  1. Still think Harewood at 4M? is a good business?
  2. I put Villa in 4-3-3, City in 4-5-1 Villa: Carson (Sorensen) Mellberg, Davies, Laursen, Bouma (Knight) Petrov, Reo Coker, Barry (Maloney) Agbonlahor, Carew, Young (Moore) City: Hart (Isakson) Corluka, Richards, Dunne, Garrido (Onuoha, Ball) Ireland, Elano, Hammann, Johnson, Petrov (Fernandez, Geovanni, Vassel) Bianchi (MPenza) Personally I will prefer City over Villa. And as you say Villa have a very thin squad so I don't think they are any more complete than City. But I suspect that sooner or later both City and Villa would have a mini crash. Everton is my bet to last the marathon of UEFA spots, even though they will lose Yakubu and Pienaar to ANC.
  3. How so? City are better stocked in keeper and defender positions. City and Villa are evenly matched in midfield though Elano's quality stands out. The only place Villa are better stocked is the forward line, but then City could play lone striker and even MPenza and Vassel look decent under Sven. So I wouldn't say that Villa are a more complete team.
  4. Lets just leave it here. Say whatever you want, but I don't want to get involved in another tit for tat. Happy New ear Gejon.
  5. Roy Hodgson. From what I have seen from his interviews he justs sound and looks so fake and very unconvincing. Good luck.
  6. So you admit FM is better than you? Cheers Gejon!
  7. A lot better than I said he was when he moved to Villa Glad you realise you made a foolish mistake when you were so sure and certain Young was overrated and overpriced.

Too true, tribalism and racism are 2 very similar things, and so many people resort to racism while trying to be tribal. I however do not agree with you that local players are any purer. Steven Taylor talks a good game and he is yet to sign his contract. How many valuable English players stick with their local clubs who trained them. What is the difference between Michael Carrick abondoning Newcastle, West Ham & Tottehnam to go to Manchester United, and Albert Luque quiting Deportivo to come to Newcastle? Face it (and it is good), horny Sven is right. Uk is part of the European Union, if you want to have a free Europe (I want) then you have to accept a free football market. Athletico Bilbao is an exception. Their supporters (Basque people) aspire for independence and they would rather see the team in lower division than the team using a non Basque player. It is nice to have local players graduating from local academies and play for local clubs but which one do you value more? Sheer ineptitude and foolishness of local lad Freddy Shepherd (a true shame for the Geordies and a laughing stock nationwide and worldwide) or a local club well run by competent outsiders (Mort) and have competent non Geordie manager and non Geordie players? Many English managers talk a good talk about local lads bla bla bla, but how many of them do apply their own principles? Steve Coppell the most admirable of the lot, has an Irish as leading striker and a mainly foreign defensive unit. Sam Allardyce, big mouth as he has, buys more foreigners than English. When foreigners are being used as chesspiece in excuses after excuses for ineptitude, you can't help but think, hey, there are some racisms here.

What do you think about Theo Walcott? I am a bit worried about his stagnation.

    Wonderkids

This thread is going to be a great treat for the childish FM bashers. But hey, it is festive seasons. Let the idiots enjoy themselves! On a more serious note, what are your opinions on buying young, buying the future, buying the potential? In a football world where the "wonderkids" are snapped up instantly by big clubs, there is realistically little chance for a club like Newcastle to build for the future with young kids. Perhaps Sam's method of going for free senior or the experienced is the only feasible way for this club to move forward? We all know the brilliance of Sergio Aguero, Karim Benzema, Denilson, Giovani dos Santos, Bojan Krkic, Theo Walcott, Adel Taarabt, does anyone here know about the rest? I am also quite surprised that they include Gerard Pique and not Anderson, who has actually played regular good football at Bwin Liga and Premiership at tender 20. The Sun
  13. Where are those who wanted Joey Barton for Scott Parker? Scott Parker.
  14. Good night Baggio, you are always most welcome.
  15. So right. Your post is just yet another childish, stupid, mud slinging, slanderous post aimed to make me touchy? Cheers Baggio, of course I get touchy when a childish, stupid, mud slinging, slanderous makes silly accusations on me. Thanks for your admission and clarification. Much appreciated.
  16. Eih? I had not seen him playing myself? Do you still want to persist in your stupid childish way and go down this route again? Danny Simpson shite in Sunderland? Yeah Johny Evan shite in Sunderland as well. What else Baggio?
  17. I am on 2014/2015 season now on FM, so I would have no idea who this D'Alessandro is, since he is retired now in the game, and I have never had him in my squad. That's why I have to make a thread to collate opinions. Thanks for sharing the precious Pro Evo information Melan. It is very much appreciated. However could you please guestimate if the D'Alessandro in 2008 Pro Evo is as good as the D'Alessandro few years back? Thanks in advance.
  18. James, Baggio gets jealous whenever someone mentions a player he doesn't know.
  19. Do you think he is the solution to our midfield creativty? I say up to Big Sam. If he decides to stick with 3 grafting midfieldes then let him be. Skyports No doubt this post will please some of the "oh he is playsing FM again" childish posters here no end.
  20. Well, if you deem the majority of Newcastle United first team not bein able to control and pass the ball, then how do you see the vast vast vast majority of professional footballers who earn a living by playing football in all over the world, including those in Iraq, Malaysia, Spain or England? Shola Ameobi not a professional footballer then, despite scoring quite some goals in Premiership? Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard not professional footballers then, despite representing England National Football Team countless times? I think you are living in a fallacy with your own fancy definition of professional footballers, you are out of touch with the real world and your opinions on football should not be heeded henceforth.
  21. In a competition you are bound to have better participants and not so good participants. If indeed in your ideal world all professional footballers are able to pass the ball to teammates despite under immense oppositioin closing down pressure, crowd pressure, expectation pressure etc, you will still find something else to moan at the lesser gifted professional players.
  22. Becareful NE5 haunting you and sharing with you his proud history of watching Newcastle United even before he (or Newcastle United) ws born.
  23. Chelsea may feel that he is not up to their standard. Man City, hmm, good one but they already have Elano so they may not be looking to get another creative midfielder.
  24. 02/03 – 7th (no Europe) - Safety first shit football, midtable position, no European qualification, shit signings - sacked 03/04 – 17th (no Europe) - Safety first shit football, midtable position, no European qualification, shit signings - sacked 04/05 – 4th (Champion's league) - Safety first shit football, fail to qualify European proper, shit signings - sacked / or kept but warned to improve 05/06 – 11th (no Europe) - Safety first shit football, midtable position, no European qualification, shit signings - sacked 06/07 – 6th (UEFA) - Safety first shit football, midtable position, no Champions League qualification, good signings but didn't manage to keep Fernandes their creative spark, and failure to buy a creative attacking midfielder in the summer for 2007/2008- sacked This is what will happen if David Moyes manage Newcastle United. He would have been sacked every year.
