Erm, anyone having problems getting on Bet365?
-
The same classy fans that chucked beer at their own manager (monkey heed) Surely not! If we think, as Newcastle United fans, we have seen some sights in sunlun over the years, the moronic mongrels will be foaming at the mouths by the time we go to their shithole for the return game, such is their obsession with us and feeling of need of retribution for the drubbing we handed out last Sunday. That day will be something to witness. And if we get a result, Jeezus, I dread to think what the state of their mentality will be like. SMB And unfortunately, I actually worry about the safety of our fans at that point. For all of our well-behaved fans that are going, the mood that that lot'll be in if they hype themselves up and get knocked down a second time. I hope there's a lot of protection on hand considering the fucktard 'fans' they are.

and we won the league that season. we played a youth side against safc 1st XI
-
Could accept that. It's the extra game, don't see how it would work with an extra game against any random team in the league and the result goes toward your final league standing. Completely unfair for various teams in many ways. Why not just start with some friendlies in pre-season or something to test the waters?
-
Of course. Will want to take it over to the US.
-
Had to say it man, what if's are the same for every time. Every time we talk about league positions at the moment someone pipes up with 'imagine if we'd beat Blackpool, West Brom, got what we deserved against Man City'. Then we most likely would still be doing other things expected, such as drawing to the mackems, losing to Villa and Everton. Just is a pointless exercise.
-
Or lost as expected to Villa, Everton...
-
The best thing is there's not going to be a thing else they talk about for the next '71 days', not that they're counting. Save for a 2 page match thread on the day of all their matches in between, it's solely going to be able how they're going to 'hammer' us. The irony is fantastic.

Oh yeah, the ridiculous hype is a bit hilarious, but overall picked out the right players, even if he was a bit over-optimistic. Kirkland and Robinsons fighting it out to be THE WORLD'S best goalkeeper (Still feel Robinson was treated harshly, like all keepers that were shunned because of one dodgy run).

Agreed with the majority. One game he gave his all for us. A cynical viewpoint, but how do we know he didn't do it for himself? Just to give him some respite from the grief rather than being cooped up at home just dwelling. I'd be the same to be honest, take my mind off issues. Can't believe we're defending Carr and Boumsong too though. Carr was appalling in so many of his efforts for us. And Boumsong, whilst trying sometimes, just had no heart and fell to pieces so easily it was unreal.
-
Let's just remain how we have been throughout all this lads. Makes it all the more sweeter in January when they get their gloating shoved down their throats one more time
-
Can you believe that just 4 short years ago, we had the likes of Ramage, Huntington, Babayaro, Carr, Boumsong, Bramble, covering our backline... Sends shivers down my spine.
-
Isn't that the point? I'm just saying that hindsight's a wonderful thing. Bale was an expensive punt back then; fortunately for Spurs it's paid off. I'd have felt iffy going for him at the time - as i actually posted in the thread. And as with so many other players that people have this debate over, would he have reached anywhere near the level he's at now if he was in our absolute mess of a club in 2007? Hindsight or not, agree with Yorkie's original post that it would've been a longshot for the price.
-
Interesting article indeed. In terms of how the players they mentioned have done, they've not done too bad compared to other such articles championing young players for future England teams.
-
'It was difficult from the off as we all know my roots and my feelings for Newcastle, meaning it was hard for some to accept and ultimately I was judged on being a Magpie rather than a manager wanting to do his best for a fellow North East club' Would love for him to come out and tell us how he thought they were shit all along and just went for the money and to take the piss all while wearing Lee Clark's SMB top. I wouldn't, constant fucking turncoat. Just pledges allegiance to whatever's convenient.
-
You know once he leaves the mackems he's going to try and talk us up again. Cunt.
-
I have to agree with KD on this one. I think he's better staying put for now, would he be guaranteed football at this stage if he moved to Barca/Real? Needs regular football, to grow. And if he was to move, yes, Man U I think would be the best move, because he is easily better than their midfield, especially with Scholes and Giggs soon out of the picture.

I only watched the first half before flicking back now and then from Idiot Abroad. Can't believe how turgid Liverpool's play is. I keep including them in my bet (they done well for me tonight granted), thinking 'surely this is when they start turning it around', then I watch a game and remind myself that they really aren't that good a team anymore. They are just filled with average players. N'Gog summed it up, shocking striker. I know it's said every year, but I really could see Gerrard being off this time. He really didn't look too impressed at the final whistle to me, kind of like a 'for fuck sake I've got to save the day again'. You'd think a player would be happier after what he'd just done. Now that Torres seems to be doing fuck all, the epitome of one man team once again.
-
Surely he's still only about 30? I'm not saying i want him back on the playing staff but he could be playing somewhere? I thought injuries ended his career? Hence why he didn't get a game when re-signed for us a few years back.
-
My 5 fold was fucked by Samp and Porto, pissed off too 'cause I had L'pool, PSV and Valencia all at -1. Had a treble on Negredo, Afellay and N'Gog to score. Then I started watching the L'pool match and wondered why in fuck's name I done that
-
I was impressed seeing Tiote's aims. And talking about a trophy, I love this group of players
-
"Geordie boy, drinking the piss, geordie boy, drinking the piss" If there's ever an 'ask Kevin Nolan' like their was with Tiote, someone should send the question in to get him involved.
-
There was a rumour of him going to Crawley Town, Baba. Nothing came of it though. And Ian, as Baba said, he's not going to demand a starting place is he? If he does then we tell him to get stuffed. But I'd say take him in on a trial, see how he is in training and go from there.
