If we got a 7m bid I would snap their hands off but like South Tynedale says it's completely irrelevant when we refuse to reinvest, so selling him just weakens the squad despite his complete lack of production
-
The amount of stick Shola gets is incredible, ffs people need to calm down a bit about him. No world beater but hardly the anti-christ he's made out to be on here.
-
There really is no excuse for them, but they will peddle it out tomorrow when that window closes for sure.
-
For me the worst thing about this transfer window inactivity is because it's come on the back of the last window of inactivity. I am also just so pissed off with them missing an opportunity to push, really buying from a position of strength is the way to go, we are there now, a good core of a team who need a few pieces here and there to really push towards challenging for CL, but we just refuse to do it, frustrating as fuck. The loss of our best player, suspension of our top goalscorer for 3 vital fixtures and the upturn in fortunes for the inbreds down the road doesn't help the mood either.

He could be for all we know, in fact he could have been for a long time now. Bit like "Weekend at Bernie's"

Alot of untruths are told by agents, clubs and players during these negotiations. I read that quote as more of an invitation to come back with more rather than a case closed. The only problem is others expect these negotiations to be flexible but our ownership usually tend to be pretty rigid in theamount of wiggle room they have, or at least that's how it appears. So alas, I suspect it's probably done and dusted, with of course no time to look at alternatives, some will say that is convenient, other would say there is time but they don't have a desire to make things happen.

Would love to see us make a move for him on permanent, don't really understand why we were not interested here with a loan view to permanent. Got a feeling this guy will be worth a lot more once this loan finishes.
-
People have been saying teams should beat Sunderland no problem for the last couple of months, very few have though including your own club.
-
Nice would take that, not gonna happen though
-
Got a feeling we will buy (or loan at worst) someone it might not be this guy. The squad right now is looking ridiculously thin.
-
Not confident about this game at all. Especially without Remy. Think Mackems will sneak a 0-1, through Johnson (who always seems to score against us and is in fine form right now ), with us having a lot of possession but they get their noses in front and we are unable to convert any of the chances we make.
-
Wow I just saw the three games he misses, we couldn't really pick 3 worse ones to not have our leading scorer for could we. That was a very costly red card.
-
I don't think Spuds would loan us Holtby, way to close to them in the league, kinda stupid of them iyam. And I don't believe there is any intent on them offloading him yet, they just want another club to develop him for them, like they like to do with their young players. Heard yesterday it was another London club, Fulham I think that he was going to.
-
Bullshit. Even the most deluded of mackems wouldn't agree with that. It's fucking true man, despite all our close run things under KK and SBR, we won nowt.
-
They are a side right now who are just picking up points and pulling themselves away from the mess down there. Really all those people on here who said there was no way they would stay up, really need to learn there are no certainties in football, if they stay up and win the cup final they are in they will have had the most successful season for any North East club in over 40 years !! It's fucking galling tbh, they might be riding their luck but I'm not confident at all about this weekend

Wow good and surprising news, I just woke up to this morning. Lets hope we manage to get this one "over the line".
-
wow Liverpool ripping Everton apart
-
Every other game has goals except ours

Why go to the lecture in the first place lol

Isn't the thing to keeping players like Cabaye, by showing the ambition to make it into the Champions League. Showing them the club is going places. Something we most definitely do not do. You can hardly blame players for wanting to play in the top competition, unfortunately to do that they have to leave us. Aye I don't blame Cabaye one bit & I'm not shocked. The problem is the club has no ambition. None whatsoever. It's even in the mission statement that it's their intention to buy cheap young players approaching their prime & sell them when they peak. Till Ashley f***s off nothing changes. I don't actually mind that philosophy as long as it's a building block to something more ambitious. Providing the financial foundations to build up your squad until you get to a position where there are no other clubs in a stronger place to take your prized assets away from you. But clearly that's not the intent here, the summit has been set at top 10, anything beyond that is a bonus and will never become a new target.

part of the pro license they have to get is media training. Listening to the press pass on talksport sunday and John Cross of the Mirror was talking a bit about it as he'd done that bit of it recently with Paul Ince on it and they do try to think of whatever scenario and how to answer it apparently. I think Hughton must have gotten an A+ for that part of the course, don't remember him saying anything of any worth in any interview he did as NUFC boss and I guess that's what they are aiming for. While JFK in the unlikely event of him actually doing the course would have done well to scrape an F. Pardew's probably somewhere in the middle as a C, could do better.
-
It's funny how most of us think this guy is such a bellend, yet we hang on every word he says at these press conferences. It's a job in itself to ensure what you say can't be interpreted in a negative way, they obviously have to be heavily coached by the press officers, I would be shite at it, babble on way too much.
-
The most worrying thing about the sale imo, is not necessarily the loss of the player or the message it sends out of us being a small thinking club. It's the obvious impact it will have on how well we play. He was a real key to how Pardew set us up to play, clearly Pardew is not a man with a plan B, because without Cabs in the team, the team more often than not struggled. Pardew now has to think of a way to permanently play without him, not sure he has that ability to change unfortunately.

TBF against Everton he would have had a point, he's improved a hell of a lot since that debacle though. I agree with him on Taylor, gets way too much stick on here. I'm no Williamson fan but I would think you have to go with Willo and MYM for form and fitness. Although got a feeling Taylor will get the nod ahead of MYM.
