    Harvey Barnes

Bit odd throwing pelters at him when he's the only one of our wingers who has shown up for large parts of this season. It seems to me at this point that something in the way we're setting up is causing our wide men to look completely ineffective. Probably the fact that our forwards are the easiest to mark in the league.
  2. It has to be a penalty unfortunately like, it's going in. I'd be livid if we didn't get that.

    Anthony Elanga

He hasn't been dropped, he didn't start on Wednesday.

    Anthony Elanga

We all know if he started and misplaced three passes it would be "ah there we go he's reverted back to his usual, absolute shite" from 95% of the people who are saying he should've started.

    Anthony Elanga

I think it's probably the right call tbh. Just keep easing him in and let him slowly build up confidence and comfort. Goal the other night was great but his general play was still a bit iffy and isn't there yet.
  6. Glad that Wissa lad isn't starting for them, caused us all sorts of problems last season.
  7. That's how the question comes across to me, listening to it.

    Nick Woltemade

I don't think he'd start for many premier league teams to be honest. He's technically sound and has potential, but he's unsuited to the style that most teams in this country play, it's not just an issue with our system.

    Yoane Wissa

Still early days in a disjointed attack, my biggest concern with him is his work ethic rather than his goal scoring ability at the moment. Some of his movement (or lack thereof) has been extremely lazy so far.
  10. I agree. I do understand the "give them time" sentiment for Elanga, Ramsey and Wolte (based on historical transfer success), and I also understand the external reasons for the summer going to fuck, but I do think it's pretty cut and dry at this point that the money spent didn't bring in what we needed for this season. There's a huge amount of work to do in the summer.
  11. It's easy to say "got it wrong" but I just don't think any plan would've kept us in the tie tonight with the players available and with confidence already being low. There are plenty of times he's got it wrong this season (IMO), but tonight he was pretty much fucked no matter what.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

It doesn't take a special or astute eye to see what he offered We were mostly good in spite of Wood, that's why we quite happily moved him on.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Just because someone else paid similar to take him off our hands, doesn't make the initial outlay on him good value. Good value would be spending the same money and getting 10-20 goals in return. He was largely poor if we're being honest. Callum Wilson was good value and we got nowt back for him; for me, it isn't determined by the money you received when they left but what they delivered on the pitch. That's why you sign footballers, not to balance the books.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Agreed, but I still probably wouldn't consider him "good value", he just did a job.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

The general lack of activity across the board would suggest it isn't a myth, but we've managed to find value there before when we had to. January 22 is arguably still the best value transfer window we've had under PIF (Chris Wood aside).
  16. So does Sandro if he pushes for a move
  17. Tonali has tremendous athletic attributes but if he pushes for a move and we replaced him with a disciplined, press-resistant DM, I wouldn't be too perturbed. He isn't really great in that "6" role as he's literally all over the pitch, chasing down their defenders, their keeper, leaving huge gaps that nobody bothers to fill. This is also a wider tactical issue with our whole team, of course. But I think he's replaceable in that specific role.
  18. I'm stuck somewhere between: "there's no loyalty in football, yes we stuck by him but it's a short career and we're not exactly pulling up trees this season", and "stupid disloyal carbonara loving cunt".
  19. Was curious to see how many secret Howe-haters we had when the public peer pressure was removed. And it's worked... @Kid Icarus, @Yorkie and @AyeDubbleYoo making up 3 of the 4 "time for him to go" votes is a twist none of us saw coming.
  20. Feel totally flat about this game tbh. I'm absolutely burnt out by the amount of games at the moment.
  21. Been admin on here for 22 years without making a poll or doing literally anything else of note, I'm not here to do my job Vinny.
  22. Just pick the option you like best and zip it
  23. The question is whether you're happy with him, not whether you want him sacked.
