Nice little tonic for those saying McClaren was worse than Pardew (at the time of his appointment). Did anyone on here say that? Cronky doesn't count. I know I responded to a fair few comments along the lines of 'It's another Pardew', 'another English dinosaur'. Anyway, hopefully this better style of play is what we see every week. How are those the same thing? What I, and a few others, said was that Steve McClaren was an unambitious appointment with a very patchy record. Not the significant upgrade the club should have gone for, and I stand by that. You don't think he's a significant upgrade on Pardew? He is but Pardew shouldn't have ever been anywhere near the club. You'll get no argument from me on that. To go back to the original point though, he's clearly a massive upgrade on Pardew imo.

Jack Colback doesn't deserve this amount of debate, he's only notable for how average he is.

Pardew never had any say in the way NUFC was run or how we constantly punched well below our weight in the transfer market. He basically picked the team, well for the league games anyway. Cabaye might actually rate Pardew as a manager. What he is saying is that NUFC should be doing far better than what we are which is 100% correct. Holding onto a manager who constantly picks talentless cloggers over our best players definitely falls into the category of what Cabaye was talking about. If he rates Pardew as a manager he's as stupid as he is a cunt. Woah, this person is really a very big fan of Newcastle United.

They deserve to go down and I'd happily see it, but to say they bring nothing is inaccurate. They do a remarkable job of cheering us up due to them always, always being shitter than us, even when they're regularly winning derbies.

He wasn't very good, he was OK, you're right about the determineds though. I'm not determined to hate him. I hate him. I can't understand how anyone can give him the time of day after his celebration/photo antics with the mackems the other year. (Cue Ian screaming that this shouldn't be held against him.) If he was a tremendous talent I'd ignore all that in a heartbeat but he's not. He's bang average at best and I don't want him playing for my club. I'd have done exactly the same as him in the derby game, loads of people calling you allsorts of crap then you get a chance to turn it back, f***ing right I would. Comes with the territory, man. You absolutely do not rub it in like he did then pretend to be Mr Geordie when your club picks you out of the bargain bin. How did he pretend to be Mr Geordie ? FFS man, he acted like a total bell end, and it wasn't an isolated incident, he did it on multiple occasions, not only in the heat of the moment but sitting on the team bus getting his photo taken. Just because you think you would've done the same it doesn't mean he's not an arsehole.

The ignorance of Pardew notwithstanding, Lowes and Anderson would never have said anything that negative about Carver's team. It's the same all over football as others have pointed out, no-one's got the balls to tell it like it is, but everyone is wise after the fact.

Noticed this during the 5 mins of radio coverage I caught. John Anderson saying that we looked like we had a plan, when for 'most of last season' we didn't. Yeah, if it was so obvious we didn't know what we were doing, how come you didn't mention it then John?

Nice to see the general feeling is positive I didn't see the game but I had a feeling that he might put together a team that's worth 90 minutes of our time every week.
