  1. Look forward to reading the transcripts of that Geordie baiting session. I think you’ll find Simon Jordan will be very much on our side. Balanced no doubt but he’s no fan of the EPL. I always thought he loved to rile our fans up. Am I getting him mixed up with someone else? Is Steve Parish a prick about us?

  3. I'm glad he's staying put, especially over going to Man U. But I dread to think of the 'saga' that will now continue all the way through to next summer. The past few months of rumours alone already got tedious.

    Transfer rumours

I'd be really intersted to see a 'hit rate' of NUFC youth players who eneded up playing at a fairly high level compared to other PL clubs. I'd guess it would be too hard to quantify what a 'hit' would be though, especially when they start going to the Romanian leagues. Just can't believe how many of our 'wonderkids' have fallen in to obscurity.
  5. When is this 'ohh 90s is so vintage' fad going to end? Sick of these ugly as fuck patterns already. Saying that, following the link to .co.uk and ASM wears it well.. albeit in a drawing. Was it all really so last minute they couldn't get any players in to it for a quick shoot?
  6. The test is only for the PL, at least the PL have a test unlike many european leagues. PIF should just buy us regardless of PL approval, then apply to join one of those European leagues instead. The Scots would welcome us with open arms. I think PIF should buy us and see if the PL stop us from playing in their competition. We can always apply to play in the Scottish league in the meantime if they say no. English football would be a miss, but at the same time it wouldn't exactly be the worst thing either. Think I'd prefer to compete in the Scots league rather than continue to be used as bog roll to clean the arses of the established top 6. Oh and I would like to think that losing Newcastle from the Premier might hurt that competition too. They should, the PL can't suspend the club unless they actually make a decision. Although the rules state that a director should not be appointed until they have received confirmation that they are not liable to be disqualified, the rules on suspension of a club under the O&D test require that confirmation of liability for disqualification of the directors is issued before the club can actually be suspended. In theory Ashley could just appoint all of the proposed directors while he still owns the club and force the PL to make a decision. Imagine that face turn from Ashley. Think I'd actually forgive him the past thirteen years if he did that.
  7. Strikes me as the kind of player that could hover around the 8-12 goal a season mark fairly regularly in the PL but it'll always be for a relegation battler for a reason. If he's the main focal point he'll get those goals but any team that needs to make him the main focal point probably won't be very good e.g. Rondon only scored two more PL goals last season than Mitro in our relegation season, yet obviously Rafa saw that he'd offer so much more to the team dynamic than just those goals, whereas Mitro just.. wouldn't. More than happy to be proven wrong as I do still have a soft spot for Mitro, the mental bastard he is.
  8. One scroll through this creep's timeline makes it plainly obvious this is no 'football friend'. Mental it's up to 1.3k likes. Do we really have to sink to sunderland depths on top of the fucking mess that's already out of our hands?
  9. Well this was a fun few months back on the forum. Not that I ever contributed anything of note. All the best, folks.
  10. Wow. I know Dalglish was a nothing player but I figured as he quickly sunk down the leagues he found his level at some point and grabbed some goals. Just looking at his Wiki and nope. 22 in 202 appearances. He was supposed to be a striker, wasn't he?
  11. Sorry if it's already in this thread but what documentary? Is it available to stream?
  12. We always have to take it too far, don't we?
  13. Not his real account. Poor bloke.

    Sunderland

Why on earth is Twitter talking about a Vince Mcmahon takeover? Can't even get their own takeover rumours ffs.
  15. At least we'll be able to see actual results to find out over time whether he was deserving of the role. Unlike Shola and his oh-so-integral loan director role.
  16. Yeah I don't really see anything new there. They're just reiterating it's for the PL to decide. They're not going to come out and say 'don't worry, we'll sort this out', are they? And rightly so. If the Government indicated in any way that they'd help push through this kind of takeover for an opposing PL club we'd be raging.
  17. You'd figure somewhere in contracts there'd be a disclaimer that it can't guarantee absolute 100% accuracy? Either way, will be interesting to see the outcome for sure.
  18. It's a pretty shocking attempt at proving a point. Could've just done a simple comparison of the second half of each season which still would've shown NUFC in 8th last year and 16th this year but they've clearly just played around week by week to get us in the most damning spots. Enough other things to hate him for without stretching the stats. Like being a shitehouse of a human being.
  19. This is the only way I'd say it's affected me. But if it wasn't the takeover I'm sure I'd just find something else anyway.
  20. Tbf if that's true it might be the only story I've found him even slightly endearing in.
  21. I suppose when you think of it like that he was integral to their winning the title.
  22. Expected to see a few replies here and there but the whole thing is just furious NUFC fans.
