Said this a few weeks back. He has all the tools to be our best left-hand side midfielder, he's superb in tight spaces and almost always finds a pass.

To be fair, the main scrutiny I remember reading about the 23/24 window was less about the quality of the players, and more whether we'd signed the right players relative to what we needed for that coming season, and whether we'd brought in enough depth in particular going into a busy champions league season - that concern ended up being pretty valid with the benefit hindsight. Last summer was largely similar, it's less about the ability of the players we signed for me and more whether they were what we needed. I'd have been more patient with the Ramsey signing, for example, if we'd signed a creative midfielder too.

Not a big fan of the "value for money" argument that we keep hearing tbh. Would hold up better if we didn't struggle to find value for money in the summer windows too. I reckon some of our best business has actually been done in January windows.

Yeah as a result of putting the club in a position where we could consistently challenge for champions league football. Worthwhile trade IMO.

Glad to see him flying at the moment as I've always been a defender of Barnes even during his rough spells, he's always reminded me of Laurent Robert in that he can do absolutely nowt then just win you the match. Such a clutch player. Honestly think he's miles better than Gordon, just obviously nowhere near as good as marketing himself. Probably my favourite player in the squad tbh.

He's had good and bad games like almost everyone else this season. However, his apparent loss of agility is definitely a concern, as he tries to make up for it by defending deeper than our other defenders a lot of the time. He generally still looks great when we're backs-to-the-wall, but when we're pushing on he is getting caught out quite frequently this season. A lot of that will be rustiness, but it's hard not to wonder if injuries have caught up and it's just a permanent feature of his game now.

I mean.. technically... the dictionary definition of the word could fit into a hyperbolic appraisal of a poor footballing performance, but I'm somewhat dubious that Shay knew the Collins definition of the word and yet somehow missed that it was associated with one of the most notoriously awful human tragedies of all time. Bit of an oversight if so.

Bobbydazzla notoriously hates Ramsey
-
He'd already had to come out and make a few blocks due to our defenders being outpaced or bullied, so I can see why he made the decision. Botman just has to do so much better there.
-
Thought he was positive on the ball today and played well in general.
-
Feel like Gordon has missed that same chance about a dozen times at this point.
-
That was like watching Bale vs Maicon
-
Absolutely buried the penalty though to be fair to him, weaker foot as well
-
Actually held a decent defensive line with the fullbacks at CB too unlike Sven who was way too deep constantly, obviously fearful of his lack of pace/sharpness. Genuinely think he could play anywhere on the pitch and give an 8/10 minimum at the moment.
-
At least he gets in the right positions and attacks the ball. Just one of those games where nowt came off for him.
-
Mental game. Fair play to Leeds as well, they were very good going forward and their fans will feel hard done to. But fuck them. About time we got the rub of the green this season.
-
Miley has been more comfortable at centre half than our centre halves.
-
Can we not just win 5-0 in one of these 20:15 kick offs? Going to be awake until 3am after this fucker.
-
That was incredibly lazy by Botman getting back into position.
-
Superb by Miley that.
-
They've been good ever since they changed to 3 centre halves against City in the second half. Don't think they've lost a match in the league with this system since then.
-
Inconsistent form applies to almost every team in the league this season, to be fair. There are very few teams going on winning streaks.
-
Love the bloke but almost everything he's done has been poor tonight.
-
Aye Thiaw just needs to come off, he's got a lot of credit it in the bank in general but his head's just not here tonight. Regardless of the goals, his entire game has been honking. I thought it was a handball personally, but I can definitely see the argument about the Man Utd one. Quite similar situations with two players wrestling for position and it resulting in a ball-to-hand situation.
-
Can't be a penalty because he was wrestling, right?
