  1. Sheringhams pass to Shearer in Euro 96 against the Dutch comes to mind
  2. I remember a certain poster of old who constantly banged on about what a great signing that's to how wonderful Freddie Shepherd was as a chairman lol
  3. The best player I've seen in a black and white shirt in the 35 years I've watched the lads. Its such a shame we missed out on his best years. Some of the stuff he did at Liverpool and Everton was unreal.

    Hillsborough

They would have said fuck all, just like they did when they were in power.

    Hillsborough

There was a documentary which will offer some clarification to you which was aired on ITV1 earlier this week and should still be available to view. Having visited Hillsbrough several times prior to 89' I can totally understand how and why the fans went down the central tunnel that day. Thing about ALL "documentaries" is that they have an agenda. They are done solely to put all the blame on one side. Rarely (if ever) do they say both sides are to blame to varying extents. The one I saw was as bad as any I'd seen. It could have been done by the Liverpool Supporters Club ! You see these things, you make your own mind up. Odd how these crushes happened all the time, but never to this level, though. Odd also that Liverpool blamed everyone but themselves for the Heyshell disgrace too. The Prime Ministers statement and apology should help people 'make their mind up' on this one

Guess who That says so much about the mackem mentality that even in 'the perfect season' they need Stoke to get an equaliser in the 95th minute to win
  7. Indeed. It's such an empty jibe to say they bought the league when every winning team since the year dot has done exactly the same. I couldn't agree more.
  8. SSN just confirmed he had his top off and was ready to celebrate with the 'champions' at the stadium of shite when the news came through about Man City. MOTD should be a howl tonight
  9. Was he wearing a wig? Slaphead alert
  10. i will up you David Mcreery Excellent player. The only decent player we have ever had from Man U IMO BTW anyone missing out Gazza from midfield wants shot with shit.
  11. What utter garbage. Shearer would have lasted 5 seasons max at Man U before Fergie booted his btackside out of the door as soon as his form slipped.
  12. Why are you talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, that's even more irrelevant. And Rooney has justified his fee as the most expensive teenager in the UK, no doubt.
  13. Wow it doesn't take much to get the Shearer worshippers riled. Can I just point out that Shearer joined us after a WORLD RECORD TRANSFER FEE. Can anyone show how he justified this? Feel free to compare him to other players who have broken the record and what the purchasing clubs went on to win. You can go first Beren
  14. Rooney has justified his massive transfer fee. Shearer never did.
  15. I'm no fan of Piers but this is gold: @themichaelowen Maybe we should do it at Anfield? You could explain modern player loyalty to me in front of the Kop wearing your Utd shirt. That's aside from mentioning his loyalty to us (captain of relegated team - says fuck all to the fans (very loyal and professional) -yet hung around long enough to collect his 'loyalty' bonus.)
  16. I'm quite suprised Michael getting bum raped on twitter by Piers Morgan hasn't had a mention after the latest exchange between the two http://www.thescore.ie/when-celebrities-attack-the-best-bits-from-michael-owen-and-piers-morgans-twitter-spat-167143-Jul2011/#slide-slideshow1 I've got to say I love the Titchmarsh comment, Owen fell apart after that one lol
  17. while they're both nincompoops, i'd be more likely to believe shepherd. the fact that Llambias chose to preface the amount of pay with 'under kevin keegans management' should tell you all you need to know Well Llambias has yet again broken the 11th commandment and criticised Keegan, but it's interesting to note Keegan's comments on the Owen situation from March 2008 - ................................. I'm not here to defend Lambias but has it occurred to you two he may have been stating a fact? Owen could have been signed on an initial £90K a week with a year on year rise to take it up to £133K when Keegan was here. I really can't see how anything Lambias has said this time is a slur on Keegan.
  18. Me neither, which is why I definitely don't want him coming here any time soon. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by his time here. Most of my prejudice against him stems from everything he's ever said and done before and after that time, but during it he seemed pretty bold in ripping up plans that were going wrong, which surprised me - didn't show Owen unwarranted loyalty, experimented with tactics. He seemed to be making more right moves than I expected - if he'd kept that rate up and been given a handful more games to work with I think he would have kept us up, at least. Some people have extremely short memories. He dropped him didn't he? It was Hughton that originally dropped Owen, and Shearer re-instated him the minute he took over. After a few games, he realised his mistake and dropped him again. In fairness, I think it was a genuine error of judgement about Owen's contribution. It wasn't about being loyal to a mate. and he rectified it, which was the bit I appreciated. He played the full 90 mins for the first 4 games. The next two he came on as sub. THEN he was dropped only to reappear as a sub on the last day. So, dropped for one full game, no loyalty there.

  20. Brett Emerton was 2001/02 when he was at Feyernoord IIRC We was interested from then.. until the time he eventually signed for Blackburn. So I wouldn't say SBR was genuinely happy with his squad that year. No manager is ever happy with their squad all of them are constantly trying to improve their squads. Of course a rank amateur like Bobby might have been green enough to buck the trend, right Neesy?
  21. You hated playing Champions League football? Well someone at the club hated Champions League football, thats why Bobby never got a penny to invest after finishing 3rd. You need to actually rewind your head back to 2002/03 as Bobby said he was happy with that squad all that season and didn't want to sign any other players that season. If he didn't want to sign anyone why did he sign Bowyer on a free?

  23. Rooney was playing for Manure two days before Bobby was sacked. The only kernel of truth the fat twat has come out with was we were pretty close to signing Rooney. IMO we would have signed him if this fat bloater hadn't bragged on live TV that we were after him.
