As well as Gazza, always loved http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/63481000/jpg/_63481458_1558659.jpg He seemed like a proper nice fella, and you could tell it meant everything to him, the way he used to celebrate some goals for England. Going further afield, playing on Sensible World of Soccer all the time i started to idolise http://blog.buddybet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/gullit16.jpg

Yeah he was great. A really good bloke as well by all accounts.

Hate to say it but I think you are in a classic downward spiral of crippling pessimism, bolstered by often plausible but ultimately false realities that I fear you believe are all too real in their consequences. You are at a stage now where I sadly fear there is no escape from your Pardew focussed dysphoric state as this forum just provides ample opportunity to maintain depression through constant defeatist re-enforcement and excessive rumination. Fuck all the long words - we're shit, it's his fault. Copyright DV.

this, is there honestly still anyone on here who doesn't believe he deserves the sack based purely on his performance over the last year? i know brett is one but is there anyone else? would love to see a poll like I can think of 3 who? inochi, ian w, brett? i don't think ian w and inochi would keep the fella like they just seem to revel in being contrary (might be wrong)....someone else is a bit pro-pards, happy face? By the way his performances from last season do deserve the sack just for the record, but i've just always maintained i wouldn't trust Ashley to hire someone to make me happy if he was ditched. Onnce decision was made to keep him, i decided to give him another season and another chance. So actually i do think in general Pardew's performances from last season should have earned him the sack under normal circumstances, but this club hasn’t got normal circumstances that's fair enough then really, i'm of the opinion he was so bad last season that he deserves to be fired come what may...worst comparison in the world i know but my work would fire me if i was s***, not worry about whether the next bloke was gonna be worse or not Yes but he hasn't been sacked so i'm not going to beat the drum going into a new season for him to be sacked. Rather get behind him and give him my backing and hope he manages to turn things around again, which i do genuinely believe he could do. Why do you think he can turn it around? There's nothing in his history that says he can? For the same reason people hope there's a heaven, it'd be nice. FWIW I'm an atheist. We've had this discussion many times before, usually Pardew has been sacked at this point... it's possible that he can improve given the chance he now has. Possible yeah. He's done though, he was done after Reading.

They looked like last season had just finished last weekend. They really did. they don't want to play for this joker, it's so obvious eh? but let's not assume anything, worst thing in the world is assuming...unless you're assuming our terminal decline is in no way related to alan pardew, of course No assumptions necessary, I sat and watched 0-3 and 0-6 and I know what a team looks like when it's completely bereft of confidence and given up on the manager. We've seen it plenty of times before. -

What Ashley bullshit? He signed up for this, this is his job, that he agreed to!

That's my prediction too. What a bunch of fucking Emos. On that note, I voted Lose by 1 but I've changed my mind to a draw -
You dare chose Maiga, if he scores all i'll be thinking about is you giving a sneaky little fist pump between your knees somewhere in the ground. More rage! Brett, stop being a dick.

Maiga or Cazorla this weekend?

Think this one will be a draw, and I feel optimistic. -
Period. Agree with the post btw
-
No it isn't. It's the theory involving Pardew being brought in primarily because they wanted a manager who would agree to having no say on transfers, in or out. Why else would you appoint Alan Pardew?
-
Put Laudrup in front of the Stoke squad and you are sure you wouldn't once think "hang in, this manager would do better if he was allowed to identify his own transfer targets"..? 100% agree with the rest of hour post. Once again, I am not defending Pardew, just arguing that he is being hung out to dry, which doesn't help an already limited manager, and merely replacing him (with one of the likely candidates) is unlikely to see us reach our potential. Our problems run much deeper. He's not being hung out to dry though. He's performing the role to the exact specifications he was given when he was offered the job.
