Not that the two are anywhere near in the same league, but when Pardew was given players like Ben Arfa we all said a good manager should adapt the game to suit his best players, particularly attackers. Yup to HTT and ON. I've fonder memories of the 'mercenaries' than the try-hards most of whom, don't get me wrong, I have respect for. But if the owner of our club actually wanted to move forward, those mercanaries wouldn't have been so desperate to leave.

I have never heard anybody say that. But a large section of our support hold him in such high regard, despite having one good season out of four here. He definitely is described as having done that, if only by the lazy media.
