  1. i particularly like the bit where he says the reason they got so much for him was due to the timing of the sale. and people will still doubt whether money is ashley's main motivation and debate whether pardew has any power at all.
  2. MA didn't appoint Pardew so he could veto him. stopped reading
  3. Foul Throws and Dider Drogbra. my hates never change
  4. thats an extremely important point. final say doesnt mean give him the credit card and let him go wild. it means no-one comes or goes without his say-so, THATS what managers do. thats also Ashleys worst nightmare because he wants to able to accept/reject bids, hence alan pardew.
  5. Agreed! That really reflect the negativity that some is harboring. Instead of focusing on the joy of having extended the contract of what in imo is the buy of the season, they end up talking about him leaving us. What good will that lead to? Stop being so fucking depressing and enjoy the moment. this sort of reminds me of the faith vs evidence argument over gods existence
  6. That statement has several unconvincing moments, but to take one - is it really fair for Keegan to say that he doesn't want to talk about what went on with Ashley and then to go on and say that there were lots of incidents that would really shock us? If he's got something to say, he should say it and give Ashley the chance to defend himself. you mean like he would in court?
  7. good point. nolan won me over too fwiw, he's clearly very important to the team.
  8. that's a much wider problem than just football
  9. Whoever claimed it was? It's an opinion, albeit one that is more informed than most as he actually worked under them. Nothing more, nothing less. Yeah, that's kinda my whole point. His opinion, as you so rightly point out, is formed by close interaction with them, working under them so he's hardly likely to be objective. Because of that, his opinion on whether Pardew will or won't see a penny of the Carroll money, was only ever going to be going in one direction. the fact that his opinion is subjective is the reason he's getting interviewed and you aren't. So nothing to do with the fact he's both played for and managed Newcastle? wot

  11. yep, all based upon the fact that you cant possibly suggest a referee got something wrong. they're not humans, they're REFEREES
  12. IMO that would be covered in the 'you pick the team and thats it' clause of the contract.
  13. its a strange one, especially with him signing a contract renewal soon after, possible that he asked for a better contract to stay? and got one? pfft, who knows. i'm happy that he's still here for now.
  14. Eh? so he snubbed chelsea? does that mean nufc didnt? WHere was that quoted from? Saw it from BBC gossip, but entire article - 'http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1361098/Newcastle-star-Cheik-Tiote-happy-snubbed-Chelsea.html' absolutely nought in there regards to Chelsea mind, odd nonetheless. he snubbed chelsea? does that mean nufc didnt?
  15. We all do. I just have absolutely no idea what next season will bring, we could progress, but just as likely a few bollocks dropped in the transfer market and we could tumble down the leagues again. It would be bloody miracle the way things have been going for a fair few years now, to just get the whole way through without a change of manager. I think just that bit of stability would be a plus for me. when was the last time we started and finnished a season in the prem with the same manager? Robson possibly? Was pretty stunned when someone brought it up a few weeks back. crazy. agree that giving a manager a full season would be a good start haha, aye +1
  16. that's all fair enough man. my point though is that your post seems to be based upon reason, football based reason. saying getting rid of enrique, tiote and barton in one window would be suicide has to be based on footballing reason, because those players leaving would generate money in fees and us not paying their future wages. whether that would lead us into a downward spiral ending up in relegation and further loss of money is a separate debate. what i'm saying is, given what ashley's done in his time here, i think its reasonable to expect him to make the decision based on bank balance every single time, whether it be deemed by anyone else as football suicide or not. as far as i can see he's happy to keep us in the league because he nows we'll keep going and we'll keep getting the tv money, its a nice little earner and he gets his sports direct advertising which was the whole point anyway. he just got a little bit carried away with the whole keegan thing but he quickly remembered why he was here.

    Alan Pardew

They've had plenty of criticism for not talking to the media enough. i know that, but they just talk too much shit for my liking what kind of fucking prep work saw us 0-4 down at home to arsenal like? or maybe it was the analysis that got us 4 goals back? The players bottled it in the first half against Arsenal - no amount of analysis can prepare for that. Look at Real Madrid against Barcelona - do you think Mourinho didn't do everything in his power to analyse and prepare for that match? Sometimes things don't go to plan, but that doesn't mean it isn't encouraging that the management team are taking more thorough steps to try and get results. i was taking the piss man, of course it's good that we're actually preparing in this manner - what i don't like is that we're supposed to see it as new and revolutionary, we should be asking why haven't we been analysing our opponents and ourselves in depth for years what is there to say we haven't? results we never had a decent run of results in the last few years? it's classic diversion tactics man. 'we may not have done anything of use in the transfer window apart from improve the bank balance, but we're PREPARING FOR GAMES!!'. nice one alan, i suppose the players are training and eating healthily too? and they wear football boots you say? well thank fuck for that, i have faith in you now.
  18. love these posts. as if ashley is bothered about anything except money. Sorry, I'll try harder to make my opinions conform to yours in future. there's no way he'll fuck keegan about there's no way he'll not appoint shearer there's no way he'll sack hughton there's no way he'll put that sports direct sign on the gallowgate there's no way he'll sell carroll there's no way he'll sell carroll and not bring a replacement in i didnt say anything about you personally or your posts, just that one. the sooner people (including you it would seem on the basis of that) accept that ashley cares much much more about financial results than on the pitch results, the sooner all this will start to hurt us all a lot less.
