  1. If Ambani or anyone else bought us I wouldn't care about him being a new Abramovich I just want someone that won't be a total disaster in the day to day running of a business. That in itself would stop us losing money every year despite the low wage bill and TV money going through the roof. Which in turn would generate half decent funds for each window instead of the pathetic net spend we have over the past 5 years. and yet you are still a very good side imo, which is a real credit to moyes. Yep, Moyes has done great considering the finances. Kenwright would have been ran out of town a long time ago like Peter Johnson was if it wasn't for Moyes papering over the cracks.
  2. He's a full blooded player and a mouthy get but he doesn't dive or play act. That's just bullshit tbh.
  3. Sobis flopped at Betis anyway. He was supposed to be the next big thing after winning the Libertadores with Internacional. They should have learnt their lesson after Denilson

  5. No, he never. As I remember it he pushed Arbeloa away from him (in the chest) when Arbeloa was getting in his face after kicking his standing leg from behind. If anything Arbeloa should have gone for violent conduct by the letter of the law. And anyone saying Cahill should have gone for dissent, that's nonsense when you consider Ashley Cole did exactly the same thing to Riley (yellow worthy challenge and then walking away) and wasn't sent off. I fully expected the ban to stand though. I can't remember the last player apart from John Terry that got a wrong decision overturned by our useless FA. If Terry wasn't the new England captain then his would have stood too.
  6. Surely the lack of confidence in this thread must fill you with some hope?! Not really, we look equally as bad at the minute and have just put in the least spirited derby performance I've ever seen. You've got a new boss coming in that could give you an initial boost. Plus, Michael Owen is a twat. Maybe we'll just gift each other a few goals and draw 3-3 or something.
  7. Dreading this game tbh We don't look like we could win a raffle at the minute. Owen to score and Kinnear to get his only win as Newcastle boss.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong but Bill Kenwright doesn't own the club. He can sell Ambani his 33% stake but that wouldn't be enough to trigger a takeover. Kenwright has the largest shareholding and the other main shareholders are all Kenwright sycophants and will sell whenever he does. I'd bet the house on that. The club have denied this mornings story about Ambani anyway. No takeover will happen until the Kirkby stadium shambles is decided one way or another.
  9. Wise and Jonas go on drink fuelled supermarket rampage

Just me that likes him then
  11. I reckon 29k is a good crowd for the crappy cup in a match vs Crewe. Wonder if we'll beat it tomorrow. It is a decent crowd, although Crewe had a lot of fans with them. The only reason it annoys me is that it makes a mockery of the constant bollocks about not being able to get tickets for Anfield that all their armchair fans come out with every bloody week. I heard a story theres a lot of forged tickets in the kop end is that true? Doubt it. Where the hell would all the extra people go?
  12. I thought this was just paper bollocks. Not looking good.
  13. This is one of the worst matches I've ever seen, seriously It's so bad that I'm now listening to Blackburn Rovers reserves hammer us on the radio instead

  15. based on what? persuade me... Turned Wigan around from being totally doomed to relegation under Chris Whatshisface to staying up before the last day, bought some good players on a shoestring like Palacios, Zaki, Figueroa, Kapo etc I reckon they will finish comfortably mid-table this season, maybe top half Did a pretty good job at Birmingham too. I know they got relegated but it wasn't straight away, they had a couple of decent seasons before the relegation one and he got them back up at the first time of asking. Last season they didn't look like they'd go down to me under Bruce, when McLeish took over they weren't as good and paid the price. I think he's an underrated manager. Would be hard for any club to get him though since Dave Whelan is such a prick, he'd ask for something daft like £10m compensation and actually mean it. Bruce strikes me as being a 'signings' manager, a bit like Souness although that's a harsh comparison. I never really saw a definitive Steve Bruce style of play evolve, in fact at Birmingham it was pretty basic. When you watch a side led by Martinez, or Mowbray at West Brom, their influence is obvious. With Bruce, there's a nagging feeling it just depends if he strikes lucky with a couple of transfers. Maybe I'm doing him a disservice, but I'm just not convinced. The managers influence is always more obvious when they set a team up to play attacking football because so few people do it. That brings it's own problems though, Mowbray for example is a decent manager but his teams leak goals like a sieve. Even if you're right and Bruce's success is dependent on signings, he still has to motivate those good players he signs and get them to fit into a team unit. Look at Spurs for an example of good players that aren't being coached properly. Bruce wouldn't be the big name that would excite fans but he'd be a safe pair of hands at worst and potentially a real success imo.

  17. Nigerian consortium I hope this deal isn't being conducted by email
  18. Sick of our defence and especially Howard. 3 own goals in 3 games. 13 conceded in 6 games. Bloody awful, can't remember our defence ever being this bad under Moyes before.
  19. Thought WBA edged it today, deserved at least a draw
  20. Cos in the few games he played he looked about as lethal as a pensioner in a wind tunnel. I was joking. Obviously so I thought, but nevermind. Well done Stoke
  21. Chopra is the most lethal striker in the Prem this season with a ratio of 2 goals every 0.5 games. Amazing. Why did you let him go?

afar- I'd much rather go through mate. The squad is roughly the same size as last year and we coped ok then. Being in Europe is great, it's not something I've got to experience much in the past so I don't want us to go out at the first hurdle and have to wait a year or two to have another crack at it.
  23. He's rubbish. Relied on the chequebook at Leeds then took Villa backwards while fishing for sympathy over having to play "the young lads" on MOTD every single week. Plus, he's a smug cunt.

Don't agree with you singling out Ossie for passing, he is one of our best for technical ability. Worth bearing in mind that he wasn't even fit last night and was left on for the full 90. Same with Cahill who was also below par. We can definitely go there and beat them. We had the better of the play, created more chances and scored two good goals rather than two that were gifted by daft mistakes. If we can get the defence back to the way it was last season then we are through. I'm not holding my breath though on the defence suddenly clicking though!

What's happened to Lescott No idea. 2 brilliant seasons and now he looks like a total shambles. Can only be a mental thing, complacency maybe.
