  1. Radio Clyde are saying Hutton has rejected Spurs' offer apparently by the way, did Martin Jol call this transfer? Not that I remember.
  2. Front page of the Sun tomorrow has a story on Barton crying in jail
  3. No chance of going down. It will be one of those depressing seasons when you finish 11th or something and have nothing to play for in the last two months of the season. At least you get a bit of excitement in a relegation battle.

I never leave early. Goodison is pretty decent for getting out of with the crowd dispersal and traffic. Very handy location for me as well, only 15mins walk from my house and a few mins in a cab to the city centre.
  5. Honest question. Does anyone really, seriously think there is any chance Berbatov will sign for Newcastle? Given what he has said (his agent said, but there must be truth in it) about Spurs in the last couple of days? Incidentally, FWIW, I'd have thought a Charlie Big Bollocks, arsey, petulant teenager of an overpriced striker would be the last thing you need at the moment in any case. From what I've heard I don't think Berbatov will be going anywhere........... or many others for that matter. The cull will probably start in the summer when the fresh faces have been recruited. The Bolton GK, Diego, Lassana Diarra and Boro's Adam Johnson are all on the radar as are 2 central defenders Jaaskelainen will be a great signing for someone what with him being out of contract. Better shot stopper than Robinson but he has a tendency to give some daft goals away. I think he's pretty average tbh.
  6. I've just been watching Football First and one of your defenders was booed for making a backpass shortly after City scored the first. Crazy.
  7. mackems.gif Rafa livid. Throwing his jacket around at the end there. Clueless. He really is a prick. Arrogant, sore loser. I can't wait to see the highlights to watch him lose the plot. The fact it was Bramble turns the embarrassment factor all the way up to 11.
  8. Well done Bramble.
  9. That would be a great signing mate
  10. I don't think this will happen in the end. If you go by government guidelines and planing laws it should be rejected. Thank fuck.
  11. Are you still in the anti David Moyes camp To be fair Moyes changed after the booing last season against someone I can't remember now. He has been a lot more offensive minded and it is good to see him playing 2 strikers now where possible. Some of the football we've played this season has been lovely to watch and only Arsenal and Man Utd have scored more goals than us. That booing was one of the best things to ever happen to David Moyes. Sorry mate but i think you'll find that we are the premier leagues leading goalscorers  I'll have to brush up on my stats. It was correct as of a couple of weeks ago!
  12. Carew has had two spells of injury. We've been lucky though, you are right. Our new training centre, which apparently cost a fortune, has probably had an effect on keeping injuries to a minimum. However, you could also say that you've got a deeper squad to be able to handle injuries. If we had 3 or so players out, we'd actually struggle to name 11 starters and 5 reserves without calling up nobodies from the stiffs. That's more what i was getting at mate
  13. Are you still in the anti David Moyes camp To be fair Moyes changed after the booing last season against someone I can't remember now. He has been a lot more offensive minded and it is good to see him playing 2 strikers now where possible. It was against Spurs when the scores were level at 1-1 and Tottenham there for the taking late on. The game was crying out for a striker so he puts Tony Hibbert on at right back. It's probably the loudest booing I've ever heard for a substitution. Then ten seconds later we conceded and lost 2-1. I was against the boring, cautious management of that period and felt a change was needed. Since that game he's changed a lot so a new man isn't necessary. Some of the football we've played this season has been lovely to watch and only Arsenal and Man Utd have scored more goals than us. That booing was one of the best things to ever happen to David Moyes.
  14. I'd like to see how the two clubs would cope with the kind of recurring injuries to important players we've had this season, Villa in particular.
  15. West Brom will win the league imo Watford to get the other automatic spot because Bristol City won't last the distance. Bristol/Stoke/Ipswich/Charlton in the play offs.
  16. Boro are so bad. Comfortable win for us with most of our better players out injured. Much better result than I was expecting.
  17. Don't know yet. Just says he's out injured, yet again. Hopefully nothing serious or we'll have to play a reserve team against Chelsea in the semi-final. Gravesen is out as well.
  18. Dirty bugger, saw him against Plymouth not long ago. Looked confident on the ball, decent passer but a fair few of his tackles went astray, didn't look afraid to get stuck into players, only 17 though, excellent prospect nonetheless. If he's tidy on the ball then that will do for me. Can play in a few positions as well can't he? Midfield and fullback?
  19. Happy new year everyone
  20. Oh, god. Just seen our team to play Boro.... awful. No Yobo, Cahill, Arteta or Osman. Baines still not fit enough. We're gonna lose.
  21. Apparently we (that's Everton and not Newcastle blueyes.gif) have signed that Dan Gosling kid from Plymouth who Chelsea were interested in a while ago. £1.5million.
  22. Nevermind your Berbatov's I've got some big news here: Lukas Jutkiewicz from Everton to Plymouth on loan. Young stiker we signed from Swindon last season when Paul Sturrock was in charge, he's now the boss at Plymouth so must rate him a lot.
  23. Fair point, but we actually do have a five year plan to be playing in the CL (I think they're de rigeur for all new owners these days - I know West Ham have one, for instance). Admittedly, we're further into it, but that's probably the measure of how large the gulf is between the top four and the rest. Obviously, as you said, it depends what the five year plan is to achieve. What is going to be interesting is that there are the current top four, then there are quite a large group of second tier (and a few third tier - West Ham, Blackburn for example) clubs who all have money and all want the same thing, the problem being, they can't all have the same thing. I don't think how much money you spend is necessarily going to be the crucial factor in the same way it was in the past, but that's probably another argument. Sven has taken the bit of paper with 5 year plan written on it screwed it up and thrown it in the bin. They will compete for CL next year. Not necessarily. We had a poor season and finished midtable after coming 4th the season before. Spurs have just finished 5th two seasons in a row and have spent the first half of this season near the relegation zone.
  24. Forget Moore, if Cahill goes, it will be for pathetic money, given his future worth. I'd almost rather we didn't renew Laursen's contract and let him go than sell Cahill, and Laursen is a colossus. I know I won't have watched him anywhere near as much as you but from what I have seen Gary Cahill is nothing special really. He looked average to me in the Premiership and is good in the Championship but doesn't really stand out as being clearly too good for that level or anything. How come you rate him so much? Is it more his age/potential?
  25. We rejected a £15m bid for Arteta from Valencia last week There were quotes on it from one of their officials and Arteta's agent
