  1. The players aren't flexible enough, they stick religiously to their own position and rarely interchange. Which makes us piss easy to play against and ultra predictable. It's not necessarily about making runs, it's finding space. Look at Arsenal, if their right winger sees a gap in the middle he won't hesitate to run into it and make himself available, even if he doesn't recieve the ball he's dragging a player out of position and creating space for another midfielder/attacking full back, whoever. None of our players do that so we're a soft touch to play against. Also connected to that is getting players close to the player with the ball (on our team). There's never a simple pass on due to the attacking playersnot getting close enough to the man on the ball. If one goes it's predictable, he'll recieve the ball under pressure and it usually goes back and the process starts again. But if two get within 5-10 yards and show for it the man on the ball can fake to go to one, pass to the other, move on recieve it again etc thus dragging opposition players out of position, that's how gaps are created and you get in behind. Again, we never do this. Butt receives it, turns and will have nothing simple on so he has to try one of his long balls out to one of the wingers who are hugging the touchline, and as we know his execution is pretty bad most of the time so we lose possesion. That's why I think Emre who gets quite a lot of stick, some fair some unfair imo, makes such a difference to the side. When playing with Butt under Souness and Roeder that looked our best CM pairing by far, cos Emre's the only one who gets close to to others and gives them a ball to play, creates triangles and gives the opposition something to think about. At the moment we're absolutely toothless. In the summer hopefully we'll get someone who's fit to play every week in who can do that but until then Emre and to a lesser extent Martins (imo) are the only ones who will come in and change things a bit and make us a bit more unpredictable and potent going forward.
  2. Only seen him against Arsenal, didn't get that much service. But his touch looked good and he skinned Gallas for pace a few times.
  3. Maybe Keegan's going with Wenger's philisophy that the only way to stop Ronaldo is to make him defend. Yeah, that's not going to backfire is it?
  4. But who's saying someone living in Asia or Australia wouldn't pay that if they could to get to games? I'm sure if those people lived in the area the majority would be just as dedicated. Just other things in life take preference like jobs, families. I could get to more games than I do at a real push, if that makes me not a true supporter in the eyes of a few cocks, who the fuck cares? I certainly don't.
  5. Thats a pretty brave statement mate considerig we have nobody else that can play in that role. He is a good player and at the beginning of this season when we were winning games he was one of the better players around. Another case of lets find a scapegoat. There are other players to replace in order to improve the squad before I would consider getting a replacement for Milner and they list as: GK 2 x CM 1 x CF Maybe even 2 full backs. These are far more important than replacing Milner as far as I'm concerned. He's decent but we need pace down the wings. Teams aren't scared of players with no pace receiving the ball 40 yards from their goal because they know he won't turn them and get in behind, one of the things I don't like about Milner also is he never makes it hard for the opposition to play against him. I think he needs to come in off the line more, get up front when we have the ball over the other side, you know, rip shit up.
  6. He's not a very good player, he's average with the potential to be good. Get someone else in Kev.
  7. Adebayor!!!!11 shocking miss.
  8. I like to see Watford do well, and I like Arsenal as well, excuse being they're closest prem team to me. (i think.)
  9. Looking forward to Arsenal - AC. Would love to see Arsenal do them. They're the only English team I'm rooting for this year.
  10. Hopefully Carragher's this time, the whiny little twat.
  11. Now we'll have a Rafa wank fest everywhere for the next 3 weeks.
  12. Would have been wearing number 9 if Rafa hadn't jumped in. Yep, good old Glenn.
  13. Got to say, I can appreciate how good they are at defending and how organised Mancini's got them, how good would it be to have a defence that good? Like a brick wall.
  14. Kuyt wouldn't look out of place in our team. All huff and puff, fuck all at the end of it 99% of the time. They need another decent striker badly.
  15. Yah, no harm in putting him in the squad though. James, Hart, Green.
  16. I think it's been quite nice.
