The players are in the main better than who we have let go. The killer for us supporters/Sam/Ashley will be the 4-3-3 in which none of our present front 4 would choose or want to play in. It showed v Villa and 2nd half at Bolton it is a fucking negative boring style of play.

So are Martins and Viduka in a 433, in fairness. Viduka can play it being solitary up front but agreed regarding Martins. I just can't see how it will ever work when our front 4 are all 4-4-2 players. Sam will make life tough for himself if he doesn't change things - he might need to think about Mort stating almost from the off that Sam wasn't their choice.

When you can muster 1 shot shot on target in a home game you fully deserve all the criticism that comes your way. For me it was a very poor performance. More so because from the first minute the system never worked and wasn't changed - except the last desperate 10 minutes when we just pushed forward. Play 4-4-2 - the players understand it. As has been said why make a wide player of a natural striker and expect a natural wide man to be a striker. Viduka was on his own against the entire back 4 for most of the game. And does anyone really think you'll get the best out of Owen when he's being played wide?

Nope just another opinion. Give it time, too early to judge on 2 games, AND still unbeaten, with the defence looking better than last season. It's grossly oversimplifying to say, "135 minutes of pure s***" we've played some good football and some not so good. Villa came for the draw, defended deep, and got their point we couldnt break them down on the day. As for Bolton 2nd half (I'm assuming you're not including 1st half in your total of s*** football fact stat), the job was done, you often see a second half peter out when one side takes a good lead in the 1st half as they look to hold the lead rather than extend it, that's what happened to us then. Villa came for 3 points - they created better chances than we did.

4-3-3 could cost Sam his job. 180 minutes 2 lucky goals, 1 cracker - 135 minutes of pure shit. That is FACT.
