http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/res/images/photos/People/PlayersAgents/WilliamMcKay.jpg We meet again , Mr McKay PS: We're apparently going to sign Michael Ball. Been on trial and apparently he's made the grade so we'll be taking him on loan for the rest of the season

http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/07/uk_politics_enl_1170159528/img/1.jpg I'm not sure which one of those is the Casino "The casino would be based at Sportcity in the Beswick area, close to the City of Manchester Stadium. The proposed site will also contain an entertainment complex with a range of facilities such as a multi-purpose arena, a swimming pool, an urban sports venue, restaurants, bars, a nightclub and a hotel. "

Interesting question! I may have an answer, although its not a Newcastle story so bear with me. First things first, this casino is going to be built at SportCity (Where the City of Manchester Stadium is, there's a whole load of other shit there like an Athletics track, squash courts and whatnot) Secondly, someone who is very interested in this super-casino gubbins is a guy called Philip Anshutz. An American Billionaire who owns the Millenium Dome (Which was also in contention for this), as well as the MEN Arena, and a whole stack of sports teams including 3 in the MLS (LA Galaxy among them), LA Lakers, LA Kings... Thirdly, on 29/12/06, PurelyManCity suggested that this guy was the mystery man behind a reported takeover at City. (Good site) I can't help but feel that this news would make him very interested. And even if its not going to result in some jolly old leprechaun bring us his pot o' gold, we should at least see the Metrolink extended into East Manchester as a result.

There are some bizzare teams there. Dom Raynor is at an immediate disadvatage, he only has 10 men IMO, At the moment its: James Richards Yobo King Baines Lennon Arteta Barton Pedersen Berbatov Martins Bench: Given, Lescott, Faye(Not that one), Bentley, McCarthy

What kind of bookie would accept a £2m bet?

Blatantly using heated balls to get a Chelsea-Manure final. Tie of the round: City vs their next manager
-
Not quite. He has "been offered the job and has accepted it" but City have not given him permission. City clearly dont want him to take the job...so what is odd is, how has he got himself into the of making a decision over the position? Surely - if the FA want him - their first port of call should be our board and asking if they would mind if they offered him the position part time. But no, they've offered him the job first? You expect these kind of things with Willie McKay and co, but being tapped up by the FA? FFS BTW, its highly debatable whether or not he's good enough manager for City - he certainly isn't good enough to manage England's future, let alone do both jobs. I'm certainly not happy with him taking the job and I hope the board will put their foot down and make him choose a job .

Ya he's scored a few own goals (I can think of 3), he's had a few dodgy games (Wigan away this season, ouch), but from week to week he, along with Distin, are excellent, especially for a team of our level. We've kept 10 clean sheets in the league this season - Of all the teams in the league only Liverpool (14) have kept more. With Dunne, Distin and Richards (But not Jordan) our defense is comfortably better than most - we're almost totally reliant on it to earn our points...have you seen our strikeforce?!? So no slagging em off And no, he's not out of shape any more.
-
Easily of the same standard as any listed there.
-
Richard Dunne is a good player > One of the worst defenders in the league? FFS man, have a word with yourself. Him and Distin are one of the best partnerships outside the top 4. PS; for those who are interested I'm not sure on Distin going to Spurs. I'm more or less resigned to him being off in the summer but I'm not sure how much there is to this talk about bringing Mido to City. Not heard anything but baseless speculation on that, but we're also being linked to some bloke from Heerenveen - Alfonso Alves - and he has actually confirmed we're after him. Could be a little more to that one.
-
I can't for the life of me think who this is. The only player that springs to mind is Paul Stewart but we were in the 2nd division when he played for us.

He's not from Manchester, he's from Bury. Poor old Gary. Local pride took Shearer to Newcastle, I think its local pride that has meant Gary Neville has worked so hard throughout his career, in the hope that one day he'll be good enough to play for his local team. This article is more of a cry of frustration that he's not been able to improve enough to meet their desperately low standards and is instead left with fellow reject "Ryan" and the rest of those cunts.

Newcastle and Man City table £250,000 Braafheid bid - DENIED
Dr Spectrum replied to James's topic in Football
News to me...I had heard we were intererested in another dutch left back (I think he's called Tim de Cler?), but we've already had 2 LB over on trial this month...we're are definetly in the market for one so its probably true that we're interested. I presume that getting a mention in the same article means your interest is true too. Never heard of this guy tho. PS: Physique: http://www.stichtinggo-all.nl/edson.jpg -
Taking out the silly options (Sorry TT), there is Danny Mills, who is a bit shit but is definetly available for any kind of transfer, although he is injured; and Sun Jihai, who can play anywhere on the pitch (altho his positional sense isn't great), and is just coming back from a long injury layoff so its unclear what his future is. I doubt your mystery man is either of them.
-
I think it's going to be him. I doubt it. You would have had him by now if you were interested. If they were willing to let him here for trials I doubt they would think twice about letting him go up there. None of this "hoping" and "next 48 hours" bollocks. And I also doubt there would be any level of secrecy over such a nothing player. PS: He's full of shit. His comments make no sense unless for some reason Pearce was planning to play him on the wing.
-
"I don't care what you say, its my ball and if I'm not getting picked i'm going home. >"
-
We had him on trail last week. Fucked him off after 2 days. Apparently he turned up smoking a fag - and it was all downhill from there.

Why are City buying another "big" striker? Samaras? Corradi? Is there any logic behind it? Could one be leaving? Would have thought getting a pacey striker a better shout, as you seem to agree. Stuart Pearce has many qualities. However, having half a brain is not one of them. Up front last season we had Andy Cole- I thought he was a great player for us, much better footballer than I ever thought he was - We played great football around him and he helped Vassell get into double figures. This season we have replaced him with Bernardo Corradi - Who is shite at everything but jumping and we're doing nothing but punting up at him. Even when he's been out of the side we're still playing the long ball game. Its absolutely shite to watch and woefully inneffective, we cant create a chance for shit and if we didn't have such a good defense we'd be going down. We desperately need an Andy Cole/Robbie Fowler type player, someone who's strength is with the ball at their feet and not that good in the air, who we would play football off instead of some lump, Samaras could probably be that player but because he's tall hes a target according to Pearce and we lump it up to him too. Our strikers this season have scored 4,2,1 and 0 goals respectively in the league this season - and only 1 of those away from home. Absolutely shite return under any circumstances...so whats the answer? To me, we need to change tactics. To Pearce, its apparently buy someone else. :'(
-
Trevor Sinclair definetly deserves to be in there. He's only 33 but he's shot to pieces and has been absolutely woeful this season. Some people here seem to have a downer on Duff, past his best apparently? You wouldn't know the meaning of the word until you've seen Tricky Trev's feeble attempts to weave his magic on the wing. Beat a man? He can barely beat the halfway line. I'd put Corradi ahead of Heskey too. He's pretty shite altho there a probably worse (Darius Henderson?) PS: Robinson HAS to be the goalie.
-
"The price" is £3m apparently. Not keen myself on bringing him to City myself. Nothing against him as a player, I think he'd do a good job for most given consistent games, if you can put up with the strops, occasional weight gain, the bi-annual disappearance to the African Nations Cup and the flood of juvenile egyptians who would inevitably flood this forum. Its just that we're already a hopelessly dull long ball outfit, we most definetly do NOT need another target man type forward. If we do sign him I'll probably gauge my own eyes out rather than go thru the pain of watching Richard Dunne punt it up the pitch 50 times a match. I want City to sign someone with no aerial presence :'(

On trial at City as we speak

I find this version of the same song much more entertaining. In a "Good grief, thank fook he supports them" sorta way.
