  1. To me, it's the choice of games we're rotating in. The message seems to be that the Liverpool game was a more important fixture than this one, which I'd disagree with given that we're sat 12th in the table.
  2. I'd rather Howe had used Tonali and Gordon in this game and rested them on Wednesday, if the decision is about rotation. These are the teams we must be beating, not Liverpool.
  3. Is there a bigger fraud in football than Ange? The reputation he has for someone who has achieved absolutely nothing in a major league is wild.
  4. His striking technique is definitely poor, it's like he's constantly holding the Finesse button in on FIFA.

    Tino Livramento

I think it's prone to happening with him, he definitely goes to sleep at times. His defending is usually sound in general though, but as I said in the match thread, I wish he'd be less passive going forward. He is powerful and fast when he runs with the ball, but he constantly turns back (often into trouble) and looks for the easy pass. I think he's gone backwards massively in that regard since last season.

    Lewis Hall

There isn't a fullback in the world who is stopping Salah at the moment, the slightest error and it's almost certainly leading to a goal or an assist. Was always going to be a struggle. Thought he did well in the first half but was punished for a couple of mistakes in the second. Full backs make those kind of errors all the time, but most teams don't punish them as ruthlessly.
  7. Thought Slot's interview was pretty balanced and respectful towards us. Klopp would've acted the cunt after throwing a late lead.
  8. Hopefully now that's he's getting a run in the team, we're finally putting to bed the "can't see what he offers that Longstaff doesn't" arguments. He's excellent in that central role. Much better there than Bruno.
  9. Infuriates me how passive he is on the ball at times, he has it in him to drive with the ball but only does it once or twice a game.
  10. Thought it was a good performance over all and probably a fair result in the end, they missed some sitters too. Annoying that we found the intensity and energy again tonight in a big match. Hard not to be doubtful that we will carry it into the weekend. Decent result though. Makes a change not getting beat off them, especially when they're steamrolling everyone else.
  11. We would've fluffed that counter anyway lads, don't worry about it
  12. Never a penalty in a million years.
  13. I've been as critical of us as anyone lately, but sometimes you have to credit the opposition. We've been sloppy in moments but no other teams in the league are this ruthless at punishing it.
  14. We don't deserve that. Salah is absolute world class, you can't give him an inch. Just ridiculous.
  15. Salah is arguably the best player in the world at the moment tbh, will probably cut Lewis some slack.
  16. Never believed for one second that Murphy was hitting the target there.
  17. Looked like he was trying hard enough to get back in to me, I thought Jones just had the head start due to the sudden turn around and maintained it.
  18. Good half. Thought we contributed quite a lot to the game considering I was apparently watching Liverpool vs Liverpool.
  19. You can't miss those chances against these, they'll come back to bite.
  20. Hopefully this jinxes things in our favour, but Murphy starting is completely uninspiring to me. If it's to help out defensively then to me that's surprising, as his defensive contribution is a bit of a myth.
  21. Klopp's points tally at this stage last season had them sat third, they would still be 3 points clear at the top with the same return this season. I think Slot has improved them as a team, but the massive lead they have is more down to the drop off from the others.

    Will Osula

If Wilson wasn't fit to play the rest of the match when Isak went off, I find it hard to believe Osula wouldn't have been a better option than bringing on Barnes and putting Gordon up top. Gordon can look okay up front against a high line, but against anything else he struggles and ends up dropping too deep.
  23. Teams that transition from back to front quickly are our kryptonite. Unfortunately a lot of the league are built that way now. I feel just as in danger when we have a corner as I do when the opposition have a corner.
  24. We've failed to replace Trippier as a creative force. Even Miggy to an extent, who I think is more intelligent in his build up play than the alternatives, even if his end product is usually cack. We've gone from having one of the most threatening right hand sides in the country to being almost entirely lop sided to the left. Our left hand side was effective in previous seasons because teams had to over compensate for what we were doing down the right. The problem is compounded by the fact that Barnes and Gordon are both pretty one dimensional (in different ways), and our midfielders have basically no creativity. It's difficult to see how things will change without a major system overhaul or some excellent recruitment in January.
  25. While I agree with a lot of the sentiment, the comment about West Ham fans is bollocks. Moyes was clearly going stale there, and replacing him with a manager who hasn't done great so far doesn't disprove that. Most managers eventually run their course at a club. I'm not saying Howe has or hasn't, it's simply a fact that it usually happens sooner or later.
