  1. But don't you also learn a lot about players when the going gets tough? A fair few players are made to look good if the rest of the team are doing well. I think easing him into the game is a bit more important than constantly testing him in difficult situations. Its a new league for him after all.
  2. We really needed to give Martins and Ameobi more support in the second half. There was no way the two of them could have held on to the ball in the opposition half all on their own.
  3. Wrong thread? Anyway, it was his decision making that annoyed me more than anything else today. Not something you'd expect from an experienced player like him.

    Argentina assistant coach you mean.
  6. Yep Martins played f***ing s****, like normal and ameobi played excellent, won every header and his passing was brilliant. you're mad, Ameobi's performance after the first 20 minutes wasn't worthy of a league 2 player What was Xisco's then? I'd like to see Xisco succeed as much as anyone by the way, but frankly speaking Xisco was just... bad.
  7. God, I wonder how long some of you have been watching the Toon for. I could name you 200 more "shambolic disgraces" than tonight over the last 20 years. go on then, http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=57265.0 Take your pick.
  8. Were you even watching the game? If anyone was giving the ball away freely it was Xisco. Tbf, Shola was getting penalised just for touching the ball in the last 20 minutes or so.
  9. Thought Xisco or Zog should have came on around the 60 minute mark, we were looking very stale by then. If West Brom had some quality in their ranks we would have drawn this one, but we should never have conceded that goal in the first place. How did a gap that large appear between the centerbacks?

Waaaaasssssssuuuuuuuppppppp wiv yous brothas dis half? seriously, yous brothas iz playin frigin wak. fe real yous ameobi, do yous got da bruk leg or wot? only use yous could be iz if yous tackled batty Butt so he'd bus' iz legs. now go win dis match boys. fo sho. Is it coz I is black?
  11. Don't be so sure about that, its more of a move from our bench to their bench. we dont need players who can beat 3 men but then keep the ball till they run it out or give it away. n'zogbia has loads of talent.....i'm not convinced he'll ever fulfill it. I'm not convinced that we'll sign anyone remotely comparable in January.
  12. Failed to live up to his potential big time at the age of 22... aren't we being a little harsh? Half of it isn't even his fault. I'd be fucking livid if he goes, tbh. Nevermind for 4 fucking mil when James Milner went for 3 times that.
  13. What? Every time he plays he delivers plenty into the box, its not his fault that no one's there to finish them off.
  14. No way in the world they have a better squad than us ours may not be that big but there is certainly lot more quality than most teams in the Premiership. Our loss was down to a managerial cock up. Oh for fucks sake. There's been nothing wrong with Joe Kinnears management, why the fuck are our supporters do keen to sink the boot in and blame someone? And those suggesting that we wouldn't have lost if Keegan was in charge are deluded. It wouldnt' have made a difference. They played better than us, you know, it happens. As for their squad being better than ours, I think you either seriously over-rate our players or seriously under-rate theirs. Agree with Joe Kinnear doing a good job overall, but he really did screw up the substitutions in the last couple matches. Their squad is hardly a different class to ours, and had we started with Jonas and Barton we probably wouldn't have to bypass the midfield every time we tried to attack.
  15. I wasn't expecting anything positive to come from his appointment, so no? Still waiting to see if he has the nads to drop the underperformers - 3 matches should have given him enough time to assess the squad fairly.
  16. Didn't we have matty pattison, martin brittain and nicky butt playing in the same team at some point...
  17. Reading the thread topic on a mirror? From the current squad, Enrique perhaps?

He looked a very decent player even before the likes of Elano and Petrov came into the team, actually. Jo reminds me a lot of Adebayor. He could still be one to watch if he adapts quickly enough...
  19. I did believe that he would score when he got the ball though.
  20. I'd like to keep both in our team...
  21. Mind you, if Shola played the way he did yesterday all the time he wouldn't be getting half the flak he gets on here.
  22. Shame we don't play them until sunday :colo: oh well
  23. Rofl, I'm actually starting to feel optimistic about Everton tomorrow
  24. Thought Cacapa did better in midfield last week than in defense yesterday, actually. Physically not quite up to it in CB.
