So half of you wants to be towards the top of the league, but the other half doesn't want to be near the bottom. Thanks for that insight Alan, it makes less sense than anything I've ever heard. The Pardew Paradox. That's the single worst quote he's ever made, without doubt. I cannot even put into words how f***ing terrible that quote is. It's genuinely something I'd expect someone to write in one of yheir miss the point of the argument and instead twist a few choice phrases from various posts and argue against that messages on here. Every manager comes out with these sort of quotes Aye SanToon I suppose you're right, at the end of the day we're all at the point where we'll hammer absolutely everything. Exactly, too many cyber tears in this thread IMHO It's all faux, all of it.

Because if Newcastle got to a final then the fans and City would not look forward to the day and/or enjoy it? I don't understand how this is a small club mentality? Also we have a 40k plus average for league games? I agree some of the cup attendances have been s**** but still... Hey, you've fluked your way to a cup final, good luck, enjoy it. The fact you're taking a lot more "fans" to Wembley than bothered to turn out in Sunderland for the semi against Manchester United and more than twice the number who turned out for your FA Cup 5th round tie does however smack of small club mentality, whether you admit it or not. Everyone knows that Sunderland fans and the sycophantic north east media have a whole catalogue of excuses for your embarrassing attendances but the most widely used one for the FA Cup tie was probably the lamest yet. You were all saving for a big day out in London :-) . Using that kind of mackem logic then Man City and Arsenal fans who sold out to 48,000 and 60,000 respectively on the same day mustn't bother with Cup finals or away trips to Europe etc. Getting to a cup final is a fluke? I must have missed something. I've already agreed that attendances were shite in previous rounds but I still don't get why it's a stick used to beat clubs with. We're shite, we're going nowhere and we've got a manager who is totally and utterly SAFC's bitch. It's all we've got. Your attendances are regularly shite and everyone and his dog knows they would be even worse if you weren't constantly begging people to turn up for free. I don't even know why you argue the point.

Newcastle United vs Aston Villa - 23/02/14 @ 1.30pm (Sky Sports 1)

Pardew actually doesn't know what being in control of a game is. It might sound like more criticism of a manager I think is completely fucking shit, but all the evidence needed is him saying we controlled the game that time we played at Anfield, kicked it at Ba's head (on his clearly audible instruction) and lost 3-0. -
400 days since Reading beat us 2-1 at SJP
-
Can't believe this slipped past unnoticed
-
Does the Arsenal model involve giving a fucking shit manager an 8 year contract?
-
Personally, I'd sack Alan Pardew. He's shit.

I'm a fan. I really really really want the club to improve, win, play good football, get into Europe, challenge for top 4.... all of it. I don't like the idea of bobbing around between 6th and 10th for the next ten years one bit. I'll get antsy if we don't make progress (or try to). I just think that right now we're about exactly where we should be in the league, as far as our squad goes. As far as my long-term patience goes, this summer is pretty important The fuck is this? Yeah, THIS summer will be the one that tells us what Ashley really wants.
-
Pre-emptive strike, just like his excuses (remember when saying he does that was similar to espousing theories on alien abduction?). Ben Arfa rightly wants away and Pardew's getting in there early to try and make it look like his decision.

I cancelled in June. Fwiw the 'agreement' with the club didn't show up on my file in any way whatsoever.
-
What a fucking arsehole.
-
Funny how this thread just rolls on and on like. He's just a shit manager, it was obvious ages ago.

Did Brown get sent off AGAIN?

You wouldn't deserve, nor should get one, ahead of a current ST holder at the time though. Hypocritical in the extreme tbh You're stopping going because Ashley is a b******, yet if the b****** (who you despise) by some strange quirk of fate/fluke delivered the chance of "glory" you'd want back in. That'd make you a glory hunter IMO. Hold on, hold on! What if one of those current season ticket holders only got the ticket this season? What if they weren't there through the relegation season? Or the Souness years? Pointless argument. If the guy wanted a ticket for a cup final, and got one, despite jacking in the season ticket, then deserving it doesn't come into it whatsoever. Of course it does, according to some this is the thinnest of the thin of times, therefore someone who supports the team in the leanest of shitty times damn well does deserve a ticket, over someone not there, if there is a glimmer in the darkness. I used to watch the Beckenbauer-esque Glen fucking Keeley week in week out, does that make me deserve any potential cup final ticket, does it fuck. To not attend matches, because we are shit, but then go to a potential "glory" game, is the very definition of a glory hunter. Stop it, man.

Well I'd agree with that. It's Ashley's fault, not the fans
-
There's really no need for the in fighting, like. I'm as keen for everyone to stop money going into the club as anyone, but I'm not going to start telling people it's what they SHOULD be doing. Likewise people shouldn't be ridiculed for thinking that stopping money going into the club is our only hope of causing change. After all, what else have we got? Also, this stuff about exactly WHEN you decide to cancel is unfair. No-one has the right to tell anyone else what their moral view is or should be.
-
I think there's more to it than meets the eye tbh, any sane person would back Laudrup to keep them up.
-
On balance of all probabilities, no - but they'll fuck up your credit rating. I cancelled on 22nd June and it didn't show on mine. Just checked my emails.
-
First of all, he does care, it's been proven multiple times. Llambias told everyone to stop calling him names or we wouldn't buy any players. Secondly, you think Ashley didn't know what JFK was like before he appointed him for the second time?
-
Keep seeing people asking what happens if you cancel after the deadline. Nothing. I was in the 9 year deal and cancelled in June or July. I lost the payments since February, but there was no other result. I've been checking my credit file for other reasons since then btw, nowt. You also retain your loyalty points.

Yeah, like .com do to other fans on that page I linked to. Kinda making my point for me again. What? Attendance through bad times is a badge of honour and a stick to beat you with, regardless of context. Our attendances have increased year on year for the past 4 years by the way. You've lost me. When did I make your point for you? I don't place any stock in what other fans say about us, I don't care. I can hold that view and still think the proposition that people are walking away now because we're 8th is the theory of an uneducated person, ie a fan of another club who has only a passing interest in our affairs.
