what in the name of bejesus is going on in here?
  5. haha, you still insist that one person with less than 30% of shares makes all these appointments then tells everybody about it later. You still defend the worst owner we have had in decades - because he hasn't "embarrassed" you yet - never mind, the way soopa mike is going it won't be too long before you will be wanting someone to come along and save the club just like the Halls and Shepherd did in 1992. I've long suspected you didn't really support the club back then and with every post you make expressing sentiments like this post you have just made, only re-inforces that impression. There is nothing that can change history, look at the league positions, the state of the ground, the esteem the club was held in inside the game, the crowds, anything you can think of pre-1992. Its people like you who change history ie the absurd notion you tried to peddle once that the Halls and Shepherd were "just the same" as their predecessors and the equally absurd picture you tried to paint that the club wasn't any better than when making excuses for Waddle, Gazza and Beardsley all wanting to leave the club to further their careers, like Shay Given may do now. Fact is, people like you wanted rid of fat fred for anyone because he "embarrassed" you, but you are now looking at a team on its way back to where the Halls and shepherd found it, and unless someone picks it up are going to be embarrassed a lot more than you were watching a team that qualified for europe regularly and was an established top division club. Take my word for it, if its alll going to be a new experience for you. personally i wanted rid of him because he proved himself to be utterly inept and was very very bad for the club, maybe micks motivation was different though? after all you would know, wouldnt you? so you think qualifying for europe more than everybody bar 4 clubs, filling the stadium, reaching a couple of Cup Finals, playing in the Champions League, attracting top players to the club including Englands main goalscorer, "is inept" do you ? The whole problem with people like you is that you just don't see or understand the reality of football and ambition in football, and even worse is we now have an owner who is showing you exactly how crucial it is, and you STILL don't get it. the whole problem with YOU is that you think because i didnt approve of shepherd that i automatically think ashley is great, i dont, and neither do others. so stop telling us what we think. i think shepherd's a muppet and so far ashley's been a disaster, do you get that? well, lets hope we get someone running the club asap who backs their managers and gets us back into europe rather than relegation. If you call that being a muppet, its your opinion, but I wonder what you would think of a muppet if we really had one. Oh, wait a moment .......... backing managers and getting us into europe doesnt count as muppetry in my book mate
  6. indeed, but it will be interesting to see how many will now agree especially those who blindly wanted "anybody but Fred" Or admit it. Who cares? Is point scoring that important? 'i told you so'

  9. what exactly is it about joe kinnear that makes people say this sort of s***? swearing doesnt equal passion, or 'fire', he's uninspiring and lame as f***, need proof? watch our f***ing team play Because it's true. He just happens to have no talent to go with it. no, no it isnt true. what is it about him thats passionate? he sounds like he's at a job centre interview every time he speaks. what on earth is passionate about him? provide an answer, dont just say its true....
  10. what exactly is it about joe kinnear that makes people say this sort of shit? swearing doesnt equal passion, or 'fire', he's uninspiring and lame as fuck, need proof? watch our fucking team play
  11. we're so shit we cheer joey barton coz he beats his chest, i cheered him aswell, i loved it. why? he's a fucking knob. thats how shit we are.
  12. Good post. However I doubt we'll be seeing any significant investment if at all on the playing side because Ashley simply isn't committed to the club. He's here to get his money back before leaving. By spending more of his money on players, he's only going to increase what he's owed back and thus the already difficult task of getting his money back. The reason why we haven't bought anyone is because the only money available to Kinnear is from any that comes in via player sales and that hasn't happened. He could salvage the club of course, but to do that would require commitment and doing away with the system he has in place, the people responsible for that, dispensing with Kinnear, replacing him with a good manager and backing that manager with cash. That just isn't going to happen. The club won't be turned around until he leaves and he ain't leaving until he gets his money back. Do you think he would consider a cut-price in the summer if most fans boycotted the games? (whether it'll happen is another thing obiously) its happening, he isnt getting another penny from me
  13. It wasn't an absolute disaster. Although it didn't end well we also had a few seasons that we could only dream off now.. because when john hall handed the reigns to fred we were a very good team, we got progressively worse under shepherd, souness, roeder, allardyce. people really need to remember what an idiot shepherd was, ashleys tennure so far has been shit, but dont even try and pretend that it means shepherd was good for the club once he was promoted.
  14. we're rubbish but that doesnt mean shepherd is devoid of all blame. his time as chairman (not major shareholder, whatever, he was the 'man at the top') was an absolute disaster, stop pretending it wasnt.
  15. i'm going tomorrow and i'm really looking forward to everything except the football
  16. well i've always said that if he's manager next season i wont be giving the club another penny until ashleys gone, kinnear saying this doesnt sway me either way, i'll decide when renewal time comes along
  17. i was in some awful pain right there, davey standing like partridge
  18. It's called "warming up" - you should try it next time...it might stop you being so useless for the first half of the match i dunno like, i've seen nicky butt 'warming up' before every match for 3 years
  19. i remember thinking appointing sammy lee was the worst decision i've ever seen in my life, does that count for anything?
  20. are you saying that what I've posted isn't correct ?
  21. Then why do the likes of KK, Capello, Wenger and Ferguson always bleat on about confidence? Aye, Owen scored at the weekend. What happenned? we f***ed it up. Not going to do his confidence good one iota. And its not just about confidence in ones own ability, it is about confidence in the team, and if Owen doesn't have confidence in his team mates, he is not going to have the full mentality to consistently put the ball in the back of the net. confidence doesnt eradicate quality a lack of confidence diminishes a players quality, i cant see how there can even be any argument against that. Might diminish it, but it doesnt eradicate it, the chances tonight were simple, put on a plate for him. exactly, he is physically able to do it and do it often, so why did he miss them tonight? and perhaps even more tellingly why did xisco miss a sitter too? because sometimes you miss. even the best players have moments when the even the basice evade them. absolutely, but that isnt justification for dismissing a lack of confidence as a reason
  22. The setup evidently still doesn't work by any stretch of the imagination if that is the actual series of events. i see where you're coming from but it depends on your definition of work, doesnt it? if we end up improving the squad then surely thats the ultimate test? not the series of events? It's on the verge of collapse at all times if that's what is required every time the manager wants a meeting, or to get a budget. just business isnt it? managers go to money men for more cash in plenty of areas, just the way of the world. anyway thats by the by, my point is if we improve the squad i dont think it matters how we get there. i.m.o. As billytray says though, why are we halfway into the only chance to amend the squad and relying on our manager whinging to them before they sort out the details? You're right in that the quality of the squad is the most important thing, but it concerns me hugely that they appear to have learnt nothing from the Keegan debacle. We're just lucky Kinnear is so desperate for this chance he'd not dream of walking out. regarding your first sentence if i was to give the benefit of the doubt i'd say because ashley is trying to run the club without spending too much money and being 'responsible'. or i could just say he's a tight cunt. i dont know. the reason i keep coming back to improving the squad being the ultimate test is because post allardyce i've been happy with our transfer policy tbh and i dont see any reason why they wont continue in the same way. its my last shred of optimism tbh.
