Osula's been taking 1 on 1 lessons from Isak

Albert was decent enough, but I agree. I always feel like that lob does a lot of heavy lifting for him in terms of nostalgia.

I loved Ben Arfa but would struggle to put him in a Best XI ahead of the likes of Nobby. He had more talent than any other player I've seen for us, maybe Beardsley aside, but through a combination of shite management and his own personal battles, he wasn't able to deliver on it quite often enough to include him IMO. While he was excellent for us at times, I've always felt he was a cult hero more for what he should have been allowed to become, rather than what he actually was. Maybe also for what he represented during the Pardew era in general, too.

I think there's some recency bias in the Isak vs Shearer debate. Until Isak is consistently scoring 20+ goals a season, he can't be considered the better striker, for me. He is a better all round player when he's on the top of his game, but he's also prone to going through spells where he doesn't contribute much at all, such as earlier in the season. Longevity and consistency are key, for me. Shearer had four 20+ goal seasons for us and his "goals per game" is obviously going to be worse given that he played until the end of his career. Isak has had one 20+ season - hopefully two if maintains his form and stays injury free until the end of this season. If he stays at the club and is consistent for another couple of seasons, I'd be willing to re-evaluate.

I still think there's some flaws to be ironed out when he's on the ball, but purely as a defender, he's got to be one of the best fullbacks around at the moment? He never looks like he's going to get beaten in a one on one, it's a suprise when he does.
-
He's definitely the best left back in the league, it isn't even close. He still looked like a kid playing out of position at the start of the season, that little run of form leading to the England call up has absolutely unlocked him.
-
That 5-5-0 at the end was tremendous, he knows that Arsenal have absolutely no creativity against a low block at the moment and exploited it massively. The turnaround over the last month has been ridiculous. He's fixed basically every issue, from the huge gaps in the midfield, to the lack of a press, to the lack of chances for Isak, to the away form.

Useless is strong, but I remember a lot of our fans back then being far from thrilled with his signing before a ball was even kicked.

Saying Forest are riding their luck at times is a bit Captain Obvious. But for the most part, they've been really compact and solid this season and difficult to play against, which can push a team up the league very quickly if they also carry a bit good fortune to go with it. From what I've seen of them, they generally limit good chances for the opposition and are clinical with their own chances. With how inconsistent the rest of the league is this season, that could be more than enough to put them in the top 5 or 6 by the end of it.

Aye, for me a goal should never be disallowed for that unless it can be reasonably determined as a deliberate act. The whole phase of play leading to the goal was extremely poor by Spurs, and it's been overlooked due to a decision that isn't even controversial under the rules.

He's been very steady but most importantly, as others have said, his footwork and distribution have made a big difference. Even with Pope fit, he's made himself first choice at the moment for me.
-
Never a second yellow for me, he's pulling his arms in
-
Great result, although we made very hard work of it in the second half. Hopefully Palace and Wolves can do us a couple of favours this weekend.
-
Don't really understand the lack of changes considering we have options on the bench, we look extremely leggy. You'd think we'd have learnt from last season.
-
I don't think that's a penalty tbh, he got a slight touch on the ball then it's a coming together
-
Can we try something different from these corners? Clearly not working.
-
Not really Schar's forte either though. The fullbacks and Tonali/Joelinton will hopefully add enough pace and play intelligently enough to make up for it.
-
Would be more confident with Tino up against Son, assuming Son starts from the left.
-
Their fans seems very negative about the game, but I don't know... This is the kind of game where Spurs can suddenly look like an elite team. They've done it time and time again in big matches. I have no idea what kind of game to expect tbh.

One thing I noticed last night was that he seemed a lot more vocal than I've seen previously. He was dishing out a few words to Joelinton and Bruno for either not pressing in sync with him or not being where he wanted them to be. I think as he grows in the team he'll become a real leader for us in the middle.
-
Nah, he can't have, Italians can't adapt in this league. It's a well known fact.
-
Transformative player. Imagine how good he'd be if he wasn't Italian and was actually suited to the English game.
-
He's mint, but for my blood pressure we desperately need to stop putting him one on one with the keeper.

That first half performance was as far ahead in quality as I've seen us against these, and that includes the famous 5-0. Amorim's setup was absolutely abysmal, I can't imagine how anyone could study us and think that midfield was suitable. Arguably one of the worst managerial decisions I've ever seen from a supposed top class manager, to be honest. Second half was a bit more nervy and I was frustrated that we dropped off. Could've been a different game if they'd scored, but we dug in and made some good last ditch blocks, and rode our luck a little, which I think we deserved overall.
-
Why have we dropped off man, so frustrating
