  1. Would love to see LArsson Brown, Johny Evan, Solskjaer, Neill, Wright-Phillips, Reo-Coker, Eastwood, Bale and Nugent here. ITV
  2. Instead of David Jones sa the manager, I would prefer either of Paul Simpson or Billy Davies. Surprised that Michael Chopra isn't even named as a sub. Anyway, just for your interest (and reference) ITV
  3. May I add: 1. Amady Faye - £2M 2. Jermaine Pennant - £8M ITV
  4. From The Guardian Hopefully Glenn Roeder would take note of this list and take due actions (scouting, transfer etc).
  5. I thought Coleman is another very good squad builder / astute buyer in the premiership. With minimal budget he builds a squad that consist of many players many of us would like to have here, like Moritz Volz, Luís Boa Morte, Papa Bouba Diop, Franck Queudrue and Collins John. Jimmy Bullard, Antti Niemi etc are also good players. Fulham seems set to buy Oguchi Onyewu and Clint Dempsey. Decent players may I add.

    Paul Le Guen Leaves

They're fortunate to be 2nd, and saying that, 2nd in the SPL is as good as being second bottom, especially if Celtic are top and double especially if they're 17 points or whatever clear. The board, the press and the fans wouldn't/couldn't allow him a year or two to maybe get it right. Maybe if the players he'd brought in were showing up the ones he'd inherited then maybe he'd have been given more time but it was the other way round. The Rangers fans here at work are absol-fuking-utely delighted he's gone. Thing is he knew about 6 months before he started the job he would become manager, and clearly he didn't use that time sussing out the Scottish league. I know its not the best, but you need certain individuals to get you through a season in a league like that, and i dont think he got that part right. Underestimated the Scottish league? Maybe, maybe not, but he certainly didn't know enough about it. I didn't realise he was pencilled in 6 months before, if thats the case then he's got no excuse for not knowing what to expect or what was expected of him. Oh aye. He had ample time to sort himself out and prepare for it. McLiesh was sacked (or told it was his last season) at the start of February, about a week after we sacked Souness, and within the end of the month PLG was officially going to be the new manager, it might have actually only been a week or so after. Either way he had 6 months before the start of the season, he could of researched the whole league ten years back by then, and it still wouldn't of effected his time. I don't disagree that Le Guen has had plenty of time to prepare himself for the new league and hence he is to be blamed for inadequate preparation for the new league. But it does not seem to me that Le Guen has not done enough homework. He brought in quite a few players, none of them seem to me panic buys (bar Lee Martin and Phil Bardsley who did well against Celtic). I don't think that he did not do some homework , it is very uncharacteristic of him. Instead I think he simply made some misjudgements. A manager of his calibre will always bounce back from misjudgements. Initially he preferred to play the French keeper despite the Scottish young keeprer's good form, however he changed his mind later. He outlawed takling in training. He stripped Ferguson (who defies his intructions) off his captaincy. Le Guen, to me, simply does not seem like someone manages at his whim. When results are bad everything looks bad. Many Manchester United fans wanted Ferguson to be fired when he achieved little in his first few years (and selling many star players). During Benitez's first year in Liverpool, he was repeatedly ridiculed for his zonal defense. At time being Fabio Capello's Real Madrid are dour and dreadful. Rijkaard's Barcelona were pooor in the first year. Kenny Dalglish was sacked after just 1 full season in Newcastle. Bobby Robson's Newcastle did nothing in first 2 years. The list go on and on. Even successful managers of the biggest names have barren spells. And the clubs will only benefit maximumly when due patience is afforded to them. Luckily Martin Edwards and Rick Parry stick with Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho. And I maintain the stand that Rangers will come to regret to part with Pau Le Guen. Come on Bhoys!

    Paul Le Guen Leaves

It is ridiculous that Paul Le Guen is forced to go after 23 games only. Not even a full season. And where do Rangers stand at the moment? 2nd behind Celtic. It is only Le Guen's first year for goodness sake. Where else do you find managers of Le Guen calibre and track record? 3 years Ligue 1 champion, do you think it is a fluke? Consistent good performance in Champions League, is that another fluke? UEFA Cup 2nd stage despite paper think squad, another fluke? When I hear that the likes of Butcher or Souness should succeed Le Guen, I can only laugh. Rangers will come to regret forcking Le Guen away. Benitez's Liverpool were poor in premiership in the first year, but is Liverpool regretting the appointment of Benitez? The ideas of Le Guen not understanding the club history, passions etc are ludicrous. Would you say the same to Benitez? I would have Le Guen over Roeder anyday.
  8. Of all of them, only Powell, Traore and Blades' lad are not better than Babayaro or Ramage at left back.
  9. Pantsil - Did you see his performance in the world cup? Do you think he is worst than Carr? Spector - Do you think he is worst than Carr? And he is only 20. Centre back by trade, he has done better than Edgar, Hutington and Carr at right back. Reid - With so many posters slagging Emre at every opportunity, we can do with a Charlton star player in case Emre is sold. El Karkouri - Better than both Moore and Bramble. Priskin - He is 20 years old only. PS Mark my words, Spector and Priskin will eventually become very decent premiership players.
  10. No I don't often watch Championship football, and I don't profess to know so much about Championship football. I am merely suggesting players that we could go for. If you read my list again you will see that vast majority of the players are young players with decent reputation. I don't think the addition of them to our club, as back up, or as future players, would do our club any harm.
  11. Championship clubs. To think that Leichester only worth 25m! And how much did Ken Bates pay for Leeds? Or the Irish duo for Sunderland? Cardiff City, Coventry City, Derby County, Southampton, Wolverhampton should be good long term investment target. Shame that Leichester is going to Mandaric, Sunderland and Leeds have been taken over.
  12. Also raiding the potential relegation teams ... West Ham - Tyrone Mears, Paul Konchesky, Danny Gabbidon, Anton Ferdinand, Dean Ashton, John Pantsil, Yossi Benayoun, Javier Mascherano, Jonathan Spector, Nigel Reo-Coker, Carlos Tévez Charlton - Luke Young, Andy Reid, Darren Bent, Talal El Karkouri Watford - Ben Foster, Marlon King, Ashely Young, Hameur Bouazza, Tamás Priskin Sheffield United - Phil Jagielka, Michael Tonge

    Ugo?

Too old and too slow. He was a good solid defender but he is even a surplus for Leeds now. Also he lacks leadership and organising qualities, which is something our young defenders need most. Would prefer Southgate to him.
  14. Also 4 Arsenal youth players. Are you even more surprised now?

    Edgar

Can the quartert of Hutington, Edgar, Ramage and Taylor achieve more than the Boro quartet of Davies, Bates, Wheater and Taylor? Turnbull vs Krul, this is a close call too. Opinions? The Guardian
  16. Would love to see these players in Newcastle United. Birmingham City - Cameron Jerome, Gary McSheffrey, Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba Derby County - David Jones, Giles Barnes, Arturo Lupoli Preston North End - Danny Pugh, David Nugent Southampton - Gareth Bale West Brom - Curtis Davies, Paul McShane, Zoltán Gera Cardiff City - Kerrea Gilbert, Michael Chopra Sunderland - Lewin Nyatanga, Jonny Evans, Phillip Bardsley, Ross Wallace Luton Town - Sam Parkin Hull City - Jon Parkin Southen United - Freddy Eastwood
  17. VDS has a lot a lot more experience than Ben Foster. While Foster is doing great and learning fast in Watford, VDS is doing well in Manchester United. If the current keeper is an integral part to the best defense in premiership, why replace him with a "potentially" better keeper? Foster has not had the authority of VDS earned through experience and medals. I doubt the likes of Ferdinand, Brown, Silvestre, Neville will listen to the commands of Foster.
  18. Wholeheartedly agreed. If we want an intelligent, tactically astute young manager with proven CV and bright prospect, Paul Le Guen is up there with Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez and Frank Rikjaard.

    chengdu

Sheffield United own the Chengdu football club. Good idea actually. Any chance Newcastle could do the same? This will help us immensely in widening our scouting network, and would help us financially as well.
  20. I like Carson better too. Never seen him have a bad game. Can't say the same for Foster. When do you see Foster having a bad game though? On the contrary I thought Carson has been very ordinary in a few games when the team is suffering great defeat, whereas Foster has always kept his head high. Opinions I suppose.
