Buendia tearing us a new one. Still don't understand our formation. Think Eddie might be trying to be too clever after our last loss against them? -

Fair amount of Sunderland shirts spotted behind the Villa goal cheering when then ball went out of play? -

Could play that lass walking out with Dubravka at CB if we encounter a lot of injuries -

Wish I could see Unai speaking. My broadcast has had Michael Owen on for the last 10 minutes -
Guy started two games in the league last season. Away to Liverpool and Man City Don't see CB as a high priority this summer with Lascelles and Burn being decent cover for Schar and Botman.

Don't get it either. Full stadium, fans and players celebrating a beautiful stoppage time winner by one of the best players in footballs history making his debut for their club. Doesn't get much better than that surely?
-
Not that I hold anything on twitter in high regard, but what makes this random twitter person more credible than other random twitter people?
-
I don't think so either. I just don't see him getting the playing time he needs with Howe being reluctant to rotate the defence and with three other right backs knocking on his door to get some time on the field too unless we manage to shift or loan out at least two of them.
-
LB: Burn, Targett, Lewis, Dummett RB: Trippier, Manquillo, Krafth, Ashby, Livramento and here we thought Pardew had a hard on for full backs Must be a case of them seeing him as the successor to Trippier and getting him in now rather than risk losing him to someone else later. Unless we're confident of moving on 2 of Manquillo, Krafth or Ashby I wouldn't mind loaning him straight out this season to ensure he gets the amount of playing time he needs to progress.

Fabinho didn't have a great season, but he missed 3 games all season due to rotations, not injury. He's a full Brazilian international who's won everything and considered one of the best in his position. If you compare his fee to that Man Utd paid for Casemiro, you could say his fee is ridiculously low too, seeing as he is 1 year younger than when Man Utd bought Casemiro.
-
£30m is 2x what we paid for him (ish), isn't it? Not too bad imo considering his injury record. Would have preferred if we kept him mind, at least one more season to see if he was able to adapt more to our new style of play and stay fit. Only him and Isak who are consistently successful in dribbling past players in the squad. Just as valuable a trait to have when we need to break down teams imo as being able to unlock a defence with a through pass.
-
Of course not a bad thing, but if it is the only thing he brings it may be to the detriment of the team over all.
-
He's coming off a full season with CL with Milan, going straight to U21 Euros. Would be very surprised if he isn't 100% fit.

Just had a browse through the Barnes thread on foxestalk. The critique of him being wasteful with the ball and lazy isn't something recent due to their poor season From 2019 - February 2021 I haven't seen a single negative word in his thread from what I browsed through. In Feb 21 they were shitting themselves that they'll lose him to Liverpool in the summer. He got injured end of feb 2021 with a knee injury and was out for rest of the season. Slow start to the 2021-22 season so people a bit divided as he's had some underwhelming performances but coming off a long injury. By October 2021 not a single positive word from anyone (kindest posts saying he's out of form) but most criticizing him for being wasteful with the ball and unable to get past players. This lasts until mid-January 2022 where he seems to have done fairly well (lost of "well he's the best option we have" posts). One poster summing him up as "Overrated but falls into that perfect Leicester City player category because he can be useful sometimes." This mood seems to continue through to March 2022 when he's back to being a donkey, lazy, head down player who only does well when the team overall is doing well. Pre-season 2022 most posts people are hoping some rest and a good pre-season can bring back the old Barnes. From there until now it seems like the forum is split between him being a shit player and people posting his g+a stats so he can't be bad. A bit like on here.

Further proof that Howe will have to change things up this season and be more open to rotations.
-
Who's #67 who assisted for the third?
-
There's some quotes from him a couple of pages back saying he didn't feel like he was in the shape he needed to be last season, and was going to use the U21 euros to get in better shape for this season. If he's serious about that, it goes without saying that he can't take an extended break away from the squad afterwards, but good on him for following up on his own words.

Lingard and Digne was January/summer 2022's Barnes & Maddison this window. Hopefully we dodge Barnes as well. If we do I'm sure there'll be people on here next year saying the same about them two as people are now saying about Lingard and Digne. Boring, mediocre PL experience on high wages, long contracts impossible to get rid of without massive losses in 1-2 years.

Reckon it'll be more than that since Fraser and Hendrick were free transfers
