Does that statement beat "Following media reports this morning the chairman wishes to make it clear that Alan Shearer has never said to him that he would knock seven bells out of anyone." for pure pointlessness?
-
Can't believe people are making out his rant is some fantastic speech. I loved it for it's hilarity. As an actual argument it's incoherent, nonsensical drivel. Who is making out it is some fantastic speech? It's the opposite. Well, for starters...
-
Is that seriously their statement? Please tell me you're joking.

Do we really need a statement every day about this? Getting old already.

I love all the pundits and commentators. Apparently they've ruled this game. No one's ruled anything, it's a complete non-event.
-
After watching the replay I'm now even more undecided actually. They didn't half have some shit angles for it.
-
Well over!?
-
Horrendous. Only on as there's fuck all else to watch for me.
-
Risen to the challenge after exceptional pressure? Are they watching the same match?
-
Praying for a sending off or something to open this game up.
-
What an insanely depressing match.
-
Neither team seem to be doing much. Just passing it around very tamely.

Interesting that he includes Bellers and Cort in there, I was only young during this time so wasn't interested in off-pitch rumours but I only seem to remember Bramble, Jenas and Dyer to be the 'brat pack'.

What? How is a rant about the bosman ruling spot on in this case? Apart from that he's just another one licking Ferguson's arse, never mind the players he's messed about over the years. It's hard to take managers criticising players seriously when they think they can treat them like a house and decide when and who they are sold to and the player should have no say in their future. Can't argue there. This is a two way thing. The only reason this is getting a million and one managers to speak about it is that it's Ferguson and Man U. It's no different to any other player deciding they're not happy at their club, except finally someone has got Fergie by the balls. Because for the first time ever, it's not him deciding that player needs to be shipped out. Whoop-de-fucking-do. I do believe players should be allowed a say in their career also, manager's aren't hung out to dry when they decide they want out of their contract to move to a better club. But they expect their players to be loyal? Get fucked. If it's about money, then yes Rooney's a selfish, money-grabbing cunt but it's still his prerogative, but I do believe him when he says it's about more than that. Manchester United aren't the force they were and he sees that, he wants out, and I don't blame him. If Ferguson suddenly woke up tomorrow and decided he's not getting the support he deserves and quit, and moved to a cushy job with a massive salary in the far east or something (obviously would never happen of course) he'd be praised, he'd be hailed as a man that saw sense, bla bla bla. What would the difference be?
-
Obviously you can't take what managers say as gospel, but didn't Mourinho say he didn't want Rooney right now because he's already got striking options? Maybe he wants to ship one out before bringing him in.
-
I know we shouldn't but
-
Very fair point, they havn't helped them so far. Maybe it'll freshen them up a bit? Clutching at straws here for you bud!
-
I reckon you'll be fine, mate. They're due a win, surely?
-
'Some complete... person. Sort your life out!' Jesus christ. I love that man.
-
Amazing the dickheads that do this don't realise the double standards, torching someone's car with innocent kids living there that have to experience that, because of what's only currently alleged assault.

Oh and a quid each on 3 different In-Play matches, long shots but just for the hell of something to keep me interested for the next 45 mins while the second half gets played out. On teams I've never heard of
-
I've only got a fiver left in my account right now, so I've just thrown that on a Man City, Sevilla, Athletico, Sparta Prague, Villarreal 5 fold. Only returns about 20 quid but hoping it's just a safe bet that'll get me a bit of cash back.
-
Liverpool 10/3 against Napoli? I know they're not doing too well right now but those odds don't look too bad to me.

I did some dirty math and I got 235000 pw A lot of rags have been mentioning he wants 150k after tax or something don't they? Just a general note on this subject, don't you love the Manchester United love in about this? Part of the Sun's drivel about this went on about how Rooney has gone back on what it means to be a Manchester United player, loyalty, love for the club, bla bla bla. Let's see how many of those players stick to those morals when the club starts going down. Ridiculous. Do they seriously believe those players came to their club through love for them? Are they that deluded? Or is it saving face because they can't bring themselves to admit that now the glory days are coming to a depressing end, that idea is soon to be completely disproved?
