    UEFA Cup

We bottled it tonight. Gang of shithouses. Worst performance all season by a stretch. And I fucking HATE Clive Tyldsley and Jim Beglin, ITV's coverage makes Channel 5 look brilliant. Bring back John Barnes.
  2. Torres was supposed to be doubtful for tonight the fucking little twat. They would be about 8th in the table without him.
  3. McDonald is shit. There are no good strikers in the SPL, the only one worth looking at is Fletcher from the Hibees because he could develop into a quality player.

    Carl Cort

Mark Pembridge played for Benfica as well

    Carl Cort

Quite possibly the only man in history to transfer from Sevilla to Walsall.

Gifton Noel Williams plays for some lower division Spanish club as well.
  8. Never heard of him but had a quick look at his Everton profile & see you got him off Arsenal, any info on how that come about? I remember when I was youngster going to watch Everton V Newcastle many years ago & the tip off we got for greatness was John Ebbrell. He is up there with with Darren Caskey & Shaun Murray as chaps who never made the greatness that was expected of them for me. John Ebrell I remember him well from my early days watching footy. You're right he never hit the heights he was supposed to but he wasn't too bad a player either. Tony "Grantona" Grant was worse on that score. As for Agard, this is what I read from an "ITK" on a forum. Apparently he was released by Arsenal, Liam Brady ultimately, but some of the other coaches thought it wasn't the right decision so they wouldn't let him go to another London club. We have a good relationship with them at youth level so he was offered to us. Same happened with Moses Barnett but he's still playing for the youth team rather than reserves.
  9. They've been playing in centre midfield together recently but Rodwell is a Rio Ferdinand-style centre back. Gosling is a utility player. Keiran Agard is probably the other one to keep an eye on, young pacey striker. Anthony Gardner is making his debut.

I gave up reading there. Absolute nonsense.

Understatement mate. Be very interesting if Rafa has a CL game to prepare for the week after Unfortunately not. They've got Man Utd the week before though.

We were much, much more entertaining under SBR. Aye. They are what i hoped we could be under SA. mackems.gif Is that you in your signature? I don't really see what's so funny about that comment. Defensive winning football, same type of formation, same kind of ethics, very similar styles imo, i was hoping of a Moyes type revival for SA here, but it didn't work. Again i can't see why you are being a smary arse about it tbh. We're not playing defensive football. Definitely nothing like any Allardyce team I've seen, we're not playing percentage football. Some of the interplay between Cahill, Pienaar and Yakubu was absolutely fantastic today and we've been playing positive football all season. The only thing that is similar is the formation, the personnel used in the formation is very different. Allardyce used to have a much more solid, defensive minded midfield set up. The negative style under Moyes used to be my gripe with him but that ship has sailed now. I'm staggered at the amount of people I see on forums who say we play a physical or defensive game. It's ridiculous. I can only assume they don't actually watch much football outside their own team and rely on tabloid stereotypes for their opinions.

No he never. He didn't get near touching the ball the cheeky little b******. One angle suggested he got the faintest of touches imo. I still don't think he touched it. I sit behind that goal and have a great view of the box. Good win for us today though. You seem to be ducking the all important issue mate. Pienaar's hair. Bad wasn't it? He looked like a little girl.

Forssell is a really good player when he's fit. Pity that's about once every 6 months.

    Arsenal are useless cunts.
  19. Playing as a team and with a bit of passion & will is the most important thing. Whether that goes with positive, attacking tactics or negative ones isn't the be all and end all.

    The man for NUFC

What an absolute load of shit. We've probably got the shortest, most lightweight midfield in the whole league. I'd love it if you could enlighten me as to how these midgets manage to out muscle other teams and play a physical game? Even our defensive midfielders are nothing on the likes of Diop and Faye. Our team and style of play has actually changed in the last few years you know? Seems you haven't noticed. We've played some great stuff at times this season with the interplay between Osman, Pienaar and Arteta a joy to watch when they're in form.
  21. McFadden flatters to deceive. His most telling piece of play in the Arsenal game last week was when he made a horrible mess of a one on one opportunity rather than his two set piece goals.
  22. Good call. Probably our best midfielder.
