  1. Since when did we start doing that squad number order bollocks for lineups?
  2. Football is so shite. Why am I all gleeful that we'll have moved up a 'pot'? Looking at their other projections, we'd still be firmly in pot 4 for Champs League with that coefficient and pot 2 of 6 if Conference League.
  3. I mean, it's inconsequential to NUFC fans, so I don't know why we'd be offended by what he said. It's less a dig at the club and more just a pre-emptive excuse for his own. Unless there's more context in the interview I wouldn't be impressed as a Spurs fan. Extremely reductive take and gives me Pardstastic 'we're better off without Europe' flashbacks.
  4. Start as you mean to go on, I guess.
  5. Henry Winter's or Pu55yman Dan's pal's?
  6. Obviously I agree that redundancies can be awful for many people but I couldn't help but be tickled by this anecdote in response. 'All the best Henry, don't lose your house I've seen it happen'. Very interesting decision though as he seems so widely respected. One of the few journalists whose name I see shared and actually bother to see what he's got to say.

    Garang Kuol

Yeah that's a whole different argument and I'm totally in favour of the abuse of loans to be cracked down on. But until then (and I assume then will be a long fucking time away) I'd rather the loans themselves go under the radar so we're not shitting our pants about the development, or lack thereof, of young players that we may never play a minute for NUFC.

    Garang Kuol

I really don't think this is worth analysing all that much right now. Kuol hasn't been a hit, Minteh is looking pretty sweet. That's a 50/50 hit rate on our most obvious attempts to build value in loaning youth out. Some are going to work and some aren't. Until we start failing with a large percentage of multiple players it's not nearly enough of a sample size for anyone to know if it's the player or the club's decisions at fault. Everyone wants this lad to be getting definitive minutes but he wasn't even a regular starter at the A League club he made his name with. Yet, and maybe I'm wrong, I imagine there'd have been equal fume if this pretty hyped up youngster got dumped in League 2 when he first arrived. I said before but I can't wait until we've got a ton of these loans going because hopefully we won't have the time or effort to overanalyse every single one.

    Joelinton

Could offer a buy one get one half price deal.
  10. He looks a fun player but I'm not prepared to get my hopes up. I can see Eddie keeping him around for a few games pre-season to evaluate but I won't be surprised to see him sent on loan again and just hope it's either back to Feyenoord if they want him or a similar team that are both of good stature and able to promise valuable minutes. Even more reason I won't get excited is he could easily become our first foray in to flipping youth via breakout loan spells. Plucking a number out my arse here but if he can command £25m-odd based on the promise shown this season, I could see the club finding it hard to refuse given our FFP circumstances.
  11. Ah RIP, Joe. It was hard to feel any ill will toward him even at the time. He did genuinely seem to care and at the least he provided genuine light relief on numerous occasions, even if unintentional.
  12. I won't feel comfortable until we're mathematically clear of Brentford tbh. Had to double check the table to see who was 5th bottom and was surprised to see just how bad it was looking for them.
  13. Fucking hell Alan Smith has no insight, does he? Just manages to string together enough platitudes.
  14. Madness. Said it before but hopefully Howe can use this to show he doesn't need to be a mad man every week in future.
  15. Yup. Does that mean he's only one game away from avoiding his tenth yellow?
  16. Ipswich "have produced more late shows than David Letterman". that's top tier topical commentary right there.
  17. Thank God we finally have space for two 'keepers on the bench again. It's been too long.
  18. Pretty much, there's little originality these days. Same song but with your own club's name/nickname/players added in. It's probably really amplified for us because our own songbook is so dire and mostly made up of those unoriginal songs these days.
  19. He seems to have gotten a bit defensive over a fairly innocuous question, presumably as a way to avoid actually talking the finances. I feel like he could've covered it with 'it would be good but my job is to build a team with the resources we've got, CL money or not'. But I said from the off that I'd get sick of him purely because of others fawning over him just because he has the air of a bloke shooting the shit down the pub. I feel like he could come out with the most incoherent shite yet everyone would still think he's ace because he did it in a chill Aussie accent sticking mate in every sentence.
  20. I'm sure the same whiny bastards who hate our club already i.e. no one whose opinion Adidas nor the club should be making business decisions based on. Besides, i can't imagine this whole Elite = Trefoil business is as rigid as everyone implies. Can't be arsed to search up who but I think there's been clubs that aren't full on 'Elite' but near enough get treated as such by Adidas in their own regions. If Adidas want to make an exception because they know the money they'd be leaving on the table otherwise, they'll make an exception. Hell, they'll probably just make an extra 'tier' to account for it if they really don't want to throw us in the proper 'Elite' one.

    Lewis Hall

Fuck it let's see how Alex Murphy gets on.
  22. I look forward to seeing who the first club is that manages to pay the luxury tax, get relegated, fall in to financial ruin and get their luxury tax back from the collective fund.
