Jonas, Alnwick, R.Taylor & Sammy Ameobi). I'd say only HBA, Mbiwa & Santon going hurts though, and pretty sure Cabella was Ben Arfa's replacement.

Undoubtedly he'll make them better, but their starting point is Pardew, they'll still be shit. He didn't know what to do with him at NUFC, he won't know what to do with him at Palace.

This isn't a dig at you personally, but it's really depressing to see what we've been reduced to. It takes one thing and one thing only to sign football players, money. We've got fucking loads of it. I remember when making signings was the bit we took for granted and we waited to be 'impressed' at the weekend by the way the team played.

Perhaps they're being coached to be able to play in a number of different styles depending on the opposition/how the game goes? Just a thought.
