Being hammered is, regardless of how rare or often it happens when you're a professional athlete. I don't really care what he does as long as he performs for us when fit. It's still unprofessional though.

It's not a sin, but it is extremely unprofessional.

Matz Sels + £10m for Lewis Miley in January sounds about right.

Too often we end up being closed down too quickly, so we have to play the ball back to Pope, who diligently hoofs the ball directly to the opposition or out for a throw in I agree it's a good idea to invite a press to create space up the field for ourselves, but I don't think its too much to ask Burn to be able to hit a pass to Livramento and Schar to hit a pass to Hall so that we have a bit more time with the ball in order to find an opening that isn't a pass back to Pope.
-
Think this is symptomatic for a lot of our players. It annoys me particularly when the defence is passing the ball amongst themselves while being closed down by the opposition. Unless Schar is trying a hollywood pass to one of the wings, he'll rarely pass the ball longer than to the players closest to him i.e Livramento or Burn, even if Hall is open and an early pass to him will give him more time to do something productive with the ball before being closed down. Same with Burn who will pass to Hall or Schar even if Livramento is more open on the right. We all know that the ball is going to the fullbacks eventually. Why give the opposition more time to close us down?

If he had a similar chance coming from the left he'd be more likely to score. It looked like a better chance than it actually was imo.

One belter of a cross doesn't eliminate our need for a new RW. Gordon was really impressive against Arsenal, but to me that was mainly due his defensive work rate covering and helping Tino multiple times and pressing Arsenals back line. Other than that one cross he didn't offer much threat going forward compared to what he can from the left.

If we neutralize their wingers we win. If they get another game where our high defensive line is exposed for pace, we'll probably lose.

Viaplay with a Man Utd- Chelsea pre-match pitch side panel of Berbatov, Stam and Schmeicel. God I hate broadcasters and how much they pamper the bigger supporter groups

wp Maddison. He sure can bring it when his team is 2 goals up at the end of the game with no pressure on him.

Anyone put bets on Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City losing this weekend?

Great Brighton goal

Wish someone was petty enough to quote all the bed wetters that were bawling their eyes out when the starting line-up was announced

Isak is nearly dead. Why is he still on???????????????????????????????????
-
Could do with some more enegery on the break. Osula & Barnes on for Isak & Gordon.
-
Gordon playing RB & RW. Livramento needs to wake up.

Arsenal doesn't have much pace up top compared to what Chelsea had.

Steven Taylor used to be a striker and Andy Carroll was a winger at youth level. Struggle to see it as a very good point why we should try to shoehorn Hall into a position he hasn't played at a senior level, that he hasn't played in for at least 3 years. Lets just play players in the positions they are trained in and most comfortable playing in?
-
Another player doing well. Quick! Lets find out where we can play him out of position!
-
He seems like a great person, and he's obviously extremely professional. He was probably the fittest player in the squad before his injury, and somehow he's managed to come back from his injury even fitter Should be a role model to all youth players and probably even some in the senior squad. I wouldn't begrudge him wanting to move to get more regular football elsewhere on a free in the summer, but I hope he get another 1 year contract extension to provide competition/cover for CB & RB positions.

Has that weird look where he somehow looks quite slow despite breezing past players As @alexf said loved that he got on that run and didn't break down. Must have given him great confidence in his body when he was able to do that. He seemed to hold back a bit in one of the earlier recent games he was involved in.
