  1. http://www.premierleague.com/page/UKAndIreland/0,,12306,00.html Blackpool remains on the Bank Hol weekend. Should be fun.
  2. I'll be amazed if Plod allow NUFC supporters anywhere near Blackpool on an Easter weekend. I can quite easily see this moving to either the previous or following midweek live fixture. I'll say it'll move to the Tuesday after the BH Monday.

    Alan Pardew

Hughton was a busted flush and it was the right decision to peddle him. 5-1 and 3-1 away defeats in his final two away games 2 points from 15 iirc. from his final 5 games. He was also completely undermined by the regime and with hindsight he should have jacked in with dignity when calderwood was refused a contract and was forced to move on.

    Alan Pardew

Not responding to your post alone but all the posts in general. Basically people even if Hughton didn't go out there and scout the players himself, he still had the final say on getting them here and played a role in attracting them to the club. By the way some talk on here it's as if he was the anti-christ, however I still remember what he done for this club and we need to give credit where credit is due. Pardew has done a good job so far however, we must not forget the (disgraceful) circumstances in which he came in, though I must stress that although Ashley must be the one to blame for those circumstances, Pardew still had a hand in it. Now he's done well, but he hasn't signed any of his own players (except Kuqi) and as such we should recoginise that Hughton must have had a hand in the dealing bringing Tiote and unifying the team and TBH it does seem as if he could have kept all our major players here as they loved him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1336641/Newcastle-bring-big-Chris-Hughton-sacking-joke-says-Jose-Enrique.html But I do say that pardew has done a good job, so far, it's just the circumstances in which he came here make me hesitant to be declaring him the Geordie Messiah like some are saying on here. But still a good job so far. Doubt there are many takers on the Geordie Messiah but you might get a bit of action on "has done a good job, so far". I said on here (can't be arsed to look when) that it's a judgement call on whether AP is an upgrade on CH. Based on not very much I happen to think he is. What I'm saying is that on this forum being a Pardew fan seems to be the "in" thing, which is fine, but to say that he's ban upgrade on Hughton is stupid and no-one can actually give any evidence (which you admit so fairs fair) but TBH I would like to see an actual arguement why he's better than Hughton, because in my mind the fact that Hughton has won more trophies in a season than Pardew has in his entire career says a lot. I'll have a go. Pardew never managed a squad like the one we had in the Championship. Hughton never got a team he was managing to a Cup Final. But we all know that's not really relevant, as I said its a judgement call on where we are now. IIRC the year after the cup final West Ham finished seventeenth (they were in the relegation zone when he got sacked) plus he had the worst run of results for the Hammers in seventy years. So he may be alright this season, but next season it can be expected to be a shaky one. How has he improved the team? Kuqi? Of course - we all know Kuqi has been identified as Carroll's replacement. How has he improved the team then We score more goals and are harder to beat for certain. 11 games, 16 points F18 A13 GD+5. 6th on form over the period of his 11 games. And how many of the games have been without AC? You would have to be churlish bastard indeed to not at least think he's done a decent job so far.
  5. My only reservation is investing my hard earned £500 for ten years just to watch any player that has a modicum of talent depart the Club when either a serious offer comes in or they get tapped up with promises of even more filthy lucre elsewhere.
  6. Off his old man to my cousin.
  7. Villa are still paying his wage and will do until he's fit enough for selection. Bolton will be too soon but he hopes to be there and there abouts for Everton. He loves it up here in Toon.

To be honest that would be my preferred choice. I've been going since the early 80's and the Gallowgate has always been the "home" end as far as i'm concerned although i'm aware that people aged 45+ would disagree with me mind. I just think it's the best stand in terms of it's design for generating the most noise and other added bonuses are that the upper tier has very few season ticket holders in it at present and a lot of those who are there this season (upper tier) already stand/sing for the 90 minutes. Add that to the fact that it's always been the end that the players like to attack in the 2nd half and it's a no brainer as far as i'm concerned. The argument about it not being near enough to the away fans doesn't wash with me. If you look at the traditional "home ends" in England like the Kop, the Holte end, Stretford End, The old North Bank and so on they were always at the opposite end of the ground to the away support but it didn't stop them making a hell of a din when they wanted to. Leazes End is the home end mind!! The reason we attack the Gallowgate End in the 2nd half is because of the geet big slope. It's downhill so much better attacking downhill in the 2nd half when players are getting tired. i don't think the slope exists anymore. I sit in level 7 Milburn and i can categorically state that it does. have a look at the east Stand, at the leazes end the fron row is pitch level whereas at the Gallowgate end it's a canny bit higher than pitch level. It is a very noticeable slope. Pretty sure its still there like, went on a stadium tour a year or so ago and the bloke mentioned it. Deffo a slope of about 18inch from leazes down to gallowgate

Can't be much in it between there and the Gallowgate Upper Tier though. When tickets for home games go on sale 4 of the 5 sections in Gallowgate show as "good" availability and the other section shows as "very good". Also the Gallowgate Upper has a larger capacity than North West corner L4. Just bought one in the Upper just now. Excellant availabilty. My row has only myself and one or two more that have been in for the long haul. The rest have gave up the ghost.
  10. But LFC wil cash in their policy and not be left out of pocket. Much better to have Carroll permacrocked making occasional comebacks thus cementing his £80k pw wage over the duration.
  11. Duncan Ferguson was always injured. Crouch not so often. I do hope though that Carrolls injury record resembles Woodgates.

How much are the jnr tickets? In The Gallowgate Upper. Might get the baba a seat next to me. (Don't wanna go in family enclosure)
  13. It'll be wonderful the next ten years watching our talent disappear to the Clubs we've got no fucking chance of catching up to.
  14. More than half of the Chelsea team I doubt would be viewed as first choice starters.
  15. Still early days yet but Pardew has done a decent job so far as ar as I'm concerned. Tiote V stevenage being the lowest point in his tenure thus far for me. Probably the reason we aren't on 40 points already. Had a brief look and will stand corrected if the stats aren't 100%, but .... Pardews first 11 games. 16 points F18 A13 Hughtons final 11 games. 12 points F16 A19 Bruce last 11 games. 14 points F13 A15 (Chucked that in for the unwashed fuckers to digest) I can't think anyone would be unhappy with what has happened since he arrived. A lot of those points achieved without AC. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,72950.0.html I'd hope some of the folk who posted in this are tad embarrassed today. Onwards and upwards - it'll be nice to see HBA, Ireland etc coming into a team that are reletively relegation free. edit. Since He arrived on December 6th.... Played/Points 1 Man U 11 26 2 Arse 10 21 3 Spurs 10 21 4 Man City 11 20 5 Liverpool 12 20 6 Newcastle 11 16 7 Fulham 11 16 8 Chelsea 10 15 9 Sunderland 11 14 10 Everton 10 13 11 Bolton Wanderers 11 13 12 West Ham United 11 13 13 Aston Villa 12 13 14 Stoke City 10 12 15 Wolverhampton Wndrs 10 12 16 Birmingham City 10 12 17 Wigan Athletic 11 12 18 Blackburn Rovers 11 11 19 Blackpool 11 10 20 West Bromwich Albion 10 5 We were 13th when he took over.
  16. Where about in Shields you from? I'm up by The Gunner SB? Im by billy mill, usually drink in the gunner though. Not far then. I rarely go in the gunner. Who'd you travel away to games with?
  17. Where about in Shields you from? I'm up by The Gunner. SB? And I've nee idea how good or bad they are. If they are good they'll sell well though.
  18. Throughout the PL era I doubt any more than 2 or 3 winners of the FA Cup have came from outside the top 4. So it means next to fuck all to allocate a CL place to the FA Cup winners. Will UEFA allow the FA to allocate the place to the Cup winners?

I would almost certainly think you'll get first choice to renew in your original seat.

And also ask the snidey bastard if the now 'compulsory' membership will remain the same price throughout the ten year ST deal.

To your credit mate you've done more in days than the NUST have in however long they've existed. Well done on that.
  22. LFC's owner has already confirmed the deal was done 24 hours before Ashley 'accepted' Carrolls request and reluctantly accepted LFC's bid. LFC's owner knew the price Chelsea would need to pay for Torres would be £15m more than NUFC wanted for Carroll so they could balance the books with the £6m they made off the other centre forward they sold (who's name escapes me) Carroll and the bloke from Holland for torres.
  23. I'm embarrassed that NUFC have been forced to stoop this low.

Ten WHOLE years of watching Ashley scour Europe - NAY! The World - for the finest young talent available. Then to watch that fine young talent prosper and bloom into the cream of North East football. Then to watch that talent reach its potential - at Man City or Man United or Arsenal or Liverpool or Chelsea or Spurs. Sounds a cracking deal to me where do I sign up?
