Has to be Casemiro behind Bruno and Eriksen. Surely?
-
Bruno just another Jermaine Jens I can taste the salt through my monitor.

Worth to point out that even if we put in a bid, and got told no we won't take anything less than X amount, if we went straight back and offered the minimum asked the likelihood of the selling club accepting said offer is very low, especially if the selling club is in no urgent need of selling. They aren't bound to accept anything unless they give us a formal counter-offer.

Even at £50m it is still an insane price to pay for a player of his age, especially considering his alleged drop in form in the league last season. You could be stuck with an unmotivated old player on insane wages for the next 5 years who will not want to leave once considered past it by whomever is in charge at Man Utd at the time.

This is what sounds logical to me as well, and if Wilson becomes unavailable due to injuries Howe can move Pedro in centrally and play Almiron at RW.

Or nicked them from Brazil and Italy on ISS2

This is pure speculation on my end (or wishful thinking?), but I get the impression that Bruno came here to create something special, his own legacy, and he doesn't want to come to a fully set table. Even if offered the chance to join Real Madrid, I don't think he would do it as long as he believes in the vision of this club.

Depends how far back in their career you look in some cases. Haaland before getting his move to Molde in the top league in Norway played 16 games for Bryne in the second division, and scored 0 goals. First season in Molde (who if I remember correctly was the best team in Norway at the time) he only managed 2 goals in 14 games. In his last season at Molde he scored 12 in 25. Althought that isn't bad, it's not exactly prolific considering the team he was playing for and the quality of the league and what he went on to do after. Salzburg saw the obvious potential in him and took a chance by spending a sizable amount (relative for them) of money on him. It wasn't really until he got his move abroad that people were seriously starting to consider him one of the most exciting striker talents in the world. Just for clarity, I'm not saying Pedro has the potential to become as good as Haaland

Nah, price drops back to £30m without.

This thread will be a hoot the next 20 pages of doom and agony.

There's great value in picking up players from relegated clubs. We already got one this season in Pope and I don't think anyone can look back at the last two matches and say they are sceptical of him? How will talents ever get the chance if we keep signing ready-made first team players? Besides, we aren't in a position to get a full team of Bruno's. We need to take a chance on potential and hope they develop/mature with us as we progress.

Maybe I misunderstood you. Thought you were implying there's a risk that he can't handle the pressure of playing at St. James' Park, which he clearly can.
-
Thought I was reading a post from Martin Jol for a moment there.
-
No, but that wasn't really what I was commenting on either.
-
He's played and scored against us 7 months ago He has 2 seasons of PL experience already. I wouldn't worry about his age and whether he can take the pressure at all tbh.

There was a (very) short period where I wouldn't have sold Ranger for £20m. Can't remember much hype about Sammeobi though.

We need someone who will set the bar higher than the current players we have at RW. We "only" need more competent cover than Wood for Wilson, preferably a younger player that has room to grow with the club which Pedro seems to be. Bonus point for seemingly being able to cover the wings as well if needed.

Seems like the standard "have to provide something negative to add balance" throw away comment to any goalkeeper. Dubs got the same critique under Rafa. Krul when he was at the top of his game. Harper during his good spells. Given as long as I can remember. Wouldn't be surprised if Shaka and Srnicek got it too Never really understood it. The success rate of a punt up the field will in 19 out of 20 instances be determined by who wins the duel for it as players will have time to reposition to where the ball is landing.

Andersen has had a great start to the season. Thought he was Palace's motm yesterday and last game against Arsenal.

We paid £25m for him making him one of our most expensive players. Whether the wages listed are correct or not, he's definitely going to be one of our top earners.
