That's my point, to be honest. The alternative options don't seem to be much better?
-
Fair points mate. I just look at the extremely limited pool of managers that Ashley will pick from and wonder. Perhaps it would be better to have someone starting their career over someone who's career ended 20+ years ago?
-
Like Dave says though, Sherwood's only been in the job for 20 matches. Bit harsh writing him off as 'shit' imo. For me, if he can make a group of players 1% better than the sum of their parts, he's a better bet than Pardew.
-
I'd be willing to give Sherwood a go tbh. He's been in a bit of a weird situation in the Spurs job where he was given a very short contract and has been using it as a shop window to try and get himself a new job. Yeah he's come across as a bit of a tit, but we don't really know how he'd get on here other than maybe trying to score some goals. That would be canny, wouldn't it?

There's no stability case now, I've argued it before but it's long enough since we sacked a manager now. When was the cut off? I don't know, bit of a strange question. I just think we're no longer a club that sacks managers all the time. It's a bit of a strange thing to say, hence the question. So, are you glad we've laboured over the sacking of a manager that should have gone over a year ago? Have we gained anything by not sacking him? Well my opinion isn't that he should have been sacked over a year ago. Why?

He's just such a fucking dick.
-
Every time I've seen him this year he's been really good.

Pray that Pardew goes at the end of the season at the latest and that Hatem gives the new bloke a chance. All we need is a positive manager that will try and build a team around him, the manager doesn't even need to be THAT good, just positive.

The Official Alan Pardew Excuses Thread

Bobby Robson doing a good job here. -
5 minutes ago the commentator said that Pardew has done a 'really good job overall'. They then proceeded to absolutely tear him to bits based on him not playing Ben Arfa and how obvious it is that we can't actually play football. Everyone can see through this bell end, why is everyone so fucking scared to call him what he is?

Newcastle United vs. Swansea City, Saturday 19/4/14 @ 3pm (Not on TV)

Ok, I'm actually going to watch this one out of morbid curiosity. -
This fucking prick.
-
He'll probably be our next manager.
-
He's played a blinder with him again.
-
This summer is the big test. He's taking a more active role in the club so here we'll see what his intentions are. No fucking way, man.
-
Ahh. Another one that doesn't understand advertising. Next you'll be saying 'yeah but have you ever watched a car advert and then just gone out and bought that car?'. We've been having the conversation about Ashley's motives for the club for years as well. Long term exposure (ie 15 years) for his brand would have cost him there or thereabouts what he's spent. This way he gets SD anywhere and everywhere he wants, plus the extra column inches and mentions of SD anytime we're reported on. It makes perfect sense.

This is worth repeating.,,, Bellamy was undoubtedly a bell hat. Just after Souness forced him out Bobby was asked if he had problems with him. He said 'of course I did, but I loved him on a Saturday afternoon because he won me football matches.' That's management. You don't need a course or badges, you just need to be a man about it.

Absolutely mental line of argument isn't it Bloke's been brought up to question nothing whatsoever
