Not sure if it's been posted, but nice tribute from Sir Alex: I was never too big or proud to ask him for advice which he gave freely and unconditionally. And I'm sure I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that. "In my 23 years working in England there is not a person I would put an inch above Bobby Robson. I mourn the passing of a great friend, a wonderful individual, a tremendous football man and somebody with passion and knowledge of the game that was unsurpassed. "His character was hewn out of the coal face, developed by the Durham mining background that he came from. His parents instilled in him the discipline and standards which forged the character of a genuinely colossal human being. He added his own qualities to that which then he passed on to his sons. "The strength and courage he showed over the past couple of years when battling against his fifth bout of cancer was indescribable. Always a smile, always a friendly word with never a mention of his own problems. "The world, not just the football world, will miss him. Let's hope it won't be long before another like him turns up because we could never get enough of them."

this I think they know exactly what is happening. Ashley won't appoint them, so they have to wait for the new owners. They probably know that there won't be any new owners, so they're just getting on with their lives. Cant understand why Ashley wouldnt give them rolling contracts ffs! Not wanting to invest any more money into the club is fair enough, but he would get the players, staff and fans off his back in one blow. The club looking more stable would also be alot more attractive to potential buyers, than it is right now. I think they know exactly what is happening. in all my 30+ years as a Newcastle this feels the most despondent and depressing time - worse than the worse of FF and even McKeag. We've just being hung out to dry by the fat one and every day that nothing happens sees us drifting and falling further behind even the championship sides - and to think we were a top 4 team just a few short years ago. So pissed off!

lol - too right!

I'd love him back to be honest - deffo unfinished business. We started well earlier this eason (was it really just this season). Keegan needs to be able to spend mind- if we got the right backers, it'd be fun!

Ashley must have some intelligence and business savvy as he made millions. Yet the decisions made, back-tracking, uturns, contradictions just begqars belief - it's as if the club is run by Joey Deacon or he's had a rich man's bet to destroy us.
