This was fun. I guess I'm back to having no interest in football again.

 He couldn't hide it at all.

Fuck my bet and still go through. Fucking standard.

I put my current disdain for the club aside and thought 4/9 was just too good to pass up so chucked NUFC in an accumulator tonight. Looks like I've not lost my touch.

The 'angry' teammate coming to his 'keeper's defence looks so strange. Such a casual jog, stops dead so weirdly it's almost a little skip, then gives him barely a tap. What's the point.
-
Of course I switched captaincy from Vardy to De Bruyne last minute.

Agreed. Actually started typing similar but worded it terribly and gave up. You'd figure long-term you'd be more successful mopping up those shit pens than getting lucky.

Wow. Whole new level of brazen fuckery.

Think I'm just going to become a Wrexham fan.

I've never contributed to one in my life but isn't that one of the biggest caveats of sites like Kickstarter; there's a chance your contributions go down the drain? This being the reason I've never put money in to one of these things. Obviously that's separate from the morality/ethics of it and I could be wrong in my understanding anyway.

Seems like they're still going with the 'we're trying' line. The doc's Twitter went quiet after being crazy active in Feb but randomly retweeted Caulkin last month. Agreed on the name of the doc, though. They seemed to dress it up as a challenge on the Kickstarter blurb. They're either purposely trying to make it a challenge just for the story or talking shit considering as WBCP says, they could've just used a few connections to gauge his interest. He was doing an NUFC-specific interview with the Guardian less than a year ago so it's not like he's shunning the world.

People actually watch this? Surely one of the joys of watching from the comfort of your own home is not to have someone like this in your ear all game?

He even has Souness grinning like a child. They can't ditch him.

Hadn't heard about this before. Seems a bit of a mess. Just checked out the Twitter they set up for it and he was active on it in Feb, including a rebuttal to the above rumour. Then went dark again until randomly retweeting Caulkin in August. Don't listen to Pod on the Tyne and don't know much about Taylor and/or Besty in general (I seem to recall seeing them split opinions on here in the past) but would happily give any Albert and/or 5-1 related efforts a go so I hope something still comes of it. That Taylor is a absolute cunt, I'm sure I've said it before on here... Might've jogged my memory on the split opinions. He the one that called you a virgin?

Same as Disco, stopped listening a couple of years back. Luke was always relentlessly annoying for as long as I listened and Jim is fine as a straight man but boring as all hell if the other 'entertaining' ones aren't actually entertaining so when Pete's schtick got old as well there wasn't much worth listening out for, especially when there started being more and more drops to try and keep up with. If a few of us on here had somewhat similar feelings I guess it's not a surprise they've tried to shake it up but it sounds like it's come at the expense of losing even more of what made the show so good; that it was just four mates having a chat.

As Beans says, I think if you've got the patience for it it could be interesting but you have to treat it like a stock market; either try for some quick asset flips or sit back for months or even years to see true changes in value. I slapped a couple of hundred in around September/October last year, got bored of it and withdrew November, breaking even unsurprisingly. In the year since, I think like 5 of the 15 players I'd 'invested' in have gotten moves to bigger clubs, in turn bumping their value. The whole dividends thing seems bollocks to me in that you don't get much value so I feel like you just need to take a plunge on some youngsters and hope they pan out. I keep wondering if the player prices will plateau at some point, which I guess will come if the amount of money being pumped in slows up at any point, but player values are still rising it seems.

Only just saw this. Wish the insufferable prick went for this line of conversation when I had to put up with him during lock ins. Wouldn't been much more entertaining.

I pulled Willian completely to spend elsewhere on the team. Mulled over captaining Auba and decided against it (Vardy better have a stormer on Monday). Also completely pulled the wrong Liverpool full back as far as today's concerned. And lastly decided to leave Bamford on the bench in favour of Mr 2 Points Ayew. All in all I think week one perfectly sums up how I expect the rest of my fantasy league season to play out.

Bought for £5m. Sold for £2m. And I'd now probably take him over a £40m record signing. Fair play to him.
-
Agreed that playing time often factors in to a player deciding where he does/doesn't want to play. Of course, in Hayden's case he was close to wrapping up an entire half a season of consecutive starts when last reiterating that he wanted away.
