  1. I'd never heard of him really but his goal tally for last season is quite impressive. They'd better hope he's not another Maccarone because they're desperate for strikers and I can't see them spending a higher sum on any of the other forwards brought in.
  2. That's just ridiculous. And from a PR standpoint (which is all these corporate wankers that run football clubs these days care about) they have made a massive cock up. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
  3. I really don't understand why Lescott keeps getting overlooked...
  4. Durham is an idiot but that's what you expect. It his job to go on the wind up to get callers and content for his show. Carragher taking the bait like that was crazy really. Some of it was funny but I think he'll be feeling a bit embarrassed when he gets up in the morning and it's splashed over the back pages. You can be sure talksport will be milking it as well.
  5. I think there's a few dodgy foreigners playing for the national teams of the likes of Qatar and the UAE A passport and a wad of cash go a long way
  6. That's what people like to say but they completely ignore the fact that Nathan Blake was fouling Big Nev when they "scored"
  7. Other bargains- Mascherano & Tevez who will both play a big part at big clubs next season but are undervalued because of their patchy seasons last year
  8. Motivation has always been his problem. He's a world beater when he wants to be. I reckon he simply couldn't be arsed with a match against Oman after a long club season. Good to see Cahill get on the score sheet in his first game back.
  9. Carragher isn't good enough for international football anyway. He's got no technical ability whatsoever. He's a solid defender and gives 100% which is great in the Premiership but he gets shown up when he plays for England. Can't remember him having a good game at international level.

    Makems have signed

Chris Baird and Greg Halford? Should be good for 08/09 in the Championship Seriously, do they even want to stay up?
  12. It's black trim and shorts instead of blue. Apart from that it is very similar though. I was hoping for a traditional amber & blue one. Used to work with a big Everton fan. Sound as f*** and clued-up. Once told me that he slept in on the morning of an FA Cup Semi final and when his mate woke him up he just grabbed the nearest shirt he could find. It just happened to be a yellow Away shirt and he was putting it on as he locked the front door behind him.....he then realised pretty sharpish that he'd look a bit of a t*** when he remembered they were playing Norwich. He reckons he was the only bloke in the Everton end wearing yellow. Think that must have been '89, bit before my time

  14. That team is phenomenal. That front three switching positions throughout a match would be a nightmare. Anderson could also play in Scholes' position when he's tired/injured or they're playing a lesser club.

    Queudrue?

Probably just his agent trying to stir up interest although our dodgy left back quota is low now with Naysmith being sold

    Rod Fanni

    I don't think he'll cope with the Premiership, he's a bit of a pussy
  17. I think you need to take a fuking chill pill tbf. Upson isn't worth £8m, Davies is barely worth £7m and Lescott isn't worth much more, and as for the not fit to lace his boots comment, he's not John Terry. My point being there is nothing in this league, so get off your high horse and £15m? Typical Evertonian bullshit at its finest. Lescott is miles ahead of that pair. If you think Davies or Upson are in the same class then you don't know football or you haven't seen him enough. You're right that Davies & Upson aren't worth their price tags but that's simply today's market for you so Lescott's will be accordingly higher. And I'm on no high horse, all I'm saying is that you wouldn't be able to afford the current going rate for him and that you're not any better off as a club than us so wouldn't be a major attraction for the player. If you think there is nothing available then why suggest Lescott for some fantasy world price tag in the first place?
  18.  Am I really reading this?! £7m for Lescott? When Matt Upson costs £8m? And Curtis Davies is valued at £10m? Neither are fit to lace his boots. Not that a) we would sell or b) he would want to sign for Newcastle. What makes you think him or Yobo are available in the first place? Yobo turned down Arsenal last year to sign a 5 year deal and the only way Lescott is leaving Everton is if a big European club or Chelsea come in with over £15m. They are two of our best players and there's no chance in hell that a club of similar standing to us (yourselves, Spurs, Villa) could buy them. I think you need to get real.
  19. He's never got 20 in Spain so why would he do it in the Premiership? I would be very wary of handing over £20-odd million for a striker who scores less often in La Liga than Forlan and Kanoute Fairly confident that if he plays 50 games, he'll get 20 goals. He's good enough on the deck and the lad can finish chances if they come his way. I'm not making him out to be the next Pele but i think he'll do a job for them and he'll progress as a footballer under Benitez. Take those blue specs off! In 50 games maybe. I was meaning in the league, which is where they struggle. They're already spot on for Europe. And I haven't got my blue specs on, I'm genuinely not that bothered about them signing him. My reasoning being Messrs Forlan and Kanoute. If they had signed Eto'o on the other hand, I would have been very jealous and very angry!

  21. He was excellent home and away against Arsenal and Man U The two clubs who supposedly had bids rejected at the end of the previous season Turning it on when he's in the shop window...?
  22. I think you'd struggle to find any West Ham fans who think he was good for 1/4 of the last season They hate his guts
  23. He has all the attributes to be a good player but for me, doesn't seem to care about football. Haven't seen him have a good game since the FA Cup Final

    Juan Roman Riquelme

The fans in raptures? Not really. 95% of the reaction was "Wtf. This is weird/must be bollocks." All it was is when you mouse over the main stories, an image comes up with a caption. There was a story about Andy Johnson with the correct image, linking to the correct story but the caption said "Riquelme signs three year deal"
  25. Your boys will do okay if the following is to go by Is that sarcasm? That story is spot on according to the "ITK" and I feel like crying. What a complete waste of money. I remember seeing an interview with Moyes and he was saying how he hates having to deal in the transfer market, I bet your lot do too if that's the best he can up with! My only conclusion is that we have no scouts or their passports have all run out. Fucking hell. Not one of those players improves of our first eleven, except maybe Jagielka. And he's just a utility player anyway. £17m spent and not one real quality player? What a fucking joke. I'm so pissed off with this.
