  1. Not that the two are anywhere near in the same league, but when Pardew was given players like Ben Arfa we all said a good manager should adapt the game to suit his best players, particularly attackers. The narrative always changes for Rafa, it's like admitting hes not perfect makes you less of a fan, its like a weird cult thing which actually makes the deluded tag seem less of a myth. I try to avoid having an opinion in this thread but come on, man. Of course the narrative changes in those instances. Because a player of Ben Arfa's ability coming to our club was a coup at that point, and Pardew had no proven track record of how to get the most out of players, barring the 5th season never looking like he had a cohesive plan. He was the one that wanted 'magic' to see us through, so why the fuck didn't he pick the most magic player we had? This time, it's one of the most proven managers in world football, with one of the most proven track records and tactical minds around. You're surprised people have more trust in Rafa than fucking Pardew? Cult FFS. Can't believe someone has even brought up the old 'if it was Pardew' debate for this.

Classic Mike Ashley. Probably sat in the corner with a big fuck off grin on his face, too.

Tubestationatmidnight - dropping truth bombs since way too fucking long.
  4. As much as we need the media on our side it'll be pretty galling to have Talksport banging the anti-Ashley drum when weeks ago they were posting pathetic shit like this:

Yup to HTT and ON. I've fonder memories of the 'mercenaries' than the try-hards most of whom, don't get me wrong, I have respect for. But if the owner of our club actually wanted to move forward, those mercanaries wouldn't have been so desperate to leave.

    José Mourinho

If he doesn't pull off a miracle at us it's the only place left for him to go. He'll be done at the top level. Wouldn't be surprised to see him just wait it out for the Portugal gig if/when he leaves Man U in the new future.

I have never heard anybody say that. But a large section of our support hold him in such high regard, despite having one good season out of four here. He definitely is described as having done that, if only by the lazy media. Pretty ambivalent about him tbh, he was superb in the game against villa during that drubbing but I’ve little time for these token pandering attempts. When they say that, isn't it more because he loves to bleat on about how he was part of the group that took control off the pitch after relegation? Maybe he was a good figure behind the scenes but I hold him in no regard whatsoever. His comment to NUFC fans to support Fleetwood was just small-time, which is what he has generally always been. Loved currying favour when on the pitch he only did well when he had Carroll to aim for. Even the season we sold Carroll, his performances took a near-instant downturn when AC was gone. He may speak the truth about Ashley which I appreciate but everything else about him has always been insufferable to me.

    St James' Park

Asked a couple of pages ago if he was getting leeway on Twitter as he's a local, as people have been extremely cordial in response. If that was a pundit or more obvious Ashley stooge spouting the defensive bollocks he is they'd be rightly vilified. Seems to me like it's Ashley's 'didn't see it so its not my fault' attitude festering down to the staff. Even down to the point of 'well yes you told us, but tell us like this'. Laughable that in the day and age of companies having dedicated customer service Twitters, apparently making club staff aware of issues via Twitter (because they don't listen via any other medium either) is just a case of trying to point score.

    St James' Park

Can't believe he went with the 'scoring points on the internet' theory. He seems to have had it fairly polite on Twitter after that dickish comment; am I guessing people are giving him leeway as he's a local?

  18. Why would such a company get caught up in such drivel? Fucking idiots.
  19. I swear black and white striped is the only tie I've ever seen him wear. Scummer probably owns just the one.
