It was always a massive long shot but Moyes won't be heading your way. Signed his new contract according to BBC Radio Merseyside

Should have won that game. They hardly had the ball in the 2nd half, both their goals were gifted and we fucked up a few really good chances. If we get our defence back instead of relying on Jagielka as a one man blocking machine then we can do them at their place.
-
Decent game, Villa definitely deserved it though. Good away performance looking dangerous on the break.
-
"How did he not score there?!" It's Marlon Harewood, mate.
-
What a fluke goal. Should make for a good finish though

Spurs fans singing "4-1 and you fucked it up" as Villa score an easy goal

Missed the ball? He twatted the guy on purpose, after his first attempt to kick him never worked. I do agree though, that the punishment shouldn't change just because it turns out the other guy is going to be injured.

We are experts in helping or getting rid of boards: Seymour/McKeag, Shepherd & now Ashley. To be fair, I think Shepard would have still been in charge now if the Halls hadn't pulled the rug from under him! He didn't seem to care a jot that you all hated him. Your fans do know how to do a good protest though The media flock to it and all.

Thought he'd be more willing to ride out the storm than this. If his heart isn't in it anymore, you're probably best off without. As Dave says though, who comes in next?

Makes a difference to have someone that doesn't hit the first man all the time Arteta hit the first man all the time without fail last season. Seems to have bucked his ideas up. Shocking defending but that 2nd half must have been great for a neutral.

It goes up £50m by the day. He's going to put the club up for sale this week at £350m according to the Sunday Mail. Yeah, I saw that. Said a Chinese investor and a NE consortium are interested. Also mentioned later on that Ambani was looking at us after pulling out of a potential Newcastle deal.

Both as bad as each other you mean. Neither team has put a proper move together. We've been sucked into playing the same way they do. If we'd pass the fucking thing then we'd win easily. As it stands, I'm not convinced we'll hold on. Need to go 4-4-2.

I fancy a score draw in our match.

They'll probably be on a contract and unable to pull out. All our matchday stuff is franchised out as well.

And, to contradict myself, if you follow this "natural area of support" argument, Villa would be playing in front of 100k every other week. But we're not. My conclusion from this is that the whole "we've got x millon people on our area" argument doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. My motivation in the first place wasn't to say that we've got bigger potential fanbase etc than Newcastle United. I never once mentioned fanbase. All I was doing is correcting the statement that Liverpool is a smaller city when the truth is the opposite. When it comes to fanbase there are loads of other factors that come into play like neighbouring teams, surrounding cities etc btw, you probably don't realise that Tom Cannon article you're quoting from was basically a rebuke to our fans over the criticism of Tom's personal friend Bill Kenwright. Therefore his motivation was to talk down Everton's prospects in every way possible and promote moving the club to Kirkby. For example 1.5m is a joke- that discounts most of Cheshire, the entire of Lancashire and the entire of North Wales which are all areas where we traditionally have good support. Tom Cannon was jeered by a room full of shareholders at the EGM the other day as soon as he stood up to talk his usual pro-Kenwright rubbish.

Eh? What are you on about? It's the same Michael Ball that played for Everton yeah... but he was absolutely class for us and left when he was in his early 20's. He's not even 30 now. Just had some really bad injuries which have taken their toll.

I don't even know what "Liverpool Urban" is. That's just a made up boundary. I've just had a look at the wiki link and it counts Birkenhead and the whole of the Wirral as it's own "Urban area" for some reason. That's like taking Gateshead away from Newcastle. It's clear that you're just going to carry on ignoring the fact that the population of the individual cities is the opposite of what you claimed just because you don't like it so I won't bother debating this anymore.

He was a dirty bastard, that Muscat.

I thought Torres would but not Gerrard. The mancs haven't lost at Anfield for years.
-
Those figures were for the official administrative boundaries of Merseyside and Tyneside, I assume it includes South Tyneside. Anyway, forget the wider regions and surrounding geography, that wasn't brought up by me. I was only comparing it on a city-to-city basis at first, correcting somebody for saying Newcastle was a bigger city when it's clearly the opposite.

Bruce is a good and very underrated manager in my opinion. Even if he does look like Mr Potato Head.

It's made it to this mornings Daily Post http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2008/09/13/tycoon-sets-his-sights-on-everton-64375-21809380/ Still not convinced about this though
