  1. Name calling very good. NE5 style posting no good.
  2. What a load of fuking s***. Billionaire owner, half decent team, and decent manager, we should be knocking on Europe's door by this time next year, no problem. You could forgive a few for hoping it could even be this year, we should be at least competitive. In your own words, Billionaire owner, half decent team, and decent manager - the midtable positio is reserved for decent teams! Seems like you are the one wit What a load of fuking s***.
  3. From what I've heard or read, Modic seems quite highly rated. Do you think he is the solution? I say up to Big Sam. If he decides to stick with 3 grafting midfieldes then let him be.

    Yes or No?

Is this good enough? Yes. Is he doing all he can with what he's got? Yes. I inteprete this question as is him trying his best. Are you happy with the performance from the players? Majority yes. Are you happy with the formations & tactics? No but he is the manager and he is the boss. Are you happy with the results so far? Yes. Will he get it right given time? Yes. Has the club progressed? Yes. Is our near future with the manager? Yes. Have you felt proud at any time this season? Yes.
  5. Good post HTT. I still want Allardyce be in charge for a few seasons.
  6. Where were Spurs before Jol went in there? And he got them from mid-table to the verge of 4th with a "net-spend" of just over £7m. Your calculation, hence your opinion of Jol, is wrong. http://biawc.110mb.com/
  7. How do you define English? English by nationality, or English by ethinicity (ie white Anglo-Saxon, excluding McLaren, Allardyce, Ince etc all English nationals of Scottish, Irish, African etc origin)? How could you accept a foreign coach and not a foreign player? Imagine the prime minister being an Italian.
  8. I think he will become a British citizen, hence why he can play for England. I know It's not the point is it? He was born in Spain. What about the technically Canadian Owen Hargreaves? I can handle someone who's roots are based within our nation, but to have someone who was born in a neighbouring european country with absolute no link to the nation but 'qualify' through technicalities is just a little bit too much for me. Almunia=qualified englishman Englishman, in your own words? I can absolutely understand your sentiment, I am against the appointment of Capello, or any other foreign coach. But Almunia if he qualifies technically as an Englishman surely must be considered as Englishman? I don't rate Almunia and I don't wish him near the national team because he is no better than who are already there. But if he decides to be an English and he is accepted legally then he must receive equal treatement, as guaranteed constitutionally, as other law abiding Englishman.

Everton were on course to buy Fernandes but at the 11th hour Valencia stole him away. Surely Valencia being a richer club offered him more wages, but undeniably Valencia have a lot more clamour than Everton. Bet Fernandes now regrets joining Valencia but who would have thought Valencia would be in current state? Fernandes could be the creative midfielder so many here have craved for. Zigic be the perfect target man who is more mobile and taller than Viduka.
  10. Ditto. Almunia has some decent reflex that's all. His savings always look dramatic, good for the audience but really some of them are not that difficult. He does not have the precense, the aura and the assurance a top class keeper radiates.
  11. Best players so far this season? For me: Robert Green - West Ham has only conceded 15 goals so far. It really does say something. Bacari Sagna / Wes Brown - Can't decide which one. They are the better ones but no the outstanding ones. Rio Ferdinand - The perfect defender this season. How colossal and intelligent he could be when he plays well. William Gallas - Not particularly for his defensive prowess, but many a times his scoring of vital goals have uplifted a team greatly frustrated and his unpleasant nastiness has stirred the young inexperienced team to take responsibilities. Patrice Evra - Roberto Carlos reincarnation, except not as good in shooting. Christiano Ronaldo - Can't remember who said that Ronaldo doesn't perform in big stage. But 11 goals so far and numerous assist, some people still moan !!? Cesc Fabregas - Finally learn how to score as a midfielder, and finally realise the usefulness of long ball and master the art of going long. Elano - Very good player, but faded a bit of late? Alexander Hleb - King of dribble Fernando Torres - Money well spent. Also remember quite a few here reaching conclusions that he would flop here immediately after he signed! Emmanuel Adebayor - The slender version "Drogba" of Arsenal. Sub: Joleon Lescott, Nicolas Anelka, Roque Santa Cruz, Bacari Sagna / Wes Brown, Steven Gerrard

When Graeme SOuness was first appointed NE5 thought it was a good decision. Of course he would deny it now but someone sometimes ago did dig up NE5's old posts to prove it. Hopefully the club will rehire Graeme Souness so that NE5 could go home gayfully.
  13. Cesc Fabregas, Paul Scholes, Anderson, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Mikel Arteta (on the wing), Pedro Mendes (when he is playing), Garth Barry, Jermaine Jenas (or Jamie O'Hara soon), Fabio Rochemback, Oliver Kapo etc.

ok fair enough. Thought there was something in it, with you mentioning them. Anyway just mentioned him on the '3 top targets thread'. Would be an excellent buy for us but Poulsen is my prefered choice(not by much at all). Koeman has gone on record saying he'll never play for Valencia again so he'll probably be available for relativly cheap to. Just seen your post in that thread I realise that my first post could be seen as a slight to yours but it wasn't. Didn't read your post in signing thread before I created this.

It just came across in my mind that Everton could do with a player of his quality at his position. Lee Carsely is a bit old and slow to me.

Would you take him here? He will b a great adition for Everton I think.
  17. Great post Tmonkey. No doubt NE5 will put in a few smilies and claim that you sidestep the issue again.
  18. Are you Craig Hope? I wish. I suggest you not.ad things about him.
  19. Pique + Evans are a great partnership in the making. I stake my name here amid the danger of being labelled FM player, glory hunter, Smoggie, Mackems and Yank.
  20. I hope the interests of both Lippi and Capello could sort of disprove that English players are not good enough. Admittedly England are a big football nation and the national coach vacancy is going to attract many managers. But for them (and Mourinho for half a week, and Van Gaal) to more or less pimp themselves it really does say something about English football and English players. You wouldn't get that much interests for French national coach vacancy or Germany national coach vacancy. I still prefer an English manager for England national team, because it is ENGLISH national team representing England country. Whereas Premiership, I am against any instituitional (the league, not individual club) quota and discrimination (positive or negative) against anyone.
