Yeah.. I'd be surprised if anyone on here felt bad for that prick.

Nope, sounds like he’s got another offer now too. Classic jinxing. Well done CFlan.

Yeah it was only PIF specifically that withdrew. But they're 80% of the funding. A takeover might still happen, but I feel like that's saying this is a continuation of Staveley's 2017 attempt. She probably does still want to get it done; she's put a fuck ton of effort in to this. But she needs to find the backing and then.. *shudders*.. get it over the line. Reubens don't seem like they're interested in anything other than cementing their development opportunities in the region so aren't going to stump up for the controlling stake, and I feel like that was all but implied in their one and only statement since PIF withdrew. And Staveley obviously needs the financial power of other parties to make this happen or she would've done it herself already.

Why do you keep ignoring we have heard from PIF already? They're out. They were funding 80% of it. Of all the parties involved that's a pretty f***ing big one to get that statement from. And if everything else reported or commented on is BS, that means we ignore all the s**** being spouted about how it's now being handled 'behind closed doors'.. right? Because even AS and the Reuben Brother's ignored it? Manopark is getting some totally uneccassary grief here. Just an optimistic bloke who is excitable and wants the best for the club, so what if he's slightly annoying with it? Some serious projecting going on in here you bunch of incels. Yes indeed, all I am saying is because we have not been told anything about the final outcome, we should just wait (instead of 'jumping in to say it is dead, etc !!). No one knows what the outcome will be, so lets just do the obvious "waiting" thing, yeah? The hope of this takeover is the only thing that connects me to the club. Once I'm satisfied that this is dead I don't think I'll be following the club with any real seriousness. If there's even a 0.1% chance of this happening then we should be fighting for it till the very end because we already know what the alternative is, so why the f*** would you accept that? The irony in all this is that the same ones who are slating you for being "optmistic" (realistic imo) have given up and accepted that, much like the fans who go to games who they also slate for that very same reason. Yes, I think the "pessimists" on here just like to have a go at me, and others, just because we explain things factually, and because we do not join them in their eternal pessimism. I am going to stick with the facts as they are, until we hear anything else. You have never once posted 'facts' in regards to the takeover. In fact, you deliberately ignore one of the few facts we publicly have available which is the official withdrawal of PIF There has never been an official withdrawal, just a public statement, and we all know that could have been made for various reasons. I am going to stick with the facts as they are, until we hear anything else. Premier league statement. Wake up, sheeple. The buyers withdrawing and the governing body accepting that withdrawal is just a negotiation tactic.

No one knows what the outcome will be, so lets just do the obvious "waiting" thing, yeah? Whilst you’re waiting will you be still supporting the team? Still going to games? Still backing the manager? How are you defining waiting? Waiting to hear the outcome. Re NUFC, I will always 'support my club' but I will never go to matches while we are still subjects of Ashley's dictatorship. He gets no money out of me. Not trying to be a dick or anything with this question manor, purely asking as we're obviously on opposite ends of the positivity spectrum, but how long do you think you'd be prepared to 'wait' for positive news before giving in? A few more months? A year? More? I only ask as all I see at this point is it continuing to 'fizzle out' out without any further direct statements of substance from any of the involved parties, particularly when you look at this club's record of takeover attempts that have disappeared without a trace under Ashley.

Don't even remember the Pearson one which is weird because that's easily the strangest out of the lot. He's so creepy.

Can't wait to see Schar go for half of what he could've gone for last summer, too. Back to the business model to end all business models. Feels good.

https://metro.co.uk/2010/04/27/steven-taylor-and-carles-puyol-tipped-for-shock-barcelona-newcastle-swap-267261/ If only this happened Knowing this club he would've somehow turned in to Cacapa 2.0.

Christ. 24 years old and other than 26 Championship appearances in 15/16 he's played no more than 12 league games in a season. Not saying that's an indicator of anything, just surprises me as I felt like I'd heard his name a lot over the past few years so thought he'd been a lot more involved than that.

Not doing any research of before I place mine. Actually putting effort in to losing money just makes it all the more painful.

I always forget to do these kind of bets. Might stop in a bookie this evening.

Rookie numbers. Gotta pump those up. FFS.

We live in the age of the permanently offended. No we don’t. Calm down snowflake.

One of the comments ruined it for me by pointing out how the remote disappears from his hand between the cut of him walking to the TV to then turning it off, reminding me of how scripted it'll be. Obviously going to watch it still.

Correct, everyone is now silent, that is how it always should have been, but that is how it is now and it will remain that way until a decision is reached. We just need to WAIT. Cheers manorpark, even if it's all bollocks you cheer me up no end. There are some right miserable barstewards on here. Thanks mate, nice to read a friendly comment!

The really sought after players like those you mentioned wouldn't come to us anyway, they would have far better options. Even with the takeover we'd have had to buy interim players to get us moving in the right direction before we would be able to attract the best young prospects ahead of the big clubs. It's a cycle; if he wasn't penny-pinching to the extent he does, the club would be much more attractive to those players. And let's not forget that the club was normally linked to such players at stages of their career where they were much more attainable. It seems with a lot of these players if Ashley hadn't fucked around on prices for so long he could've had them before a more enticing offer came along.

Bruce/Pardew shit off innit. Imagine wanting to start a Bruce or Pardew debate. Is this lower than our 'pass or hoof' debate in the Carroll thread the other day or not? It's close, very very close I suppose rather than considering them new lows we just accept this is now the standard of NUFC conversation. Only makes sense the standard of discussions surrounding the club get dragged down as low as the standard of the club itself.

 You couldn't make it up. Except you could. Because it's textbook Bruce and NUFC.

He started in place of Tiote. And, for the record, we were losing 1-0 before they had their second player dismissed. So yeah, he tore apart 9 man Stoke. I'm sure there are better games to make the point you're making. Weird thing to pull him up on tbh I wasn't pulling anybody up on anything. It's a weird game to use as an example. Hs performance against Liverpool would be my goto. Think choosing that game was to make as much a point of how Pardew handled him by not trusting him for the next game that it was to say that was his stand out performance at the club. Agreed with LFEE that it's the WBA game for me as far as my favourite performance.

Any son of Andy Woodman's is a son of Newcastle's imo.

I stand by it. Don't even know why I care as I can't deny my petty grudge against Lascelles since he defended Ashley. Just seemed a strange thing to push as a hoof when we were loving the pinpoint long balls from other defenders the past couple of years. Only difference is Lascelles doesn't try them as often and when he does, normally fucks them up.

I'll never get over how Suarez was able to get more power in a header than I'd manage with my feet. And an absolute delight seeing Pickford at the end.
