I fucking hate James Beattie Missed 3 good chances, two of which my nan would have scored. Fat useless cunt.

Wenger didn't half buy some crap keepers Shabaan, Manninger, Wright, Almunia

Sidwell is a decent player but massively overhyped. Since he's on a free he'd be a good signing for most clubs outside the top 4. If he wasn't out of contract I don't think there would be any big clamour for him.

hard to tell. The guy who wrote it - Chris Bascombe, is pretty close to Liverpool, although not as close as he used to be I don't think. He actually hates Houllier with a passion (cos Houllier wouldn't put up with him at the end of his time here), so I'm amazed he's managed to write something about him without turning it into a slag fest. Bascombe gets a little more right than your average journo, but he's also as full of s*** as most of them Also, I really wouldn't have a clue how he'd know what Houllier's intentions are, being as I kinda doubt they speak to each other I love Chris Bascombe. His match reports & articles are comic genius. Or he is just scarily deranged and deluded. Either way, he's worth a laugh.

I think Feyenoord is his boyhood club. He probably wants to retire soon. It'll be the same situation as Larsson where he simply wants to go home and will turn down better offers to do so

Stuck rotting at Everton? Everton were one of the top clubs in England & Europe at the time. He scored 38 goals in 52 games for the club. I wouldn't call that rotting away. It's easy to criticise him because he never did much outside the box and say he relied on service but when you're such a phenomenal goalscorer you don't need to do anything else and when you're playing for a top team you don't have to worry about the service being provided. Throughout history there have always been players of that ilk and they always play for the top clubs. That's not a coincidence. It's not like he was found out at Barca either. He was one of their best players, had a great goal scoring record and won trophies. Same story when he came back to England with Spurs. I think you've got a VERY warped view on Lineker.

Trust me, she is. I've heard her on the radio and she is absolutely fucking awful. Hasn't got a clue. I thought she was just a token women and was lucky to have that radio job since she is so bad at it. For her to then be moved onto the biggest football TV show in the country is just madness.

Arteta and Osman aren't wingers really. VDM is the only genuine one we have and he never plays. I suppose our system doesn't use wingers and a lot of clubs in the Premiership are the same. I don't think any of the non-top 4 clubs have got a good set of wingers. There are a few clubs with one stand out player like Lennon or Pedersen. The rest of the clubs just shift attacking centre mids out a bit wider. Apart from Reading but individually their wingers are shit. Newcastle on paper, have the best genuine wingers but Duff has been awful and N'Zogbia is not the player he was and Solano stuck in the back four. Just leaves Milner really.

Yeah it was brilliant. He was playing fucking shite as well!

If it's any consolation going to Wembley with my dad to see us beat the mancs in the final is still one of my best ever days Aye, well I'm not arsed about Everton, but that day I wanted Manchester United to win the Cup Final, you see what made it even worse was, if Man Utd had've won they'd have went in to CWC, therefore freeing up a UEFA Cup berth for the 6th placed toon. Whatever happened to that c*** that hit the bar? Joe Parkinson, aye that's him, sort of defensive midfielder. The last time I cried over football was probably England v Germany at Euro 96. I'm hardened to disappointment now, I expect the toon to f*** up, because they always do, so I'm never as disappointed these days. Pisses you off when you think fans of sides like Chelsea and Man Utd don't appreciate the winning anywhere near as much as we would. Parkinson got a terrible injury that he never recovered from about a year or so later and eventually retired in '99. It was a shame because he was a good little player and tough as nails. Was tipped for an England call up around the time he got injured. The club gave him a cushy job for a couple of years but he's stopped doing that now. Him and his kid have a season ticket at Goodison

Peacock was fucking MILES worse tonight. What an ignorant little wanker he is. Get rid of that ridiculous beard as well ffs.

they didn't lose just cos of a lack of luck, Sevilla where a huge class above them tonight. Ref wasn't much use like you are right, but even with that in mind, Sevilla where easy the better team. It was exactly the same as the 2nd leg of Everton v Villareal. The spanish were the superior footballing side and took an early lead. They then play acted at every opportunity which the Ref allowed. In the second half the english side rallied and got themselves back in the tie on passion and work rate rather than quality football. They were outclassed but would have stolen the victory all the same if the ref had made the correct decisions (Collina disallowing our goal, this Austrian ref not giving the penalty or two Spurs could have had)
-
They were unlucky. Ref was terrible.

As long as Liverpool don't win it, I don't give a shit.

Yeah, blood everywhere apparently. Went in for a challenge with Meite. Went off on a stretcher with a bandage pressed against it to stop the blood loss then had it stitched up asap

That's pretty tough - isn't the boy only 16? But as others have said, at that age it's more about coaching and development, and it no one would say we have the setup to groom young talent... It IS very early, although soem real, genuine talents are already knocking on the door at 16 - look at Vaughan at Everton. Vaughan is 18 I believe. He was the youngest goalscorer a while back. 'Tis true, but I've got a feeling he's not done much since then, and has recently gone off on loan - which would indicate he's not knocking on the door. Anichebe looks a good prospect there mind, and seems to have overtaken him in the pecking order - got a feeling he's 18 too. Hopefully someone like 1878 who actually knows about this will be able to clarify for me. Vaughan was 16 when he made his debut in a match near the end of the season against Palace a couple of years ago and scored as a substitute. The following season he made a few sub appearances and looked bright but got a bad injury early in the season and was out for over a year. He only got fit again a few months ago. Made a sub appearance against West Ham in the league and scored but he still wasn't 100%. Made his first ever start up front against Arsenal the other week and played really well, he's started the 3 matches since then and has a record of 4 games, 2 goals. He looks the real deal to me. Unfortunately he got an injury today, severed artery so will miss a couple of games. He's never been loaned out to anyone btw. Close to 20 clubs made loan offers for him in January but Moyes wanted him to stay and make sure his injury was looked after properly. Anichebe is a good prospect too but he's not as talented as Vaughan imo, quite raw and will need more coaching. He can be very hit and miss. Has all the physical attributes though, he's built like a beast and has the strength to out power any defender. Half decent turn of pace on him as well. He went to train with the full Nigeria squad on the last international break. They're both above Beattie and McFadden in the pecking order at the minute.

Derby matches are great. Yeah, it's terrible when you lose but there's no sweeter feeling than when you win. They're the biggest and best games and football just wouldn't be the same without them. Suprised at the amount of people saying "no".
-
Havent seen it but they were talking about it on the BBC like one of the worst ever. Wait til you see Diouf's as well. Ball had gone and he purposely studded Neville just below the knee. Horrible cunt.
-
Diouf is a horrible cheat. Terrible, terrible ref in that game. I hate Paul Jewell as well. I've never seen him NOT complain about a decision when his tinpot club loses. Which is quite often. Hopefully they go down and never embarrass this league again.
