  1. But 20/21 of February are Tuesday and Wednesday mate.
  2. On what basis the banks agree to lend money to Newcastle United?
  3. On the contrary, I hardly agree with you on any football issues especially those related to the merit of Freddy Shepherd. However, if Invicta cannot back up his own illusions of my opinions, I will agree with your personal opinions (non football) on Invicta Toon.
  4. Still, ultimately, whose money is it? Who pay the club all the money? Who buy the clubs' merchandise? Who pay to enter the stadium? Who watch the advertisements? Unless Shepherd's Newcastle United generate their vast majority of the revenue by say, earning prize money from football competition, by property development etc, when the club can survive without placating the fans, without fans' finanacial support ...
  5. 1. Feel free 2. You obviously When did I say that a new owner will spend the cash on players and not just issue bigger dividends? If you cannot prove it, I will be inclined to agree with HTL once on his opnions of you.
  6. If this is trully so, why does a club need fans at all !!!?
  7. why should we expect them to dig into their own pockets, don't see david dein doing much of that or martin edwards before selling out. truth is some fools on here just want fat fred out regardless of who or what comes in.....i've no problem with him being ousted but i want to know what any takeover leaves us with. i struggle to understand the reasoning of the anyone but fred campaign..............as i've said before "be careful what you wish for" .i remember people thinking the same about the pirate westwood but look what happened then. No one here expects Shepherd to dig into his own pocket. And Shepherd has never done so. But he keeps bragging about him backing his manager with money. The money is not his, it is ours. Disgusting how Shepherd acts as if he is the saviour and patron of the club. Which premiership club has not backed their managers? Even Doug Ellis backs their manager, when Villa's revenue is not as high as Newcastle United!
  8. Obssessed? No no I am not. Just that I rate him really highly and honestly thought that he is a lot better than the overrated John Terry. Maybe Robson is too often injured?

    The Injuries at NUFC

One thing I know for sure that if you don't condition yourself properly (during normal training sessions) and don't warm up properly, you are significantly more liable to injuries. Possible reasons for our injury plight: 1. Overly Agressive Style of Play Unlikely, because though we are committed we are not blindly agressive. 2. Poor training facilities. Most likely. Robson and Souness both blame this for our injury situation. 3. Poor training / warm up: Likely. Someone said here before that Owen thinks we have the worse training regime he has ever witnessed. What I want to see is that the club investigates and adresses the cause properly. Our injury situation is just so severe and persisting that lucks should not play too big a factor. Unless you really want to believe that we are cursed.
  10. Ecstatic by Hutington's composure bluebiggrin.gif Can we finally have home grown good defenders coming through? If all Taylor, Ramage and Hutington fulfill their potential than we will have one of the best central defender pair in the league, in the future. How about David Edgar? Could anyone who has watched enough of Hutington and Edgar pleasse share some info?
  11. Fish into water? If Reo Coker is to move away from Upton Park, I believe he should go to Goodison Park. His hardworking style of play suit Moyes's philosophy of football tremendously. Roe Coker, Osman, Cahill, Arteta, Neville, Lescott, Hibbert, Johnson, Howard .. This must be the most hardworking team in the premiership it would be very difficult to beat. But of course, for a footballer with proven quality and much potential like him, there won't be shortage of suitors and he should prosper anywhere provided he has the right mentality. Everton eye up Reo-Coker to give Curbishley an early poser
  12. Fergie's Elite List Peter Schmeichel, Ryan Giggs, Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, and potentially Christiano Ronaldo. Trully excellent players these people are. Vidic would soon make his name into this list if he continues to excel.

    Quite a Team

Sibierski for ameboi definitely. And Zoggy ahead of Duff.
  14. 442 without a doubt. Definitely 2 strikers up front because Watford's defenders are poor and playing a lone striker is just helping them. Given Hutinton Taylor Ramage Babayaro Milner Butt Rossi Luque Sibierski Martins
  15. I am really interested to see which club would secure Curtis' signature once West Brom decide to sell. Mind you I thought his partner in defense. Paul McShane, is prospect who would cost a lot less. Definitely would not mind both ending up in Newcastle, perhaps wor own Nigel Pearson could work some magic here.
  16. When you look at the list of players we have, you should realise that England are not short of talented world class / good players who could alow us to compete in the international stage with pride. No one, but McLaren, should shoulder the blame if England national squad continue to underperform. PS Robinson should be replaced by Ben Foster. McClaren awards England 6½ out of 10 for effort
  17. I do not understand why arsenal is always to be blamed for the lack of English in their side? It is not that Arsenal has mistreated the English players, or that Arsenal have discriminated against the English players. Without arsenal, could Ashely Cole achieve what he has achieved thus far? Did Arsenal not try their best to retain Ashely Cole? How about the hefty fee paid by Arsenal to secure Theo Walcott? Is Walcott not England born and bred? It's also no secret that Arsenal are interested in Nigel Reo Coker, and were interested in Michael Carrick, both of them English I suppose. Arsenal are just doing something everyone else are doing, finding the best players. Do people really think that Manchester United bought Carrick because he is English? No, Manchester United bought Carrick because he is proven here, and they have burnt their hands with Veron, Djemba x 2 and Miller. Chelsea bought SWP, but how many people are still celebrating this fact? Lampard, Terry, J+A Cole, are still in the squad because they are good enough in the squad, not because they are English. Alan Pardew talks crap about English players bla bla bla, yet he is the very one who loaned Aliadière from Arsenal, who brought Spector, Pantsil, Benayoun, Carroll, Gabbidon, McCartney, Tevez and Mascherano to Upton Park. Are these Johnie foreigners so great that there are no English equivalent? Arsenal have done nothing wrong, and people should stop pointing fingers at arsenal for the sake of pointing fingers. Arsenal: Young, gifted and English?
  18. Since we are playing against an incredibly powerful team, I would want to see us to congest the midfield and protect the back. Chelsea's narrow midfield would not like this. Given Carr Ramage Taylor Babayaro Milner Sibierski Butt Rossi N'Zogbia Martins
  19. With all due respect to Curbishley, I am glad that he has been appointed by West Ham. That means if the Toon takeover does really happen Curbishley won't be our next manager. Alan Pardew won't be out of job for long. Personally I don't think he is tactically astute enough but he has proven to be a good talent spotter, an impressive team builder. Hull should go for him instead of Iain Dowie.
