It was well documented and discussed last season that he doesn't even approach any offensive training. He focuses solely on how to stop the opposition and you can see it in the way we play. Apparently Carver looks after the offensive stuff but he probably gets Friday afternoon.

Been saying for absolutely AGES that we need more balance in the team and wide players on their natural sides, how many times i've had the Philip Lahm discussion I'm not sure. Is the penny dropping yet?

Increasingly looks to win a free kick rather than a team mate to pass the ball to, got caught out badly today.

About the best shout you'd have is dropping barfa behind the front two to link midfield. Putting your best 3 attacking players infront of Tiote, Bigi & Jonas today wouldnt have created wonderous football. Cabaye missing was a huge loss. The natural side line you're overplayng. I'm not overplaying it at all, it's a question of balance. 4-4-2 simply does not work with players on their wrong side. The lack of balance is at the very top of the list of problems imo. Been clear as day for fucking ages. Yep, major major issue. Highlighted massively by two games where we've created nothing until a left footer has come on, beaten a full back in his natural side and put a cross in....goal. It's staring everyone in the face. -

We were shite like, we really need an offensive coach. I say this every week, he's not addressing the issues we had last season, and I don't think you can blame it on lack of signings. I'm a bit sick of the positive being 'played shit but got a point/won against someone shit' every week. -

The defensive discussion is interesting but ultimately that front 6 should win us this game. Ba and HBA are purring and Cisse looks to be on the way back. Tiote back is massive and Jonas will do his job. I've got every faith in Bigi as well. -

Simpson's comfortably better than Perch IMO. Fair do's, I prefer his passing out of defence. -

Perch offers a bit more physicality than Anita at right back I suppose, one thing's for sure, Simpson shouldn't be getting his place back. He will though. -

Top quality source, there. Just a discussion point, nobody likes a smart arse. -
He said nowt wrong other than the stadium renaming farce.

Still talking about CL ffs! I think the progaganda is actually part of the job description, much like Pardew to a certain extent (but he tends to dampen expectations). Dalglish was the same and it's the reason he couldn't do anything about Suarez, when you talk your club up to a ridiculous level above where you actually are you simply can't do without your best player.
-
To be fair you could just do that bit and leave the rest.

Well, I thought Rodgers going there might ease my feelings towards them, he's not so bad I thought, seems an ok fella. What an absolute cunt.

Article about Abeid suggesting that Bigi will replace Cabaye. -
I tell myself that if we can get results playing mediocre football, think what'll happen if we start playing well. And to be fair, there are signs of improvement on that front. Exactly. It seems odd to me that Pardew has been very successful here and upon news of him signing a new contract every second post is about how easily we can still sack him.

A tooth infection once took me out of normal life for a week, never mind a premier league match. -
It's so simple you'd think it'd catch on

Just had that exact conversation in our office, never put nufc in there man! Not as confident as I was about this one with Cabaye and colo out -
Some of the stuff there about the kids is ridiculously negative

What are you on about man? Who cares about those clubs? We should look to continuously improve ourselves. That's it. Nothing else to it. Your assessment of how desperately we should add numbers to improve is obviously up for debate. We had the 3rd best form in the country from January onwards last season. Our current squad achieved that. As i mentioned before our best results this season have been without both Colo, Simpson & Tiote in part. What is your basis that suggests we should be going out of our way to match other clubs fee's to maintain or improve? Whats the basis for it beyond insecurity? Because the results dont back it up. What? We have been so fortunate with injuries in the last few years it's unreal. I see where you're coming from but I think as a cub we've turned a corner on this now. The training facilities have been upgraded and we're not seeing as many training ground injuries as before. Add to that the fact that our best player was out for a year with a broken leg and Saylor's half a season out last year and I don't think you can say we've been insanely lucky. Also I think we do our homework a bit better now in terms of injury record IF we're paying a transfer fee. p.s. there's also Tiote's regular month out at a time

Utterly gobsmacked. Funnily enough though it reminds me of Dalglish moaning on that they didn't get decisions and then getting every single one of them for the next few weeks. Ringing the head of the referees for fucks sake, who do they think they fucking are? Who the fuck do you think you are questioning Liverpool Football Club!? Who the fuck do you think you are questioning who the fuck I think they think they are?

I know you're jesting but there is probably a lot of truth in it. Having to renegotiate contracts in football must be a right ballache. You also have longer to wait until there's a pay rise upon signing a new contract. The long contracts absolutely make sense IMO.
