Especially because you know Beckham likely only scored because he watched that goal on video.

If Gayle and Joelinton are staying, I think we can forget any striker rumours. Seems we’ve shot our swap and loan attempts thus far, and with Gayle saying he’s seeing out his contract...

If we get relegated to the EFL, and purchased by PIF under their rules, then the PL would dust off their rule book and remember this rule: F. 3 . Within 21 days of becoming a member of the League each Club promoted from The Football League shall likewise submit to the Board a duly completed Declaration in respect of each of its Directors signed as aforesaid. Has this been applied before? Who knows? What would happen to a PIF-owned club that won promotion? Everyone knows!

He'll go to a place where all of his assistants are hired, and his "project" is implemented. Could easily be someone middling-but-ambitious - and West Ham spend enough to pretend to be ambitious...

You argue a sound case, but the PL response is that your reading of F.1.1.1 is too much a strict letter reading, that the PL acknowledged that PIF disclosed its would-be directors but were fuzzy on what “control” meant in the rules - and because the PL is such a helpful bunch, they gave them an opportunity to correct their papers rather than reject it outright. Yes, the rules say they should have been rejected, but I don’t know the argument “Be damned with ‘helpful’, they should have failed us” is going to beat the above PR line.

Didn’t they say they’d agreed to delay saying anything until the PL released the minutes? Seems like playing nice last time (with the letter to Masters querying the process) led directly to NUST being granted this half hour of questioning. Which might not sound like much, but it’s more than the politicians and petitions got...

Apparently Celtic are selling Rogic to a Qatari club for £4m. He must have gone completely to shit if he can’t get a game for them (and that’s all they can get for him, and from whom). Has he really become awful, or has he stopped giving a fuck?

Outrageous! As if a centre midfield containing the following stars can be stopped: Shelvey Hayden Hendrick S. Longstaff M. Longstaff Saivet Barlasar Chelsea loan kid(?) We’re aiming for Europe!
-
Good question. I didn’t watch much of Burnley. Would people agree Bruce’s first choice would be Shelvey-Hayden - and if so, does Hendrick displace one of them?

Why did Staveley ask fans to complain about the PL's unfair decision if PIF have just walked away? It doesn't make any sense. Then again not much about this whole farce does. I’m going with “They (As & RB) were surprised/disappointed that PIF withdrew and, knowing they had no legal recourse, threw a Hail Mary PR campaign.”

Clickbait repost of clickbait says Fulham have made an offer for Gerard Pique

Sometimes, I read people’s opinions and wondering if we’re looking at the same things. So, I thought I’d compile a short list of my understandings and invite anyone to correct me if they are misunderstandings. 1) According to the (flexibly applied) rules, the proposed transfer of shares and proposed list of new directors is provided to the PL by the (current) owner (Ashley). 2) At some point (possibly after the WTO case and fallout, possibly from the start), the PL gave that list back to Ashley and said some version of “Not good enough. Tell them they need to do x, y and/or z” 3) PIF tell PL some version of “Not cool man. Y u no believe me?” 4) This one is implied from Masters’ letter - At this point, the PL offered a independent arbitration for this issue alone in an attempt to prompt the process/provide itself with a fig leaf (strike through as necessary) 5) PIF “Nope, we're out” 6) AS & RB *fuck* “Rise Geordies, fight the power.” 7) MA *removes Bishop from the crypt*

Was just reading to refresh the memory - I think that might be why it stuck  https://www.planetfootball.com/nostalgia/remembering-tottenhams-1995-intertoto-cup-campaign-when-they-werent-really-themselves/

That’s how I remember it too, especially early on. I have this memory of Tottenham sending out absolute no-name potatoes the first season it ran. I don’t know how many other clubs ever took it seriously...?

I haven't seen much more than highlights, but what really struck me was the video posted after they won promotion. The love and respect all of the players had for Bielsa was unfeigned, and inspiring that is no easy task. So I can't speak for his football, but he knows how to win devotion.

Yes, le Fondre (33) has done very well at Sydney. One goal behind is Berisha (35). On top of them both is very much the odd man out - a "prime-age" Australian international. He's not good enough for Europe, so he came home and starting playing and scoring. There's so much wrong with our game - we import ancient players who light up our league and we thank them. Our teens leave for Europe and surface ten years later at... Sunderland, instead of actually playing and developing. Like, I love Diamanti - he's our captain and agreed to stay on an extra year in a league where foreigners don't do that - but I'm also very fond of the U-21 international that also plays at #10 who rarely gets a kick. Of course, it's just as likely Pasquali will say in ten years "I owe it all to that one year I played with Diamanti" (Soz all, despairing of our game. As you were)
-
37 year old former West Ham player Alessandro Diamanti has been named player of the year in the Australian A-League. I’ve watched him a few times - he plays for my local club Western United - and while he is clearly a quality player, it’s a bit sad that someone who gets around as if in a wheelchair is the best player in the league...

Paris, to play with Neymar and one last payday...

Sounds lovely Lewandowski to score them all

I love how people think Mourinho is still a good coach
