Despite us competing with them I am all for every club that breaks the status quo. Added bonus if we get some salty Arteta tears post-match.

If it's going to be handball, wasn't the ball in Cash's arm first?
-
I want to watch the Bournemouth game so bad, but I just know Man Utd will turn it around in an unconvicing fashion if I do
-
Turning off again.

Literally turned the match on as Ayew was sent off. I am cursed. Whenever I turn on a match to watch because I might get to see an upset, the game changes immediately.

I don't think we need to reduce our ambitions if we play Dubs and Karius until Pope is back. I don't think De Gea is close to what he used to be, and on top of that he hasn't played a competitive game since April. If it was a younger prospect we'd be looking to take over for Pope in the future I'd be more in favor of getting someone in despite not seeing it as a necessity.
-
There's a great team in London to support for those who just want to buy their way out of short term trouble. No guarantee for success though. Can't get over the amount of people who legitimately wants us to bring in De Gea short term when we have a PL proven GK in Dubs, with the added risk of disrupting not only the keepers we already have on our books, but the entire squad if some has been strolls in on double the wages the next player has. Same people who were desperate to get Lingaard in by any chance?
-
But if he were to accept say 75k there would be more alternatives from clubs that would probably also be willing to offer him a longer contract.
-
Yeah, that's why he got his contract extended this summer after being with the team since October or something last year. Some absolute bullshit on display here. Pope has dropped a number of clangers way worse than anything Dubs did today. No way Pope saves the first or second. Third is 50/50. But nah, let's go for the washed up has been who'll command higher wages than anyone else in the squad. That has worked wonders for other clubs in recent past and sure to galvanise the spirit in the dressing room.

Should maybe clarify that it's not to say those mentioned wouldn't have handled it, but we don't know while we do know with Tripps.
-
Better that he's the one that mucked things up rather than say Miley, Gordon or Livramento. We know Trippier can handle it and will bounce back.

Karius and Gillespie to come on and change the game on 60th minute
-
Not even funny how much that still riles me up

It's a subjective list, so can't really say you're wrong, but I don't understand how you can have Targett, whom despite of injury problems was an integral part of turning our season around when Howe first arrived, behind Ashby and Kuol who has done nothing to date here nor really anything of note at the clubs they've been on loan at that would indicate that they can be future players here. From my personal preference I'd have Burn ahead of Tonali and Barnes and Botman ahead of Livramento. Other than that difficult to disagree with anything else.
-
I think you missed the note somewhere along the line when the forum was debating Froggy ahead of our Man Utd game which says no supporters of others clubs are allowed to complain about injury problems, or brag about their clubs performance despite key injuries because our injury problems are worse.
-
Why are so many people reacting negatively to someone who is expressing joy over a club who's had similar trajectory to us? Still salty about the Ant & Dec banner a decade or more ago? I much prefer Villa in that position than any of the usual suspects.
-
Guess that's what you get when you play 4 center backs and 2 right backs. Negative boring City.
-
Have a bet on Brighton, Bournemouth & Villa to win. Fingers crossed they can keep it tight the last couple of minutes
-
It's a very small detail, but if you watch the extended highlight at 02:17 the way he passes the ball with his left foot to get it in a forward direction to Bruno while being pressured is something you rarely if ever see Longstaff do, who would rather have passed the ball back to Lacselles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU19hg90_GA&t=323s&ab_channel=NewcastleUnited

Didn't watch the game. Was the OT on top of the OT fair?
-
Think it's the eyebrows who makes him have that expression where no matter how happy he his, he got that "but I can never unsee what I saw in 'nam"-look about him.

Every player that has been introduced to our regular defence - Lascelles, Livramento, Krafth, Dummett, Hall - all of them has done well. I don't buy the preference to stick with a settled back 4 any longer, and I doubt Howe does as well. Things change. Fringe and up & coming players has proved themselves - now we just need to rely on Howe to manage game time to avoid another injury nightmare like the one we've been through.
-
We've had 2 and 3 keepers on our bench for at least a month now. It would be extremely harsh on them if we were to bring in a short term replacement for Pope. If we did that, I wouldn't blame either of them if they would try to force themselves out of the club in January. If that is how low they were rated, you've got to ask questions of the management team why we even bothered keeping on Dubravka and extending the contract with Karius.
-
Not necessarily. Depends on when in the season and how many games we're playing. We got Lascelles and Burn coming back soon to step in with Krafth and Dummett as back-up to them. If Schar and Botman was out for the season now then yeah I would hope they would get someone in. At GK we only have one injury though, with three back-ups.
